It is a Friday morning, about four hours after I first tried to access this site. It’s slow, sluggish, and seems to have a DNS propagation issue. I don’t think it’s a server issue, I think it is a DNS issue, and I think it may be related to the SSL Certification that keeps popping in and out.
Here are the headlines that caught my eye this morning:
- Seven wild plot twists that could upend the 2024 election
- Trump drops suit against former lawyer Michael Cohen
- Trump is learning he can’t say whatever he wants while on trial
- Delta is fourth major U.S. airline to find fake jet aircraft engine parts
- El Chapo sons executing own dealers for not complying with fentanyl ban
- Biden Will Build Stretch of Border Wall and Begin Deportations to Venezuela
- Here Is Every Book Banned in America
And now my stupid commentary.
Remember
, I haven’t actually read the articles attached to the headlines. This is what makes it fun. Let’s see what I get right or wrong.
- I can think of a not-so-wild plot twist off the top of my head: Either Trump or Biden dies or becomes incapacitated physically and/or mentally. I mean, that’s pretty much on the top of the list for most of us, isn’t it? Number two, would be some third-party moderate who can pull enough votes from the two major parties to win. It certainly wouldn’t be RFK Jr…
- Trump drops frivolous law suit against a potential witness against him in his current lawsuit. See? I didn’t have to read the article at all. He’s starting to receive some behavior-binding gag orders from the courts, and having a lawsuit going on against a potential witness in his current case which has the potential of separating him from much of his money and property if the judge considers it to be “ill-gotten gains”. Disgorgement is the legal word of the week.
- The idea that Trump is “learning” anything is ridiculous. Old dog, new tricks, and all that. He may be convinced to tone it down, if he spends a few hours in a jail cell just to get a taste. Courts are never going to allow the defendant to sabotage a case and delay justice. Contempt of Court incarceration is the typical way a court gets the offending party’s attention.
- Fake jet parts. Translation: They weren’t inspected and bought off by federal aviation officials. Every part that goes onto an aircraft is manufactured using inspected materials, utilizing specified steps and inspected after each step to be within a +/-0.030″ tolerance of design specifications, finished and date-stamped with the part number using a specific marking method, then each part is recorded and tracked to the plane it is eventually installed on. I know this because I once worked for a Boeing vendor making parts for commercial and military aircraft. I did it for about eighteen months, when I was going to school, but I am sure that it hasn’t changed a bit in all those years. I’m sure the tolerances on the engines are a lot tighter, which makes the idea of ‘fake’ parts on a jet aircraft engine to be alarming, at the least.
- This was a heart-warming story. It’s nice to see that El Chapo’s children are trying to clean up their industry. Fentanyl gives them such a bad name. People like their recreational drugs to be pure, green, and sustainable. Besides, too many famous dumb shits are dying.
- I can honestly say that I didn’t see this one coming. To be honest, I’ve given up on arguing about a wall. They aren’t impenetrable, they can be easily defeated if given the right equipment. For example, I could rent a crane truck to lift a bus full of migrants right over the wall to the other side. (that was right off the top of my head just a second ago after a bong hit LOL)
- Okay, this one I have to admit, that I’ve seen the list already. I remember that all versions of “The Bible” is banned in at least one district in Texas, and “The Children’s Bible” is banned in Missouri. It’s strange, no other religious books are banned, just the Bible.
In today’s age, a kid only needs a Kindle to get any gull-durn book they desire. They don’t need the school library. Or the school for that matter. Let the parents decide for their individual children what they should or shouldn’t read. But a mob of parents trying to prevent other children from reading books that they don’t “approve” of? That’s bullshit.
I don’t know how long this connection is open. I’m posting now….
