Ralph Peters, whom we’d be honored to share a foxhole with any day of the week and twice on Sundays, has a most excellent article about why the SCoaMF junta were so completely blindsided by the American people in general and the armed forces in particular not erupting in celebrations that the Stuttering Clusterfuck of a Miserable Failure, Obama the Nithling himself, had bought himself a pet mooselimb deserter and traitor.
We’d have liked a few more references to hanging, but it’s still a good article that you ought to read.
The president, too, appears stunned. He has so little understanding of (or interest in) the values and traditions of our troops that he and his advisers really believed that those in uniform would erupt into public joy at the news of Bergdahl’s release — as D.C. frat kids did when Osama bin Laden’s death was trumpeted.
Both President Obama and Ms. Rice seem to think that the crime of desertion in wartime is kind of like skipping class. They have no idea of how great a sin desertion in the face of the enemy is to those in our military. The only worse sin is to side actively with the enemy and kill your brothers in arms.
*Cough*. Reports from the troops he betrayed suggest that there might be a bit of that as well. They all, to a man, testify that the Taliban seemed to change their tactics and become much better at killing Americans right after the filthy, backstabbing, brother-betraying cunt decided to wander off into the night to join them. All of a sudden, after almost a decade and a half of taking it up the Khyber Pass from our troops, they started becoming better at predicting the moves of our troops. Coincidence, we’re sure, as the criminal junta ruling us will soon tell us.
Just saying.
Not that it matters all that much, because Peters is right on. There is no worse sin than to turn your back on your brothers in order to save your own sorry hide, as anybody who has ever actually worn a uniform will know. Which is exactly why democrats don’t know it, being the puling, self-absorbed cowards that they are. If you’re scared shitless and hide in your foxhole in the middle of a fight, it’s frowned upon, but it’s forgivable. As long as it doesn’t become a habit of yours. We all have our moments when it all just becomes too much and we forget ourselves. It’s not OK, but you can be forgiven. There but for the grace of G-d…
But coolly, calmly, premeditatedly planning your desertion and, in Bergdahl’s case, defection, and then just wandering off… That can never be forgiven. That is a stain that will never wash out. Even if the shitstain bastard had fought his way out of captivity because he’d changed his mind and laid waste to a full maniple of terrorist fucks in order to get back, the stain would remain for the rest of his life, and not a single damn soldier would celebrate his return.
He broke the ONE rule you can never break: He turned his back on his brothers and decided that he was more important than they. He violated his oath. Not “just” the one that we all recite in some version no matter where we serve, the one written down, but the one that isn’t written down which is “no matter what, I’ve got your back as you have mine.”
And we think he’d probably have been better off staying with his new terrorist friends than coming back, because he’s a marked piece of shit, no matter how much he’s SCoaMF’s pet deserter.
Thatisall.
