Well, good morning from my joint betwixt the two stadiums in Seattle. As my well-thought-out title indicates, today is Tuesday, and the last day of my week. I plan on spending the next four days hiding out in my Hunker-Bunker.

I’ve been a bit busy the past few days. No, I haven’t been drinking myself into a stupor just because Donald Trump won the election along with both the Electoral AND the popular vote.

That’s what the heroin is for.

Seriously, I’m not losing any sleep over the election. It is what it is. I’m sure there are others who are on ‘suicide watch’ or something, but frankly, I no longer give a shit who the POTUS is. We are pretty much in our end times as it is, and there ain’t nothing I can do about it, so whining about it is pointless.

We will always get the government we deserve. ALWAYS.

I’ve got a lot of work to do today, so let’s get on with it.

Violence reignites in Amsterdam as tram set on fire days on from ‘anti-Semitic attacks’

Violence has reignited in Amsterdam days on from “anti-Semitic attacks” last week.

On Thursday night, Israeli football fans were attacked on the streets following the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Emergency measures were instituted in the Dutch city after fans, who had been filmed destroying flags and chanting anti-Arab songs, were targeted in “hit-and-run” attacks, which left five injured and 62 arrested.

On Monday night, police claimed dozens of people armed with sticks set a tram on fire.

Police said the fire was quickly extinguished and riot officers cleared the square. Images online showed people damaging property and setting off fireworks.

Amsterdam police warn of fresh calls for unrest a day after rioters torch a tram

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — A senior police officer warned Tuesday of calls for more rioting in Amsterdam, after dozens of people armed with sticks and firecrackers set a tram on fire Monday night as the city faces tensions following violence last week targeting fans of an Israeli soccer club.

Olivier Dutilh, of the Amsterdam police force, told a court hearing that “we have signals that there are calls for similar” unrest in the west of the city.

Police said the fire Monday was quickly extinguished and riot officers cleared the square. Images online showed people damaging property and setting firecrackers. There were no reports of any injuries.

Police said it was not clear who started the unrest and whether it was related to what happened last week. Some rioters could be heard on video shared on social media using slurs against Jewish people.

Police noted the tense atmosphere since five people were treated in the hospital and dozens detained Thursday following a Maccabi Tel Aviv-Ajax match. Youths on scooters and on foot went in search of Israeli fans, punching and kicking them and then fleeing to evade police, according to Amsterdam’s mayor.

‘Cancer Jews’: Trams set alight, violence erupts in Amsterdam in second wave of violence

Pro-Palestine protestors had clashed with riot police earlier in the day at Amsterdam’s central Dam Square, leading to over 50 arrests.

One of the city’s famous trams was set alight by rioters dressed in black and armed with fireworks, according to De Telegraaf. The rioters threw debris and shouted “Kanker Joden” (cancer Jews), but it is used to mean “fuck the Jews.”

A police spokesman said a tram at the ’40-’45 Square in the west part of Amsterdam had caught fire, likely caused by fireworks thrown at it. The windows of the tram were shattered.

No one was injured in the incident, as the tram had been empty, the spokesman said.

Masked men reportedly roamed the streets yelling “Free Palestine.” De Telegraaf reported that journalists witnessed a bystander being ripped from his bike and beaten by the rioters.

It was later reported that private vehicles and bikes were destroyed.

The young rioters reportedly actively sought to confront officers.

Israel lashes out at ‘very low’ number of arrests made after ‘Jew hunt’ attack on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in Amsterdam – as Paris deploys 4,000 cops for France-Israel clash

Israel is furious at the ‘very low’ number of arrests made in Amsterdam

Israel has lashed out at the ‘very low’ number of arrests made in the wake of the attack on Maccab Tel Aviv fans in Amsterdam.

Newly appointed Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar told reporters in Jerusalem on Monday that Israel deemed the number of arrests over clashes in Amsterdam last week ‘very low’.

‘I was informed by the mayor of Amsterdam that they formed a special inquiry team, but I can tell that until now, the number of arrests is very low,’ Saar said.

Israel had offered to help investigate the violence that broke out in Amsterdam on Thursday following a football match between Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv and the hosts Ajax.

The Post-Election Relief

Travel Company Invites Americans To ‘Skip’ Trump Presidency With 4-Year Cruise Around The World

The company also named its two-year package ‘Mid-Term Selection’ referring to the upcoming 2026 midterm elections

Just days after Donald Trump emerged victorious in the 2024 elections, a cruise line company is offering a four-year package for customers to “Skip Forward” to avoid his presidency.

