My Amazon Echo Dot plays NPR, BBC News and selected podcasts at night while I sleep. It’s basically ‘white noise’, a sort of a quiet chatter that goes on in the background as I sleep. Sometimes, I will wake up in the middle of the night and I will hear something that catches my interest, and then I drift off again.
Well, last night I caught the latest episode of Hidden Brain, a regular NPR radio show that is also a podcast on your favorite podcast platform.
Hidden Brain explores the unconscious patterns that drive human behavior and questions that lie at the heart of our complex and changing world.
The latest episode deals with why we tend to look at people with opposing viewpoints as being “sick” or “evil”.
I first heard part of the latest episode in my car yesterday as it was talking about how everything can be boiled down into our perceived ‘harms’. It was really quite fascinating, and gave me an entirely different look at a lot of you.
If you have some time, take a listen. You might actually find it as interesting as I did.
