I was absolutely shocked a few minutes ago to learn of the passing of an icon of the conservative movement, Andrew Breitbart at the age of 43. His passing was announced on the Breitbart TV website, with this thoughtful statement:
With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of Andrew Breitbart.
Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.
We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.
Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.
Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:
I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.
Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.
Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.
Andrew as we all know was an absolutely fearless Warrior in the good fight against the lies of the left. He was a pioneer of using the intertubes as a means of getting the truth to the people directly, bypassing the monolithic leftist MSM. For that he gained thousands of enemies filled with hate. They knew that their lies could not stand in the light of the truth that he brought to the people directly and unvarnished. It’s a hard thing to accept things like this, especially people that love this Republic like Andrew did, at such an early age. But we can only accept that the L-rd has a plan beyond our ken.
He shall be missed and our prayers go out to his wife and four children.

UPDATE: Predictably as Swiss clockwork, the leftists are showing their arses, dancing upon Breitbart’s grave all over the Twitterverse. Showing just how intolerant, hateful and disgusting the “tolerant” left in this country is was one of Andrew’s many hobbies, and I can’t help but find it darkly amusing that even in death he’s continuing to whip their arses, exposing them for the slimy, creepy, hate-filled trolls that they truly are.
