Good morning from my office stuffed between two stadiums in Seattle. It is Oh.. Five Hundred and a tad bit wet outside. Today, it will be clouds and showers with a high of 73°F. For the first time in a week the blower fan in my Unicorn worked. (a two hundred dollar bill to repair it this week…)
I had planned to be across the street at the Foo Fighters concert this evening, but I am not feeling all that well right now. I have a backstage VIP pass, because I used to run sound for the band about 25 years ago. It will all depend on how I am feeling throughout the day.
Let’s see what’s going on in the world today. I am posting these as I find them, and I am not really reading them. Whatever my comments are — will be based solely on the headline and what little I’ve picked up on the subject.
So let’s get going.

Since time immemorial, candidates of every political stripe have promised the world and delivered on little when they campaign for political office. I don’t care who they are, they will all do it. They will tell you anything and make promises with anyone willing to vote for them.
It currently takes a sixty percent threshold to pass anything out of the Senate. Even if the Democrats win the ‘trifecta’ of both houses of Congress and the White House, I don’t see a landslide vote where they would also have a ‘supermajority’ needed to pass any promises made by either candidate.
But hey, it sure SOUNDS good for some people, doesn’t it?

While you could probably make a case for socialism when it comes to Kamala Harris, the only candidate that wants to be a ‘fascist’ is Donald Trump. He has not only said it more than a few times, he has often admired the other fascist dictators of our time and has preferred to make friends with them over out long-established allies.

Oh, that’s an easy one: If a Democrat is president then Republicans will always wish for a bad economic picture. If a Republican is in office, then the Democrats will wish for an economic mess.
Democrats had such a situation in 2020. The economy was literally shut down, and things weren’t looking so swell, and the only person to blame was the orange guy in the Oval Office.
This time around, the economy doesn’t look all that bad. All the indicators point to the Fed starting to lower interest rates in the next couple of weeks and following that trend through until the election.

Was it perfect? Of course not — nothing is ever ‘perfect’ right out of the gate. But it was a START that could have been adjusted and built upon in future congresses. But Republicans either have a lack of vision or a lack of will to defy Donald Trump.
I’d say it is both.

IMHO — and I’ve been around these parts since 1950 — I’d estimate that 99% of our “loons and crazies” are transplants from elsewhere, who all started heading up in this corner of the world shortly after Microshaft started up.
And they’ve kept coming ever since.
