Major Cleanup in Back…

I had an epiphany earlier this morning (or it could have just been a brain fart) and I started wondering just how much space is free on this server.  Could this be part of the problem with the way this joint has been acting lately?

I know that in twenty-two years of being on this server, there would be a HUGE database, and umpteen number of files, photos, audio and video files stuck in various places over the years.  There was a point a few years ago when I tried to prune a lot of it out, but the server was slow, and it would have taken a month to pull the junk off.  So it’s been sitting in this “junk” folder on the server collecting more and more crap because it would take too long to delete it using an FTP client.  Excruciatingly sloow.

Well, lucky me.  I found out that I could shell on in here and remove giant chunks of data from the server.  I’ve also deleted every post prior to 2016.  If you still want to read that stuff, it’s available on the Wayback…

It took me the better part of the day to weed out all of the trash.  It’s gone forever and ever and ever now.  As if it never existed here.

Let’s see if I can post this thing.  Then, let’s see if I can come back and edit it, and add images without getting locked out again.
