After seeing today’s headlines, it should be “Stupid News” and Commentary”.

It is a Saturday in the Realm, and I am here in my office nestled between two stadiums bringing the news headlines and my stupid commentary to whoever’s left here to read it.  Remember, this isn’t MY idea to be sitting here doing this shit — ain’t none of you willing to step up and do it.  I keep telling y’all that one of these days, without warning, this is going to die, along with me.

The Headlines That Caught My Eye This Morning

Item 1:   Supreme Court to Decide Whether Trump Is Eligible for Colorado Ballot

Well, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.  It will be VERY interesting to see how they weave and duck to come to a decision that still remains “originalist” and “textualist”, while still maintaining any semblance of  authority.  Whatever their decision will render the Court’s decisions going forward moot for a large segment of the population.

Item 2:   Trump Shares Messianic Video About God Sending Him To Save World

Ever the helpful sock puppet, I’ve posted the video here:

I’m willing to bet any amount of money that he never bothered to get permission from Paul Harvey’s estate for using an Artificial Intelligence rendering of Paul Harvey’s voice and the premise from his 1978 production of “God Made the Farmer”.

Why do I say this?  Because it seems to be the modus operandi of Trump and most Trumpublicans to literally steal someone else’s work product and use it as their own.  Trump, and Trumpublicans in general only seems to follow the law when it suits them.

Item 3:   US faces ‘tragic’ rise in syphilis cases with life-saving drug in short supply

In case nobody’s noticed it, there seems to be a shortage of a LOT of pharmaceuticals lately.  The biggest mistake we’ve ever made as a nation is ceding our manufacturing to other countries, such as China, on important stuff such as pharmaceuticals.

Item 4:   Wayne LaPierre resigns as NRA leader, days before start of his civil trial

For “health reasons”, is his claim.  Maybe so, he’s 74 years old and we tend to start becoming a bit dilapidated at that age.  But I suspect the real reason is that he wants to put a gulf between his personal finances and that of the NRA before he goes into court.

Item 5:   Americans living in their cars are finding refuge in ‘safe parking lots’

Hubert Humphrey once said, “The measure of a society is how it treats its weakest members.”

Judging by the vast number of homeless people in this country, we look rather sick.

Item 6:   New York mayor sues bus companies that transported migrants to city

New York should start impounding these buses.  They also should put the migrants on the next thing smoking back to Texas.

More importantly, both Texas and Floriduh governors need to start screaming at their US Representatives and Senators to actually DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS and fix the problem.  This is NOT the purview of the states or the Executive Branch.  The US Constitution gives CONGRESS the sole power of law making, and they are shirking  their sworn duties.

If Congress were a private company, they’d be fired and replaced a long time ago.

Until CONGRESS actually gets together and comes up with a comprehensive migrant, immigration, and border package for the 21st century, that includes substantial foreign aid spending in the nations where the migrants are coming from, we are going to continue having a major problem on our borders.  Presidents shouldn’t be expected to try and solve the problem with temporary ‘executive orders’, because most of them will not survive judicial oversight.  Also, executive orders will do absolutely nothing to stem the flow of migrants heading North.

The vast migration we see at our Southern border is a SYMPTOM of a major problem, not the problem itself.  If we are to fix the problem of massive migration, we have to solve the problem that is causing them to come here in the first place.

It’s really that simple.  Too bad neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are looking at it this way.

Funny, but I thought $174,000 was too much considering the lack of work they do.

You think this is a joke, but thousands of these people took to social media yesterday to point this out.

I posit that it IS, in fact, your idea to post here. If you keep it up, we can use this as a Sock Puppet heartbeat indicator. No post, no Sock Puppet.

A fair point. Self reflection reveals my heart is just not in it.
