It is a late morning here in my office perched between the two stadiums in Seattle. It’s been a weird morning here in the hotel and I hit the bricks running when I arrived here at 0400. It is now 1115 hrs and this is the first chance I’ve had to sit down and dash something off for you to ponder.
You are pondering what I write, aren’t you? Really?
Okay, so the news of the day is that Kamala Harris has presumably picked a person with little or no baggage to run as her understudy to the POTUS. The man in waiting.
So who is Tim Walz, you ask?
Don’t feel bad, if you don’t know, then you are part of the 71% of the American population who has never heard of him.
Tim Walz is the governor of Minnesota. He is also a former National Guardsman, a teacher and he previously served 12 years in Congress, representing a conservative-leaning rural district that, both before and after his tenure, has been mostly dominated by Republicans.
“He talks and looks like a lot of the voters we’ve lost to Trump,” said a longtime Democratic operative who was supportive of Walz from the day President Joe Biden stepped aside.
He apparently knows how to tie his own shoes and not to wander out onto a freeway.
He is also pretty adept at mocking both Trump and Vance and the MAGA movement in general.
At any rate, this is the guy that won the Democratic Veep Sweeps this time around.

You go one ahead with your stroll through the Twilight Zone, Walz is directly responsible for the myriad of decisions that allowed MN to burn during the “Floyd” riots, the BLM mayhem and the anti cop attitude in Minneapolis. As if that is not enough he is a darling of the teacher’s union. No thanks bro. I left a socialist country to emigrate here and the parallels of what was going on in 1968/70 back in the old country is becoming more and more apparent here to one who lived through it before
Other than his recent viral term of ‘Weird’, I really know next to nothing about the guy. I hope that you haven’t somehow come to the conclusion that I endorse the Harris/Walz ticket.
I don’t, at this time, nor do I expect to endorse anyone. That could change as we get closer, but I have NO intention of voting in the year 2024. So far I’ve kept to that pledge.
Why am I not voting, you ask? Thank you for asking! (I can hear you thinking)
There’s no reason for me to vote. I could write in ‘Terapod’ in all the write-in slots and it would make just as much difference as if I voted a straight ballot. Washington is going for Harris/Walz if I were somehow able to mail in five hundred ballots and not get immediately busted for it.
Besides, there is no universe where I would ever vote for Donald Trump, and I am not all that enamoured with Kamala Harris. Maybe I will grow to like her, but I wouldn’t hold my breath at this point. RFK Jr? When he said he had ‘brain worms’, it explained a lot to me..
So no, no matter how I vote, it would be mathematically impossible for it to make any kind of difference, so why bother?
If I had a backdoor to the Matrix, I would do away with the Electoral College and make it a straight popular vote for president. I would also make it interesting, by making the runner up the Vice President. It would automatically make the President of the Senate a member of the opposition.
