Good morning from my office stashed betwixt the two stadiums in Seattle. I’ve been off for the past two days, spending my time up in Cannookistan preparing to sell my condo in Coquitlam, BC.

Well I am back. My other half is talking me into keeping the condo — because we may need it. But that is another story for another time.

I see that Israel has killed Yah ha ha ha Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7th attack last year on Israel. But if you thought this was the end of the conflict, then you haven’t been paying attention to why Netanyahu DOESN’T want this to come to an end any time soon.

And it is for entirely personal reasons.

The last walk through the tunnel

Yahya Sinwar takes his last walk through the Gaza tunnel…

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar ‘is DEAD’: Israeli officials ‘confirm terror chief has been killed in IDF Gaza strike’ local media claims

Yahya Sinwar has been eliminated in Gaza, Israeli media has reported citing senior officials, with the Hamas chief reportedly identified by his teeth and DNA tests said to be ongoing.

Israel has been investigating whether Sinwar was killed in a ground operation by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) which left three terrorists dead, with official confirmation expected in the coming hours.

Hamas sources said that indications from Gaza suggested that Sinwar had been killed in an Israeli operation, though there has not yet been any official comment from the group, which has governed the enclave for nearly two decades.

Defence minister Yoav Gallant wrote on X: ‘We will reach every terrorist – and eliminate him,’ adding soon after ‘our enemies cannot hide.’

Gallant attached a photo with a red cross over a blank slot – seemingly referencing Sinwar – between Hamas commander Mohammad Deif and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, each of whom were assassinated this year and were also crossed out.

Inside the twisted life of Yahya Sinwar

HIS life was saved twice by Israel – but the monster dubbed “The Hamas Bin Laden” repaid his sworn enemy by masterminding the October 7 horror.

Yahya Sinwar, 61, spent 22 years in an Israeli prison for terrorist murder and kidnap plots and spent every second honing his burning hatred for his captors.

His astonishing rise to the top of the Hamas terror tree came despite being sentenced to four life sentences in 1989 for planning the abduction and killing of two Israeli soldiers and the murder of four Palestinians he suspected of working with Israel.

The bearded beast’s life was first saved when he was cured of cancer by an operation in a prison.

Then in 2011 he was freed, among 1,026 others, in a prisoner exchange for a single Israeli soldier in a deal that has been damned by his thousands of victims ever since.

Sinwar taught himself Hebrew and became fluent during his multiple stints as a caged man.

He began reading and studying every Israeli newspaper to probe the weak spots in his enemy’s armour.

The terror master’s deep knowledge of what makes Israelis tick led him to realise the power of the hostage-taking tactic now traumatising the strife-torn Jewish nation.

Yet despite his blood lust and bravado, the Hamas commander “cried like a baby” when he learned he had cancer, his jailer Lieutenant Betty Lahat has revealed.

Netanyahu promises more war, dashing peace hopes after Hamas leader killed

JERUSALEM/CAIRO, Oct 18 (Reuters) – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s promises to press on with Israel’s wars in Gaza and Lebanon dashed hopes on Friday that the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar might help end more than a year of escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Lebanese militant group Hezbollah meanwhile vowed to escalate fighting against Israel and its backer Iran said “the spirit of resistance” would be strengthened by the death of its Palestinian ally Sinwar in Gaza.

Sinwar, a mastermind of the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that triggered the Gaza war, was killed during an operation by Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian enclave on Wednesday, a pivotal event in the year-long conflict.

“The war, my dear ones, is not yet over,” Netanyahu told Israelis, saying fighting would continue until hostages held by Hamas are released.

THIS is the reason why we need to shut off weapons shipments to Israel. Netanyahu does not give a flying fuck about hostages — most of them are expected to already be dead. If he was concerned, he would have gone for a ceasefire a long long time ago, and he certainly wouldn’t have given the IDF permission to shoot anything that moves in Gaza, including hostages.

This war will last as long as Biden is still president, because if Kamala Harris is elected in a couple of weeks, Netanyahu’s leadership will end and he will finally end up in prison where he belongs.

But that’s just MY opinion, and I’m sticking with it. You are more than welcome to your own opinions on this. I’m certainly not going to hold it against you.

The ‘Preposterous’ Assassination Attempt…

Armed MAGA fan arrested outside Trump rally sues sheriff over ‘preposterous’ claim he was potential assassin

A Las Vegas man who was arrested with two firearms outside a Trump rally in California last weekend insists he was wrongly portrayed as a would-be assassin by the county sheriff, accusing the lawman of cobbling together an entirely phony narrative in a misplaced bid for glory.

Vem Miller says Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco — a dedicated Trumper who is himself under investigation by California Attorney General Rob Bonta over allegations of widespread civil rights violations — “intentionally, maliciously and with a blatant disregard for the truth, wanted to create a narrative so as to be viewed as a ‘heroic’ Sheriff who saved Presidential candidate Trump from a third assassination attempt,” according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Poor, stupid Vern. After hearing that there were already two attempts on Donald Trump’s life, somehow this genius thought it would be a great thing to come to a Trump rally armed. In the State of California, no less.

