Well, good fucking morning from my office stashed betwixt the two stadiums in Seattle. It is a Friday and I’ve just finished scouring the InterTubes to find the freshest piles of dung to share with you like a cat would bring a dead mouse home to share.
It is how I arrived at the headline here…
I specifically looked for the absurd this morning — because I needed a good laugh.
So in the vein of Stephen Colbert’s “Meanwhile” segment, I’ve asked my AI assistant to come up with the following:
“Folks, if you watch the show, you know I spend most of my time right over there in the news kitchen, slow-roasting the week’s most savory, topical stories, basting them in a reduction of current events to serve you the perfectly seasoned filet mignon of my monologue. But sometimes, folks, on a day like Friday, January 23, 2025, the kitchen catches fire—again. As flames continue to consume Los Angeles, we’re greeted by headlines of mob bosses holding emergency meetings, the kind of gatherings where ‘hand hygiene’ takes on a whole new meaning. Meanwhile, society grapples with bold declarations about the so-called ‘end of transsexuals,’ leaving everyone scratching their heads—and maybe other parts. And in the smoldering chaos of it all, folks, I whip up the charred and slightly unhinged dumpster casserole of news that is my segment, Meanwhile.”
In case you’ve never seen this segment, here is an example:
Well, I have my program monitor set up. I have one camera and one source hooked up. I have two more Blackmagic Design studio cameras to hook up when my new reclining love seat arrives tomorrow for my music review program.
That black box thing on the tripod is my teleprompter with a Blackmagic Designs studio camera inside. If you look real close, you can see the lens inside.
If my wife gets her way, I may be doing news and current affairs reactions as well. But she has to get her way first, and I am not guaranteeing anything. If I do, maybe I will call it …. naw.
Well, let’s get on with this, shall we?
Bruce Again, Naturally
Caitlyn Jenner was brutally mocked for supporting President Donald Trump even after he signed an executive order recognizing only two genders.
Jenner, one of the most recognizable transgender women in the world, has backed Trump since 2016 and is a longtime Republican.
‘Congratulations Mr. President. Thanks be to God!’ Jenner posted on X the afternoon Trump was inaugurated.
The backlash was swift, with many people calling her ‘Bruce’, calling her a hypocrite for supporting a man who is so opposed to her community, and replying with pictures of her before she transitioned.
‘So Bruce how does it feel now that Trump signed an executive order that there are only two immutable genders, and your gender will need to be reflected accurately,’ one person wrote. ‘How’s it feel to be a guy again?’
‘Sure, whatever. He just EO’d you back to Bruce,’ another replied with a picture attached of Jenner from the 1990s, years before she underwent her transition in 2015.
‘You got about half an hour left as ma’am and it’s back to sir for you Bruce,’ a third wrote in response.
A fourth simply replied: ‘You’re a disgrace to your entire community.’
Jenner also made a series of Instagram posts on Inauguration Day. In one, she declared she was ‘happier than ever’ supporting Trump.
That post was similarly full of derisive comments attacking the former Olympian and one-time gold medalist.
On Wednesday night, she posted a picture of herself outside the Starlight Inaugural Ball, alongside Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi, Trump lawyer Alina Habba, Jeanine Pirro and longtime friend Sophia Hutchins.
This post had comments restricted, preventing an influx of abuse which she is experiencing on X.
During his inaugural address, Trump made the official declaration that there are only two genders amid promises to rename the Gulf of Mexico, end ‘America’s decline’ and repel the ‘invasion’ of migrations at the southern border.
‘As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders – male and female,’ he said, prompting a standing ovation from within the Capitol Rotunda.
Trump reiterated and expanded on that sentiment in an executive order he signed on Inauguration Day titled: ‘Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.’
‘It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality,’ the order read.
MY TAKE:
Wait. Trump didn’t make an exception for his number one transgender supporter? Did ol’ Brucey Woosey think that Trump really gives a flying fuck about him/her?
