Good morning from my office between the two stadiums in Seattle. It is a Monday, and I just twisted the fuck out of my knee while up on the roof working on an HVAC RTU.

Great. Another six weeks of dealing with the pain…

*sigh*… If it isn’t one fucking thing, it’s another. It might be interesting driving home this afternoon. I guess I will have to do a lot of speed-shifting, since I have a manual transmission and it is my left knee that hurts.

I have ONE “News/Op” to post here, and the rest will be videos that caught my eye and maybe a meme or two. I wasn’t going to do any news crap, but I couldn’t pass this one by. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Don’t threaten me with a good time…

Trump’s Border Czar Issues Terrifying Threat to Democratic States

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and Senator Lindsey Graham had similar warnings.

In recent days, Republican politicians have taken to the airwaves, threatening blue states that fail to comply with the Trump administration’s draconian immigration policies with the withdrawal of federal funding.

Fox News’s Mark Levin suggested Sunday to Donald Trump’s prospective “border czar” Tom Homan that “federal funding” would be a “very, very powerful weapon” for the incoming administration.

“If you have a governor who says, ‘I’m not gonna cooperate, I’m gonna block you,’ well then, federal funds should be slashed to that state, and I mean hugely so,” Levin said. “These states, much like the Confederacy, they want to go on their own, they want to do their own thing. To me, you got a powerful weapon among others, which is, OK, no federal funds. Boom.”

“And that’s going to happen. I guarantee … President Trump will do that,” Homan replied.

Cool story, bro. But the reality is going to be a whole lot different, because the Administration cannot withhold federal funding from the several states. Not if it ever expects to collect it again in the future.

FUN FACT: Most of the so-called “blue states” winding sending more money to the Federal government in the form of taxes than they receive in return. Most of the so-called “red states” are basically subsidized by tax dollars from that “enemy within” that Trump railed about during the campaign.

If it were up to me, I wouldn’t let one skinny dime go the federal government while Trump and his gang are in power. Go ahead and try to withhold funds from specific states that anger Trump and his merry band of child molesters.

I fully intend to withhold MY tax dollars until the day he is out of office. I did it the last time he was in office, and I am happily going to do it again starting in 2025. And no, there is nothing illegal about it. There is even a way you can do it an not wind up without incurring any penalties, using the same loopholes that Trump himself has used. I wouldn’t have been able deny the feds their money if Trump had won his second term in 2020, because I would have had to make a payment in the fifth year, and that would have defeated my purpose. But this is another contiguous four-year period that I can take advantage of by denying Trump my tax dollars while he is still in office.

But that’s just me, being the rebel.

Enough of the ‘news’.

Same Shit, Different Day, Every Day

And…

Me, and the Homies…

Yes, he’s talking about YOU

Seriously, these DO work:

Joe’s telling it like it is…

I don’t think anyone is asking you to approve of their lifestyle…

Seriously, who cares what another person’s ‘lifestyle’ is? Nobody is asking you to live their lives, any more than you are asking them to live yours. If someone wants to go through life pretending they are a 1959 Ford Edsel, then why the fuck should it bother me — or you?

You were given your own life to live — live it. You are nobody else’s keeper. Tend to your own yard and quit worrying about someone else’s yard.

Okay, that’s it for me.

  1. I remember when Jimmy Carter decided to enforce the 55 mph National speed limit. The states that didn’t comply right away started losing D.O.T. highway funds until each state gave in. So, the precedent has been set (by a Democrat President).

    1. The 55 MPH law, along with the seatbelt law was tied to certain portions of the D.O.T. highway funds if the several states refused to codify the law in those states and enforced them. The highway funds are tied to the federal fuel tax, not the federal income tax. In other words, CONGRESS had written that provision into the law, which made the withholding of certain highway funds legal.

What Donald Trump has been proposing — and being parroted by his ass-lickers — would be illegal on its face. Congress would first have to pass a law that would allow the federal government to collect money from the several states in the form of taxes, and then allow the withholding of federal funds coming back to those states as a form of punishment for not complying with what will be essentially an Executive Order which may or may not violate state constitutional law.

It’s one thing to regulate and deny funds for highways. As I recall, Montana, which had no speed limit prior to the 1974 law mandating 55 MPH, weighed the possibility of withholding the federal gas tax from the feds if they weren’t going to get highway funds back. But they nixed that idea and went ahead with the codifying the law and half-heartedly enforcing it.

Personally, I think all of this is nothing more than mental masturbation. While it sounds exciting for some of you to see illegal immigrants all rounded up and sent out of the country, the likelihood of it actually happening is about slim to none.

For one thing, major industries in this country will quickly rise up to put pressure on the government to EXEMPT those industries. Ag businesses and the construction industry in particular would be quick to apply political pressure to either exempt them or do away with the program altogether. That steak, potato, and salad doesn’t arrive at your dinner table without illegal immigration. That new house you want to buy? It won’t be built without illegal immigration.

Hell, we can’t find people to work in the hotel industry unless they came from South of the border or Asia. Actual Americans won’t do that work any more. Who is going to go out into the fields and gather up all your produce?

This was the reason Ronald Reagan ended up doing what he did. He was what happened when Eisenhower tried his mass deportation in the mid-1950s. That did NOT go well.

But who knows? Maybe things will somehow be different now. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.
