Final Friday of the Year

Good morning from my office perched between the two stadiums in Seattle, It is almost noon here. and I am about to hop into my unicorn and bug out of here for the day.

It’s been a very slow day here so far. I believe our projected occupancy is about twenty percent, mainly because there is nothing really going on around these parts for the next two or three weeks. Typically, this hotel doesn’t do well during the months of December and January because there really aren’t any events going on. Because this is our slow time, we can start working on some projects. But not until after New Years.

We are already expecting a major upheaval shortly after January 20th, when President(s) Musk and Trump start their deportation madness. A few of our workers have already put in notices, as they prepare to leave the country. Most of our housekeeping and laundry staff are Dreamers, and they are packing up to leave while the getting is good. This means instead of paying a starting wage of $21.50 an hour, we will probably have to start paying $30 an hour to start, otherwise we won’t get any American applicants.

How do I know this? Because we’ve already been advertising on Indeed. Nobody is responding unless the pay is listed at $30 an hour.

I see that MAGA is a bit upset over Elon’s demand that H1B visa program be expanded, not done away with. They are also bent the fuck out of shape over statements made by both Musk and Vivek Ramadamadingdong saying that Americans are too stupid to work in tech.

I’m just going to say it: the Cyber Truck is not only ugly, it is wholly impractical and from all reviews I’ve read, it is unlikely to last more than 50,000 miles before it will require major cash to repair.

If anyone ever believe that Elon Musk was ever about ‘free speech’, then I have a Space Needle and the box it came in for sale. I will even throw in a football stadium for kicks.

Elon Musk spent $277 million to get Trump elected. The purpose was to literally ‘buy’ Trump’s permission to maintain his factories in China, and to maintain his H1B visa program in order to bring workers over from India — because he can get three for the price of one American.

Yes, that is the dirty little secret behind the tech industry’s desire to expand the H1B visa program. They will claim there aren’t enough qualified American tech workers so they need to go get them from India and China. But the reality there are more than enough American tech workers — who went to the same schools as the foreign workers — but they tend to want twice or three times what the employer pays the foreign workers.

Of course they are not going to admit that…

People tend to have really short memories. They don’t remember the bullshit of a Trump Administration just four years ago. All they remember was that for three of the four years under Trump, things went fairly well economic-wise. But they AREN’T remembering how the economy was already showing signs of slipping into a recession just prior to the pandemic. There were several ‘bubbles’ that were getting ready to burst.

Then the pandemic came along, which took a giant shit on the GLOBAL economic picture and it has taken just about four years to get out from under the mess that it caused.

The Diddy/Usher grooming stories had been going on for a LONG time. It was a fairly open ‘secret’ in the industry. Even up in North Vancouver BC we were getting inside stories of the shit going on with Diddy and company.

You could even tell that Justin Bieber was ‘acting out’ because of his ‘relationship’ with Didler. Everyone in the industry knew this.

I am reminded when I was around 18, living in Bellevue Washington, I had a friend who had been kicked out of his parent’s house and ended up moving into the screen of a local drive in movie theater. It was completely enclosed, had power and he had set up house and lived there for almost a year before someone discovered him.

For the past week or so, I’ve been delving DEEP into this rabbit hole on YouTube, following this musical artist from the UK who has an AMAZING range of talent.

Ren Gill is a 34 year old musician from a tiny little town in Wales, who currently lives in Brighton UK. From the age of 17, he has been suffering autoimmune disease, illness and psychosis brought on by a tick bite which gave him a case of Lyme disease, that went misdiagnosed for almost TEN FUCKING YEARS.

He was originally diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, and bipolar. As with all things dealing with psychiatrics, there usually aren’t any ‘cures’, just various combinations of psychotropic drugs that tend to cause more issues than they solve. No two patients are the same, and it is literally a crap shoot to find just the right combination of drugs to allow the patient to cope.

He spent ten years as a ‘experiment’ before they accidentally discovered that he was testing positive for the Lyme disease markers. The problem is, that after ten years, the disease was gone, but the damage to his brain and organs were permanent.

He has been going through stem cell replacement therapy, and it seems to be helping him, but he is still in a lot of pain and still lacks his full potential.

His music reflects what he’s been going though in his life. He has self-produced a lot of his music that has tens of millions of views and hundreds of people who are doing music reviews of his work.

He is also a ‘busker’. He has been busking on the streets of Brighton since he was around sixteen, and has a HUGE following of fans who show up every time he plays.