To me, its the same thing as Trump running for the “common man”, but as soon as he takes office, he surrounds himself with nothing but Billionaires.
Get it through your minds: Now that Trump has been elected, he can can forget about you now. He no longer needs you or your support. It’s not like he’s ever going to run for office again.
The Mob Boss? Of the Gang who couldn’t shoot straight?
Is Trump’s ‘mob-boss’ rule of relying on snitches a productive way to run the country?
US president believes federal employees ratting each other out will rid America of the deep state… but strategy has issues
Within hours of being returned to the White House on Monday, Donald Trump set his America first agenda roaring into motion, predicated on a network of snitches to rout out the “enemies from within”.
With the firm stroke of each black fountain pen, the new US president signed a series of executive orders aimed at granting him more control over the federal bureaucracy and dismantling what he calls the “deep state”.
In addition to piling on the legislative pressure, Mr Trump is encouraging federal employees to turn on those that disobey his decree and snitch on them.
Memos sent across agencies this week encouraged staff to report any colleague continuing to pursue now-banned diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes, warning of “adverse consequences” for federal workers attempting to continue their so-called ‘woke’ work.
“We are aware of efforts by some in government to disguise these programmes by using coded or imprecise language,” the letters read.
“These programmes divided Americans by race, wasted taxpayer dollars, and resulted in shameful discrimination.”
During his first term, Mr Trump encouraged bosses to snitch on employees who were refusing to return to the office after the pandemic.
As it did then, the decree has struck fear in workers who face being put on paid leave “immediately” and eventually laid off if their job is connected to DEI work.
But the ‘mob boss’ playbook, which relies on touts to stamp out disloyalty, may be counterproductive to the very blockade it tries to remove.
“It is a huge time sync once you encourage employees to start complaining about each other, “ Peter Cappelli, professor of management at the Wharton School of Business and director for the Center for Human Resources at the University of Pennsylvania, said.
“If you are reporting people, employees doing something wrong, the manager has to look into it and looking into it is incredibly time consuming.
“You basically have to be prosecutor, jury and judge all at the same time. You have to also think about if the person complaining is making this up.”
MY TAKE:
I’ve heard the comparison of Trump to a mob boss before, and while Trump may like to think of himself along those lines, the reality is that he make a lousy mob boss.
Another Amendment Being Ignored
Newark business “raided” by ICE agents, mayor says, multiple people detained
NEWARK, N.J. — The mayor of Newark, New Jersey, said federal Immigration agents “raided” a local business Thursday.
Mayor Ras Baraka said in a statement that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained multiple people, including United States citizens, a U.S. military veteran and undocumented individuals. According to Baraka, the agents did not produce a warrant.
“This egregious act is in plain violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” Baraka said in part in a statement. “Newark will not stand by idly while people are being unlawfully terrorized.”
Newark is considered a so-called “sanctuary city.”
A spokesperson for ICE told CBS News New York in a statement late Thursday that it conducted a “targeted enforcement operation at a worksite today in Newark, New Jersey.”
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement may encounter U.S. citizens while conducting field work and may request identification to establish an individual’s identity as was the case during a targeted enforcement operation at a worksite today in Newark, New Jersey,” the statement read. “This is an active investigation and, per ICE policy, we cannot discuss ongoing investigations.”
The owner of Ocean Seafood Depot, located at Adams and Delancey streets, told CBS News New York that about one dozen ICE agents came in unannounced at around 11 a.m. Eastern Time, asking to see documentation of his employees.
“They didn’t have a court order or, I mean, I didn’t even ask,” he said.
The owner said his manager tried to show his veteran’s card, but the agents did not accept it.
“A couple of the guys couldn’t show their identification,” the owner said. “Twenty-six years in business, I never seen anything like this.”
The owner said three people were taken into custody.
Surveillance video showed what appears to be federal immigration agents taking a man into custody outside the fish market.
When asked whether the operation would deter his other employees from coming to work Friday, he responded, “Yes, exactly. That’s the question. That’s not really helping my business, obviously, or any business.”
