Good morning from my office perched between the two stadiums in Seattle. It is a Saturday morning and I am back in Seattle after spending the past few days at our Point Ruston property in Tacoma. It’s a VERY nice place, but boy howdy, what a commute. I think I would rather endure living next to a sewage treatment plant than have to make that slog to and from work every day. Fuckin’ A.

While I’ve been actively ignoring the news lately, sometimes events make it almost impossible NOT to see or hear something that grabs your attention and causes you to think, “well, that’s not normal…” or “that’s pretty fucked up…”

My drive into work this morning caused me to hear a couple of stories on the radio that fit both of those thoughts — “this is absolutely nuts!” and “That’s fucking CRAZY!”

So, today I will share the news that caught my attention when I wasn’t really looking.

Trump Floats the Idea of Executing Joint Chiefs Chairman Milley

The former president is inciting violence against the nation’s top general. America’s response is distracted and numb.

Late Friday night, the former president of the United States—and a leading candidate to be the next president—insinuated that America’s top general deserves to be put to death.

That extraordinary sentence would be unthinkable in any other rich democracy. But Donald Trump, on his social-media network, Truth Social, wrote that Mark Milley’s phone call to reassure China in the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH.” (The phone call was, in fact, explicitly authorized by Trump-administration officials.) Trump’s threats against Milley came after The Atlantic’s publication of a profile of Milley, by this magazine’s editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg, who detailed the ways in which Milley attempted to protect the Constitution from Trump.

A lot of things that Trump belches out at his rallies and on Xitter are just the ramblings of an old man. Some of it is vague enough that it could be construed several different ways. This is not one of those incidents. There was no “insinuation” in what Trump was saying: he definitely thinks that General Mark Millie should be put to death. There was no ambiguity or ‘insinuation’ in his statement. He literally threatened the life of a retired US General.

Speaking of crap that Trump says…

FAUX and Fiends Laugh off Trump’s Death Threats against Cheney

The hosts of Fox & Friends went to bat for former President Donald Trump on Friday morning, blasting Liz Cheney and Matt Drudge for what they deemed a “totally irresponsible” interpretation of Trump’s comments about Cheney during a Thursday night event hosted by Tucker Carlson.

At the event, Trump blasted Cheney as “stupid” and a “warhawk,” before suggesting that she’d behave differently if there were guns “shooting at her.” Referring to Cheney as “a very dumb individual,” he then said, “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrel shooting at her. Okay. Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

Kamala Harris came out yesterday saying that Trump threatened the life of Liz Cheney, and that his comments were ‘disqualifying’ for someone seeking the office of the Presidency.

I DON’T SEE IT.

Trumps says a lot of off-the-wall shit. There often seems to be a disconnect with his stream of thought and his mouth, and sometimes his mouth will say something that makes little or no sense at all — and the media jumps right on it as “the worst thing evah.” They’d be clutching their pearls if they had any.

I know what Trump was TRYING to say. He was trying to say that war mongers tend to be people who have never been in a war or faced such dangers, and that if Liz Cheney had been in a position of being fired upon in a hot war, she probably wouldn’t be that much of a ‘war monger’ after that.

But no, the media was going to jump on this because Trump DOES say some really fucked up things from time-to-time, and they wanted this to be no different from those other times.

I prefer to focus on the shit he does talk about, not how some people TOOK what he said out of context.

If we are going to deport people, let’s start with Elon Musk

Elon Musk predicts ‘hardship,’ economic turmoil and a stock-market crash if Trump wins — OPED

The word “bombshell” has been so grossly overused for so long that it is guaranteed to make anyone’s eyes roll. But what other word fits?

With just a week until the presidential election, Donald Trump’s close ally and major economic adviser Elon Musk is warning supporters to expect economic chaos, a crashing stock market and financial “hardship” — albeit “temporary” — if Trump wins.

It sounds so extreme that Trump fans must either wonder why he had been so foolish as to say the silent part out loud, or maybe hope that the whole story is made up — “fake news.”

But it’s very real.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with our economy right now. We are at, or doing better than we were just prior to the start of the Pandemic in 2020, Trump’s last full year in office.

The Left loves to point out that Trump lost a record number of jobs during his term and that the economy crashed because of Trump.

