The archives are very much still there, it’s just the links are a bit messed up. Once I figure out how to hook the databases back up (which may take a bit with my non-existent HTML-fu and lack of available time), they’ll be back. But all of the content is still there.

As you may have noticed, long time Rott and Web Wizard Deej has left.

I won’t dive into anything that is for him to expand on if he so desires, just that it’s a change of priorities. We all face them, or will face them.

What I would like to do is to thank him for all that he’s done over the years. Not least jumping in here recently to rescue the Imperial Ship with plentiful applications of superglue, duct tape and bubblegum. Let’s face it: The old lady was listing heavily and taking on water.

But also for all of the years going back to only G-d knows when, when he first showed up in the comments and fired off an impressive broadside against one of yours truly’s posts. That one and many discussions/flame wars after that were truly epic and then something funny happened on the way to the office: A friendship grew out of it.

Yes, we’ve all had our times when we just had to let fly at him over some particularly egregious comment, I know that I have until I was frothing at the mouth, but remember the times when we could do that and then, at the end, agree to disagree, only to be exchanging jokes in another thread minutes later?

I do.

Glorious times.

He was, and is part of this site’s history, and he will be missed. Particularly since the quality of trolls these days is, in a couple of words, utterly deplorable.

Go with G-d, Deej, and thanks for all the fish 🙂

Thatisall.
