America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet.
“First thing that always pops into my head regarding our president is that all of the people who are setting up this barrier for him . . . they just conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white — very white American, Kansas, middle of America,” Freeman said. “There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president — he’s America’s first mixed-race president.”
Oh dear. So much blogfodder in that short quote that we don’t quite know where to begin. Other than to note that Morgan Freeman is a Racist True Believer Fanatic Idiot, but we already knew that.
Let’s get the religious undertones overtones out of the way first: “Arisen?” Really? We mean, it’s not that we’re surprised, really. We’ve been noting ever since the Obamessiah (case in point right there) started slithering out from under his rock and was carried on the shoulders of others to ever higher office that the fanatical fervor of his acolytes went far beyond mere politics. We’re just a bit surprised than any of them would actually come out and admit it, even accidentally, considering how vehemently they’ve been denying it all along.
“Oh knock it off, it was just a slip of the tongue”, some might say.
Quite. But therein lies the rub, does it not? A “slip”, as in “accidentally expressing your true feelings about something and/or somebody.”
Besides, Morgan, you really need to get up to speed. The “First Black President” was Bill Clinton, or were you too high at the time to notice that particular meme?
Then there are the racist connotations in his statement, the focus on just how “pure” the Obamessiah’s ancestry is and the subsequent dismissal of his “blackness” because he fails to meet the quota. But remember, Rotties, we’re the racist ones for refusing to dwell obsessively on skin color and racial purity, focusing instead of content of character. Just like that other infamous racist, Dr. King.
And then, finally, there are the political implications. Because, you see, we can’t remember anybody on the leftist fascist side questioning the Obamessiah’s blackness before. As you will recall, Obam-bam and his campaign have indeed been harping on his blackness ever since he started running for anything and still are, blaming every setback, every drop in the polls on the fact that Americans are racist bitter clingers who simply hate the fact that he’s black in spite of his transparently awesome awesomeness.
Yet now we have at least one of his True Believers coming out questioning that very blackness. Which, psychologically as well as politically, is not at all insignificant. It is, in fact, very significant.
People like to identify with the people they support, admire, befriend, what have you. It is, in fact, ofttimes that shared identity that makes them support, admire, befriend etc. an individual. Then, should the individual turn out to be an utter failure, something completely different from what his supporters/friends/admirers hoped and/or assumed he’d be, particularly if he turns out to be something that is extremely unpopular outside their little circle, so unpopular that his defeat seems very likely, the very first reaction of his former supporters will be to deny whatever shared factor it was that made them like and support him to begin with, no matter how deeply vested they were in proclaiming that shared identity to begin with.
Because they see it coming, and they don’t want to end up in the splatter zone, and so they start distancing themselves from him, first and foremost by denying that shared identity which they previously embraced. “Oh no, we’re not at all like him, he’s something completely different from us, please don’t look at us!”
That’s why it’s significant. And it’s even more significant when you see that “de-identifying” process start among the core of an individual’s supporters.
Hitler, while Nazi Germany was on the rise, was the most German, Aryan human being to have ever lived according to his supporters. Then things went to shit for him and his followers (not to mention the country he was running), and all of a sudden he wasn’t really German, he was Austrian and his Aryan-ness? Really. Look at that hair color, that chin… Come on, seriously. And socialists all over the world got busy spinning that the dictatorial head, indeed founder of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party wasn’t, in fact, a socialist at all. They had a head start there, of course, since they started the spin in 1941 where he attacked another socialist nation and forced socialists to pick the socialist they liked the most, but that’s a different story.
The Soviet Union, according to every socialist who ever wasted oxygen, was a glorious socialist people’s republic right up until the time it crashed under its own weight, at which point socialists everywhere got busy denying that it had ever been remotely associated with socialism at all. And the same goes for every single other failed socialist nation in the world. They’re socialist right up until they crash, at which point the socialists start denying that it was ever socialist to begin with.
So when the likes of Morgan Freeman start denying the Black Messiah’s blackness, then you can bet that it’s significant.
Thatisall.
