A Fantasy Otherwise Called Socialism

So you want to live in a fantasy world, one where simply by holding out an open palm, a small window opens up into the multiverse and a bottle of beer and cube of manna appears in hand, each sufficient to completely satisfy hunger, survival and health on a daily basis. Multiply this by all other wants and desires of the individual person. Much akin to believing that “the government” can fix non existent weather “emergencies” by added taxation.

Well, let us examine this fantasy in more detail. As we are all (well, excerpt for about 20% that are rabid) aware, such utopias do not exist in our reality and never have outside of written fiction. It is mankind’s duty and burden to work in order to live and prosper; without work, there is no pride of accomplishment or prosperity and only when there is a surplus of prosperity, are we able to dedicate time to other endeavors that make life worth living.

Without incentive to work, without anything to focus the mind, the human becomes not more than a mote of dust in the air, serving no purpose other than existing without mental or physical effort; a bivalve at least filters something out of the ocean and aids the food chain. Where is there joy in such human existence?

We all know the games played by humans since the dawn of written language and by extrapolation, likely since descending from the trees. Many histories document the efforts by some to dominate others to receive benefits not due them by their labor. It runs through virtually all civilizations we know of. Aesop noted the situations and documented the results in a manner useful to alert future generations, assuming they could read and reason. Machiavelli wrote to the opposite end, in assistance of those who would so seek power.

Anyone telling you that “the government” will provide for whatever they face is an utopian fool. Government produces nothing, it only consumes and re-distributes what it takes from others (most, inefficiently at that). One can ask, why does government want to do this? The answer is simple, taking from those who produce and giving to those who do not, ensures the “do nots” will continue voting for those who “give” them what they have not earned. Government is costly and tends to expand if not checked by the producers, after all, the bigger an organization the more coercive and amorphously difficult to control it becomes. This benefiting those taking , especially where they can vote or steal for themselves ever increasing income and dodge all responsibility for resulting destruction.

A famous lady once said “the problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money” and that there is the crux of the matter. We are at a point where one group promises “utopia”, otherwise known as the ability to live off others without working or producing value, while coercing the productive group that does actual work to give up ever more of their labor to be re-distributed.

Are we at the point where those that work simply decide enough is enough?

Have you ever have mused why most of the takers in government “leadership” are such dour, sour and conniving people? I posit it is because they know the game cannot go on forever and so live with that inbuilt fear of retribution. The 17 million or so in the bureaucracy? They know they owe their jobs to the first lot (note it is not fear of We the People, as they are unelected) and dimly fear the gravy might stop. Killjoys all and far too many. The sole groups truly needed and appreciated being the military and those that support civil society, the latter of which are really State level and should never be Federal.

Sic Pacem, Para Bellum. and repatriate all the bloody manufacturing and enterprise that supports America.