MY TAKE:
Unless Trump has declared martial law and suspended the US Constitution, federal, state, and local law enforcement — including ICE — would be required to serve a warrant before raiding any home, or place of business.
Trump is not the first POTUS to try and deport people he didn’t like back to Mexico or “wherever they came from”. Eisenhower did it in the 1950s, which ended up sending about a million people out of the country before it was shut down. But even Eisenhower wasn’t the first. President Herbert Hoover deported around 1.8 million Hispanics from California to Mexico under a bill called The Mexican Repatriation Act of 1930.
It turns out that most of those deported then were actually American citizens — which ended up shuttering the program.
Making Masturbation Illegal… Who is going to enforce this?
Mississippi lawmaker introduces ‘Contraception Begins at Erection Act’
The bill, which is unlikely to pass, would make it unlawful for “a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo.”
Mississippi state Sen. Bradford Blackmon, a Democrat, introduced a bill this week that would seemingly ban men from masturbating or engaging in other sexual acts when they have no “intent to fertilize an embryo.”
The bill, titled the “Contraception Begins at Erection Act,” would make it unlawful for “a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo.” It includes exceptions for sperm donation and using contraception to prevent fertilization.
The bill, introduced Monday, would impose fines of $1,000 for a first offense, $5,000 for a second offense and $10,000 for any subsequent offenses.
The bill is unlikely to pass the GOP-led Legislature, but if it does and is signed into law by Gov. Tate Reeves, a Republican, it would go into effect in July.
Blackmon, a first-term senator representing a district north of Jackson, the capital, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
In a statement to NBC affiliate WLBT of Jackson, Blackmon referred to the high number of state legislative bills introduced in recent years that target women’s access to reproductive health care, specifically abortion and contraception.
MY TAKE:
Okay, the likelihood of this ever becoming law is slim to none. But the question I have is:
Who is going to enforce this law?
Moving on from the news…
There was nothing this Bishop said in her sermon that didn’t have it’s roots in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I mean, Jesus himself could have been standing there giving this sermon and Donald Trump would have still had that stupid scowl on his mug.

Stolen Valor
Okay. I’ve got a mixed reaction to this one.
Let me start by stating that I do not know the whole story here. Like, what caused the “Secret Service” guy to start getting into the other guy’s face in the first place?
On the one hand, The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 specifically makes it a crime to falsely claim military service, embellished rank, or earned awards with the intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefits. Under this amended act, fraudulent claims regarding military service are subject to a fine, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
Public Law No: 113-12 (06/03/2013)
(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.)
Stolen Valor Act of 2013 – Amends the federal criminal code to rewrite provisions relating to fraudulent claims about military service to subject to a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both an individual who, with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit, fraudulently holds himself or herself out to be a recipient of:
• any replacement or duplicate medal for such medal as authorized by law.
• a Congressional Medal of Honor,
• a distinguished-service cross,
• a Navy cross,
• an Air Force cross,
• a silver star,
• a Purple Heart,
• a Combat Infantryman’s Badge,
• a Combat Action Badge,
• a Combat Medical Badge,
• a Combat Action Ribbon,
• a Combat Action Medal, or
• any replacement or duplicate medal for such medal as authorized by law.
The guy in the BDU-style uniform didn’t appear to have any ribbons, awards, or medals. So he wouldn’t be in violation of federal law. Which means the guy who identified himself as a Secret Service agent is completely out of line — and could end up in jail himself for assault and maybe even attempted rape.
I know that if I were the guy in the BDU-styled uniform (“IF” being the operative word here, because you aren’t likely to see me wearing any kind of military-styled jacket or uniform) I would probably have wiped up the interior of that bus with that midget SS agent.
At the very least, I would have had the guy’s Secret Service badge number — right after I called a real cop to press charges.
Look, I get it: Stolen Valor is a crime and should be punished. But people wear surplus military clothing all the fucking time, for whatever fucking reason they have, and they aren’t committing any crimes.
