Good morning, from my Hunker-Bunker overlooking the Puget Sound in Seattle. The light is scattering the dark outside with a forecast of showers and a high of 68° F. It appears we are back to what used to be a normal weather pattern thirty years ago. It kinda makes me wonder what we did wrong.

But while the delegates loved Mr. Obama, they really loved Mrs. Obama. From the minute she entered to Stevie Wonder to the end when she introduced her husband, she had the hall wrapped in her hand. No wonder Mr. Obama did not want to go next. No wonder former President Donald J. Trump over the years has repeatedly expressed a feverish worry that the Democrats would turn to Mrs. Obama as their next nominee in some kind of bizarre conspiratorial plot.
I think that if Michelle Obama had wanted to run in 2024, she would have won by a landslide. And yes, Donald Trump was terrified that she might run. But then so were just about every other wannabe from either party. But she has made it very clear that she has no intention of ever running for president — and I think that is what makes people want her more. Everybody wants what they can’t have. It’s where magical thinking begins.
Who could blame her for not wanting to be president? Her approval rating is in the superstar range, being president would erode all that down to nothing.

Ouch. I can’t imagine that sitting will with Trump. Whether he allows his seething to explode onto Truthsocial or not, is anyone’s guess. Frankly, it’s not really a matter of if, but when.
Protests are much larger online
Chicago police claimed that 3,500 people marched to the convention, organizers claimed to have 15,000 in the park. They had predicted between 30,000 and 40,000 would assemble, from Chicago’s homegrown left-wing groups to activists who’d flown and driven hundreds of miles to oppose the Democrats.
Read the room. A few short weeks ago, when it looked like the Democrats were going to lose to Donald Trump, a lot of those disenfranchised kids jumped onto the ‘Anti-Zionist’ protest movement. (You were kids once too, did you do things that make no real sense to you now?)
Now that Queen Kamala is being anointed, and her royal court assembled, many of these pseudo-protesters decided that they found a direction now, and it is “Forward”

Have you ever spent money on a product and then find out that the company that manufactured that product said or did something that triggered your political anger and you decided to destroy it and/or toss it out?
I have a Keurig coffee maker right behind me that someone threw away a few years ago because Keurig said or did something that pissed them off.
I just want to put out the notice now:
I’m looking for a late-model Ford F-250 with all the options. If, for some reason, Ford becomes too “WOKE” for you and you feel the need to dispose of your late-model Ford, then let me know before you do anything.

Panama starts returning migrants on US-funded flights
Under an agreement jointly signed by the Panamanian foreign minister and US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the US has committed to helping Panama with $6m (£4.6m) for equipment, transportation and logistics to “remove foreign nationals who do not have a legal basis to remain in Panama”.
The more money we spend closer to the start of the journey, the less trouble we should have here, at the end of the journey. It’s a more proactive approach than to just build a wall and hire more prison border guards.