“Residents have the flexibility to join their customized journey at any port during the continuous global adventure for up to 4 years,” said the company, Villa Vie Residences.

The company announced its “Skip Forward” program, priced at around $40,000 a year, last Thursday, one day after Trump was declared the victor of the 2024 presidential race.

One can also purchase the entire four-year package at once, priced at either $159,999 per head for a room for two or $255,999 for a single-occupancy cabin, reported Fox Business.

What science reveals about our tendency toward corruption

A bribery experiment involving people from 18 countries reveals that the phenomenon is largely subject to circumstance

A year-long experiment was conducted at the self-service checkouts of a supermarket chain in Modena and Ferrara in Italy to test whether there was any link between corruption scandals and how honest consumers were with their shopping. Analyzing data from random checks on the supermarket carts, the researchers found that the probability of not declaring all the purchases increased by 16% to 30% after a local corruption scandal made headlines. The effect reached its peak four days after the news broke, then tailed off. It was defined as contagious corruption.

According to academics, corruption is the abuse of power for private gain, but it can take many forms: bribery, embezzlement, extortion and fraud. It began to be studied in the 1990s by economists using the theory of rational choice and the so-called rational crime model. The prestigious researcher Robert Klitgaard summarized it by saying that corruption is not a crime of passion, but a crime of calculation. And people who choose to be corrupt are making very explicit calculations — namely, how much profit they can make, how likely they are to get caught and the consequences if they are.

Get the fuck out of my Genes

Genetic Discrimination Is Coming for Us All

The news came four years ago, at the end of a casual phone call. Bill’s family had always thought it was a freak coincidence that his father and grandfather both had ALS. But at the end of a catch-up, Bill’s brother revealed that he had a diagnosis too. The familial trend, it turned out, was linked to a genetic mutation. That meant Bill might also be at risk for the disease.

An ALS specialist ordered Bill a DNA test. While he waited for results, he applied for long-term-care insurance. If he ever developed ALS, Bill told me, he wanted to ensure that the care he would need as his nerve cells died and muscles atrophied wouldn’t strain the family finances. When Bill found out he had the mutation, he shared the news with his insurance agent, who dealt him another blow: “I don’t expect you to be approved,” he remembers her saying.

Bill doesn’t have ALS. He’s a healthy 60-year-old man who spends his weekends building his dream home by hand. A recent study of mutations like his suggests that his genetics increase his chances of developing ALS by about 25 percent, on average. Most ALS cases aren’t genetic at all. And yet, Bill felt like he was being treated as if he was already sick. (Bill asked to be identified by his first name only, because he hasn’t disclosed his situation to his employer and worried about facing blowback at work too.)

Scientists warn men could become extinct due to ‘testicle mutations’

After 180 million years, the Y chromosome has continued to deteriorate, leaving the future of men unknown as experts say testicles play a huge role in cultivating the DNA component

Scientists warn that the male species could become extinct as Y chromosomes are beginning to fail.

The gender of both humans and mammals are determined by X and Y chromosomes, which are thread-like structures that contain DNA and proteins in the body. Men have X and Y, while women have two X chromosomes. They only make up 4% of a person’s DNA, though arguably create the biggest difference in someone’s life.

Worryingly, boffins are now suggesting that the Y chromosome is decreasing, which could mean a future without men. The Y chromosome is tiny, with only 45 genes on the Y chromosome and only one gene which makes a male.

What does Warren Buffet Know?

Does Warren Buffett Know Something That We Don’t?

Berkshire Hathaway is hoarding cash in a pattern seen before the financial crisis, but it has a new reason this time

When the world’s most-followed investor doesn’t feel comfortable investing, should the rest of us be worried?

Warren Buffett, who has quipped that his favorite holding period for a stock is “forever,” continues to have substantial money at work in American companies. But he has never taken this much off the table either—a whopping $325 billion in cash and equivalents, mostly in the form of Treasury bills.

To appreciate the immensity of that hoard, consider that it would allow Berkshire to write a check, with change left over, for all but the 25 or so most-valuable listed U.S. corporations—iconic ones such as Walt Disney, Goldman Sachs, Pfizer, General Electric or AT&T. In addition to letting the dividends and interest pile up on its balance sheet, the conglomerate has aggressively sold down two of its largest shareholdings, Apple and Bank of America, in the past several months. And, for the first time in six years, it has stopped buying more of the stock it knows best—Berkshire Hathaway.

Does that mean mere investing mortals should be cautious about the market? Maybe, but it tells us even more about Berkshire.

Oh, Wait. Were you expecting me to comment on any of this today?

I’ll leave the commenting up to y’all, I’ve got other things to do.
