Some 60 years ago, in a land far away, the best chocolate bar available to children with a wicked sweet tooth was Chocolate Aguila. And boy was it good. American products had not yet permeated the market, heck, there were no supermarkets until a British family decided to set one up in our neighborhood in 1960 or so Imagine, the wonder being able to walk into a one stop shop for everything food, house cleaning and beverages, including wine and booze. Wow!
Before that time
What triggered this memory is the absolutely hilarious marketing failure (I am sure well paid for by us taxpayers) of the attempted pejorative of King Ultra MAGA!
Heck, Nec Plus Ultra on the banner under the eagle, symbol of the chocolate factory, reads None More Better, or more correctly, none better. Boy, what a slight against Trump and Trumpians that is. It was cause for mirth when I heard the line quoted by the “resident in chief”, current erstwhile occupant of the Oval Orifice. Sadly, the policies of the cabal in DC is making chocolate in any form far more expensive for all of us. A sad bit of news this is.
Since I do not see the regime changing direction, cutting spending, cutting taxes or raising interest rates to the levels required to reduce inflation (Paul Volker, pick up the red emergency phone), things simply are not going to improve and are likely to get more dire as the months roll by.
Keep a stiff upper lip and carry on, we will survive and turn this around, there is no other alternative.