I’M CALLING BULLSHIT ON THAT

While it is true that the economy took a nose dive in the last year of Trump’s presidency, the crash was caused by an outside force that tanked the economy through no cause or assistance from Donald Trump or anyone else for that matter. This was a GLOBAL event that caused a GLOBAL disruption, during a time when Trump happened to be occupying the Oval Office.

The United States wasn’t the only country effected by the Pandemic. Shipping, manufacturing, and trade came to a standstill. Consumer demand outstripped the supply and this caused shortages and rising prices across the board, and it has taken almost four years to bring things back to somewhat “normal”.

Of all the G7 nations in the world, our economic practices since the pandemic has allowed the US to recover faster than most — and thanks to the Fed, we managed to recover without having to go into a full-blown recession.

Also, if we were being honest about it, we are doing better today than we were in December 2019 just prior to the COVID mess. Yeah, things may cost a bit more today than they did in December 2019, but we are making about two percent more in income adjusting for inflation than we were prior to the lockdown. So it pretty much evens out, with a few bucks more on our ledgers.

Elon Musk, on the other hand, isn’t looking out for anyone but himself.

And speaking about Elon Musk…

America Pac was warned about Trump ground game fraud months ago

America Pac, the political action committee founded by Elon Musk that has led the ground game operation for Donald Trump’s campaign, was warned in September about increasing numbers of door knocks being flagged as potentially fraudulent, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The confrontation marked the first time that America Pac’s leadership became aware of the problem – canvassers falsely claiming to have knocked on doors – that has raised the possibility that thousands of Trump voters might not be reached by the field operation.

If history teaches us anything, it is that when you pay unemployed fucknozzles $20 an hour to go knock on doors, or pay them for every signature they collect, you are going to find a lot of them will sandbag — a lot.

I know that you couldn’t pay me enough to literally go door-to-door campaigning for anyone or anything. I also know that YOU don’t want to ever show up on my doorstep trying to sell me something or someone. You may end up with some buckshot in your ample ass.

More Election Buffoonery.

Fight erupts at voting site after man won’t remove ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ hat

A fight broke out at a US polling station after a man was told to take off his “Let’s Go Brandon” hat before voting.

Footage shows a man arguing with poll workers at a voting center in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on Wednesday (Oct 30) after they insisted he remove his cap.

The man attempted to cast his vote while wearing a cap reading “Let’s Go Brandon”, a phrase that has become conservative code for “F**k Joe Biden.”

A staff member informed him that state law forbids political attire inside voting centers.

After a heated exchange, the man removed his cap and threw it to the ground.

The situation further escalated when he pointed at a female poll worker, who then hit him.

I’ve got a couple of thoughts on this incident.

  • There is a federal law against campaigning or political messaging within 500 feet of a polling place. This includes signs, pamphlets, clothing, speechifying, or otherwise promoting a candidate or initiative over another. The purpose of the law is to try and prevent
  • The gentleman wearing the “Let’s Go Brandon” hat should have simply taken his hat off when asked to do so.
  • The poll workers probably should have tried to communicate the law better. The fact that one of them actually struck the man will probably end up in her getting charged with a misdemeanor.

I think this could have been handled a whole lot better.

Some people see conspiracies around every corner

A Pennsylvania Postmaster Delivered Ballots—and Became Part of a Conspiracy Theory

Viral video shared 13 million times sparked false ballot-harvesting claims in a state already grappling with election skeptics

A viral video shared more than 13 million times since Tuesday, amplified by conservative influencers and conspiracy theorists, suggests electoral malfeasance in Pennsylvania: a man carrying what resembled a ballot-filled bin into a county election office.

In fact, the footage merely shows a postal worker performing a routine duty, according to the U.S. Postal Service and county and state officials in Pennsylvania, which has already become ground zero for election skeptics—raising alarm among officials.

This isn’t rocket science.

Early voting polling ended at 5:00 PM. Anyone in line as of 5:00 PM will be allowed to vote — even if it takes another three or four hours to take care of the entire line. But there has to be a cut-off point, so at 5:00 PM, the poll workers sent out security to mark the end of the line as of 5:00 PM. Anyone who arrived to the line after the sign was put down, is out of luck when it comes to voting.

I don’t know why this is so hard for *checking notes* thirteen million people who shared this video. Maybe try better time management skills in the future?