Yeah, I get it: Second Amendment, yada yada yada. But seriously, we are talking about a presidential candidate with massive Secret Service protection, already under a Congressional microscope for a botched attempt on Trump’s life that never should have gotten as far as it did.

Why did this guy think it would be alright to hang around such an event without ending up in a pickle himself?

I’m going with “stupidity”, and he probably should suck up the penalty.

Donald Trump being in ‘Mental Decline’ is not really news

“Not able to run for two weeks”: Trump cancels NRA rally appearance amid decline concerns

Former President Donald Trump abruptly cancelled an appearance at an NRA event in Savannah, Georgia, fueling public concerns about his mental state.

Trump was slated to headline the “Defend the 2nd” rally on Oct. 22. The Trump campaign cited a scheduling conflict in pulling out of that event, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The gun advocacy group later scrapped the entire event.

The cancellation follows an appearance at the Economic Club of Chicago on Tuesday, in which interviewer John Micklethwait repeatedly pressed Trump on his rambling non-answers and topic changes. A day before that appearance, Trump similarly confused an audience at a Pennsylvania town hall when he paused questions for over half an hour to sway along to his playlist on stage.

Trump has been on a cancellation tear, pulling out of several planned interviews in recent days.

Trump’s decline is too dangerous to ignore

We can see the decline in the former president’s ability to hold a train of thought, speak coherently, or demonstrate a command of the English language, to say nothing of policy. So why are Republicans and the press holding Trump to a different standard than Biden?

Donald Trump’s answer to a question about child-care costs last month was eye-opening — not because of what it said about his agenda if he were to return to the Oval Office but what it said about his ability to do the job.

Asked at an economic forum in New York what specific legislation he would back to make child care more affordable, Trump rambled incomprehensibly for nearly two minutes without answering the question.

“Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down,” Trump said. “You know, I was somebody — we had, Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka, was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about — that, because look, child care is child care, couldn’t — you know, there’s something — you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers, compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to.”

The rest of his answer provided no clarification about a connection between import tariffs — if that is what Trump was referencing — and child-care costs. The lack of context, or even complete sentences, made his comments as clear as mud.

Apparently, there are two standards of competency. There is the Joe Biden Standard, in which a candidate of 83 years with a well-known speech impediment is “too slow” and in “mental decline” to continue to run for president. Then we have the Donald Trump Standard in which a candidate just 720 days younger than Joe Biden has serious trouble keeping on track and will mangle words and phrases — without a known speech impediment.

We have been watching Donald Trump devolve right before our eyes over the past eight years, and this devolvement has been accelerating exponentially over the past two years. The man will soon be finger-painting with his own dookie in another year or so…

Tesla Patrol Cars?

California police struggle with ‘unusable’ Tesla patrol cars after going green

California Police departments are using electric Tesla patrol cars in a new green initiative – but complaints have emerged about the vehicles.

The change comes after California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law that all vehicles will be zero-emission by 2035 – and one police department, Irvine, bought a $150,000 Cybertruck.

It has led to a few learning curve issues, like considerations about the need for the vehicle to charge while a criminal is in the back.

While Teslas are not a bad idea for patrol cars, it can be an awful expensive one. Unlike most patrol cars which are usually on the road for three shifts a day, seven days a week, a Tesla has a period of time each day which is required to recharge the batteries. A fast charge may charge the battery faster, but the range isn’t nearly as much as if it were being charged on a normal charge of eight hours.

A police department would have to buy three times the number of vehicles it currently has in order to properly charge each vehicle in order to last throughout a shift.

"Well, ya gotta have someone to yell at"

  1. I am all for rooting out every last Hamas terrorist in Israel. A ceasefire just allows them to regenerate. Hostage exchanges just encourage them to commit more. More war now means less war later.

    However.

They should not currently be receiving any aid from us. This is asymmetric warfare that Israel cannot lose. Hamas/Hezbollah are simply incapable of conquering and destroying Israel. Ukraine however is actually fighting a battle for survival. All of our current aid to Israel should be sent Ukraine’s way instead.

    1. I begin to wonder how many MORE Hamas fighters get created as Israel pounds Gaza into dust, and expands the same to the West Bank and now Lebanon. The fighters today were once the orphaned kids of the previous group of fighters. They grew up angry and deprived and the only ‘enemy’ they see was the source of their anger and deprivation.

It seems that ever fifteen to twenty years the next batch of damaged kids grow up and decide to take on Israel. Israel bats them back down with major destruction, creating the next batch who will no doubt rise up again in say, 2040ish.

It seems to me that during the “downtime” of fighting, that Israel proactively try and change the trajectory of this group of kids, by providing constructive programming and opportunities as a diversion from the status quo.

As far as Ukraine goes, we have a responsibility to defend and provide weapons to Ukraine because of an agreement we made with them in exchange for giving up their nuclear weapons left over from the Cold War. It seems that a lot of Republicans seem to have forgotten that.
