… the man who will double, if not triple down on something even when he’s been proven wrong.
Good morning from my Hunker-Bunker overlooking the Puget Sound in West Seattle. It is a Saturday morning, and I am — for the first time in a long time — not holding down the fort at my office between the two stadiums in SODO. I am recovering from being there overnight for three straight nights. I’ve been discovering that when you are getting to be older than the ground you stand on, the things you used to be able to do when you were ten years younger, now have a tendency to rock you a bit.
Now, anything I do that’s out of the ordinary, could cause me aches and pains and irritation. Fuck! I’ve become a creature of habit! *spit* *spit*
The Best of Intentions
I started this post with the FULL intention of not being overtly political today. And for the most part, I think I’ve almost accomplished it. I should at least get a participation trophy for the attempt. But I needed a featured image, and when I read the next headline you will see below, I had no other choice but to post Wrong Don. After all, many of the memes you see below are the direct result of the fact that he cannot give up on anything if he’s proven wrong. From the size of his inauguration crowd, to the size of his rallies, to the 2020 election results, and now this stupid pet trick of his. He is incapable of simply admitting that he was wrong about something — and moving on. No, he has to make it an issue, and it balloons from there.

Trump vows mass deportations from town rocked by ‘pet-eating’ lies
I heard this on the radio shortly before I got up this morning.
“We’re going to start with Springfield,” Trump said on Friday, adding the town had been “destroyed” by immigration.
“You wouldn’t believe what’s going on in Springfield,” Trump said.
Nobody in Springfield does, that’s for sure. Mainly because it hasn’t been happening. It’s not a “thing”. It never was. There was a story in August about a woman in Ohio killing and eating a cat in front of her neighbors — and Trump used this story after being fact-checked at the debate — but that woman was a naturalized citizen with a long history of mental illness.
This was a missed opportunity on Trump’s part. The question was on immigration, but his ego turned into anger and he HAD to respond to the button that Harris pushed concerning his rallies and how people were leaving early because they were bored with the fake claims.
Instead of just going into how the Biden/Harris administration had made it worse for cities like Springfield Ohio and elsewhere with the influx of immigrants taking up resources the cities can’t afford, he had to jump right into this “They are eating your dogs and cats”… and he is still doing it.
So where did this story originate?
Woman whose post ignited false Springfield cat claim says it was based on rumor
The woman whose social media post helped ignite false claims of pets being eaten in Springfield, Ohio, said Friday the post was based on a rumor and that she feels remorse for the Haitian immigrants.
Erika Lee, a Springfield resident, recently authored a post on Facebook, saying that her neighbor’s cat was lost and she was told it was because the pet was attacked by a Haitian immigrant.
Kimberly Newton, Lee’s neighbor, acknowledged this week to NewsGuard, “I don’t actually know the person who lost the cat.” Newton added that the cat’s owner was “an acquaintance of a friend.”
Now, Lee, has said she was sorry about the way the events unfolded, with the unfounded conspiracy theories about Haitian immigrants amplified by both former President Trump and his vice presidential pick, Ohio Sen. JD Vance (R).
“It just exploded into something I didn’t mean to happen,” Lee said in an interview with NBC News on Friday.
So, this whole thing started from some twat posting a false story on FaceCrack about a missing cat of some unknown, and probably imaginary neighbor. Somehow, JD Vance (of course) caught wind of the story and amplified it. Then Trump grabbed hold of it and … well, here we are.
Now that we are all caught up.