Speaking of Pennsylvania…

Supreme Court allows Pennsylvania to count contested provisional ballots, rejecting Republican plea

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected an emergency appeal from Republicans that could have led to thousands of provisional ballots not being counted in Pennsylvania as the presidential campaigns vie in the final days before the election in the nation’s biggest battleground state.

The justices left in place a state Supreme Court ruling that elections officials must count provisional ballots cast by voters whose mail-in ballots were rejected.

The ruling is a victory for voting-rights advocates, who had sought to force counties — primarily Republican-controlled counties — to let voters cast a provisional ballot on Election Day if their mail-in ballot was to be rejected for a garden-variety error.

What exactly is a “garden-variety error”?

If _____________________________ wins, I’m leaving the country…

Record numbers of wealthy Americans are making plans to leave the U.S. after the election

A growing number of wealthy Americans are making plans to leave the country in the run-up to Tuesday’s election, with many fearing political and social unrest regardless of who wins, according to immigration attorneys.

Attorneys and advisors to family offices and high-net-worth families said they’re seeing record demand from clients looking for second passports or long-term residencies abroad. While talk of moving overseas after an election is common, wealth advisors said this time many of the wealthy are already taking action.

“We’ve never seen demand like we see now,” said Dominic Volek, group head of private clients at Henley & Partners, which advises the wealthy on international migration.

You can’t see me right now, but I am laughing my ass off here.

As a person with a triple citizenship (US, Canada, and Israel), I know what it is like being an ‘expat’ in another country. I worked and lived for eight years in Canada as a sound engineer for one of the major studios producing some of your favorite Netflix series and movies. I came back to the US maybe three or four times in that eight-year period to visit family and friends. But for the most part, I was living and working in Canada as a Canadian.

ONE SMALL PROBLEM: Just because you have citizenship in another country and have been living there for almost forever, as long as you are still a US citizen, you owe Uncle Sam at least 15 percent of the income you earned — no matter where in the world you are living. Uncle Sam is like that mob collector — they want their money and they are going to come take it.

So if one of these Billionaire oligarchs are leaving the US to escape some ‘draconian’ tax being levied against them, then I have a huge and unpleasant surprise for them: they are going to be taxed anyways.

You say ‘elite’…

Ukraine has ALREADY wiped out 40 ‘elite’ North Korean soldiers in invaded Kursk – days after they joined Putin’s forces

CRACK Ukrainian troops have already wiped out at least 40 “elite” North Korean soldiers deployed by Vladimir Putin to regain his invaded Kursk territory.

It comes just days after thousands of soldiers from Pyongyang were sent deep inside Russia to help Moscow win its bloody war against Ukraine.

Evil Putin and ruthless dictator Kim Jong-un have been forging a close relationship to form what has been dubbed an “Axis of evil” against the West.

The tubby tyrant is now committed to helping out a desperate Putin – who has been losing a record number of men – to win back Kursk.

He has sent 10,000 troops to help them fight off Kyiv’s troops in the Kursk region and win the “holy war”.

However, up to 40 North Korean soldiers have already been killed during their first engagement with Ukrainian troops in Kursk.

The Norks haven’t been in a hot war since the mid-1950s. It is hilarious to see the Nork Generals wearing all of their medals. What are the medals for? NONE of these generals have ever seen any action. Nor has anyone else in the NorK military.

What news day is complete without Netanyahu News?

New scandal engulfs Netanyahu after close aide arrested for alleged intel leak

An aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is one of several suspects arrested for an alleged security breach that involved leaking top secret intelligence, Israeli officials said.

Why it matters: The arrests are at the center of what is likely to be the biggest scandal inside the Israeli government since the beginning of the war in Gaza.

The big question: whether Netanyahu knew or was involved in the leaks, which appear to be intended to influence Israeli public opinion to support Netanyahu’s hardline position about a deal to release hostages being held by Hamas and establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

I need some pearls to clutch.

Mark my words: Netanyahu’s days are numbered. As soon as the conflict comes to an end, Bibi will be shown the door. To his cell.

Is he practicing for time in prison?

He’s giving his mic a blowjob? Has he lost his mind?

  1. In referring to Liz Cheney he said “nine barrels.” Why would he say that if he is just talking about her being in war? It is a very clear reference to a firing squad.
