Oh My Grandkids… and yours.
Can I cast a simple question out there to the void?
(to clarify, I am asking for a question beyond this obvious question)
I will ask regardless. I’m kinda pesky that way. If you like, I can be polite as I ask,
Pardon me, but what are we doing?
Before you answer, do me a favor and study the question for a moment. If you can, step aside from your assumptions during this period and try not to assume there is any agenda other than a sudden curiosity.
HINT:
• You get to decide whether this is a social, political, personal question and respond accordingly
• You get to define the “we” in this question.
• There are no right or wrong answers.
(This is a “check in” to see if anyone is out there…)

Hoo boy! You really know how to go fishing for data with a net that broad.
As to the “We” I will choose the same definition as our founding fathers – We the People who legally by birth or by total acceptance of the principles cited, legally emigrated here (that be me) and accepted that I would henceforth be American and not of where I was born. Customs, memories and friends from “over there” are kept in mind, but not imposed on any other American.
Is anything we state or discuss among friends “Political”? Well, it can be that, or just chewing the fat on the state of our lives in a country that provides endless bounty for all that make the effort (that means Work) and as a result enjoy our time above ground, unmolested by peoples who for some unknown reason would prefer everyone else to be pushing up daisies.
Lastly, the blessings of life, a decent wife, 3 children, 5 grands (total count so far seeing as youngest is too busy to settle down). And just to bracket things, the oldest Grand is wrapping up 2nd year at Arizona State U. We of course are rooting for him to make it through with a useful degree (something worrying as we observe the rate of development of AI and robotics). But then they are all young enough to go into the trades if necessary.
As I am about to ring the bell for the 74th lap around the sun (thankfully I do not have to push the ball of dirt), it is good to just wake up each morning (even if sleep deprived) to greet the occasional ray of sun seeing as we do live in Michigan after all. I suspect the only difference between your zone and ours is the snow depth, with equally dim sunlight from clouds.
Lastly, a hearty wish for the continuing success of DJ Podventrures Inc. as this too keeps both of us entertained. Of course wondering if the old gang at the Rott will ever wake up is another story, though I remain in touch with 5 of them.
Onward Christian Soldiers, to where we do not yet know! Hope DJ does not have his phone on with sound, seeing as it is 4.27 AM West coast as I hit the send button……
