And Now For Something Completely Different

LC Country Red found this surfing and I happened to stumble onto it when taking over at the PC. This is interesting on a number of levels as well as very cute. Red and I being hard-core ‘cat people’ have had quite a few of the felines as part of our household over the years. Yes, we love doggies too, but our current domiciliary situation precludes canine companions. Anyway, I’ve been a student of feline psychology for a long time and the kitty in this video violates a lot of standard principles, these being:

1. Don’t go near any open body of water. You just don’t know what might happen.

2. As an ancillary to #1 – Don’t go near large wet things. You might share it’s fate too.

3. Don’t exhibit any potentially humiliating affection for humans or other species. Especially other species that are wet AND in an open body of water.

In consideration of that, I’ll leave any psychological conclusions up to the gentle reader.

The back story is here: Cat’s amazingly cute encounter with dolphins

Oh by the way, this is a great opportunity to show-off our Diva: Shiloh.

In case you’re wondering she’s a Red Point Siamese. They’re fairly common, but most folks haven’t heard the name.

Shiloh

Enjoy folks !!!

Ok. Which one of you people put a shit stain all over that poor cats face?

DOG Says the cat looks good….but needs to add a couple of pounds before the BBQ.

That tabby looks just like our favorite cat, who went missing several years ago. I am sure it is not him, but I still miss that cat after all these years!

As to kissing up to dolphins … hey, they have fish breath! Our cats would probably want to shmooze them too!

Your Cat is obviously a warm loving pet. Unfortunately my Dogs would look at Her and think “Lunch”!

Hell, they look at small dogs and think lunch! Then they want to crawl up onto the Bed and be petted!

Damn near as screwed up as Humans them Dogs is! :em01:

Well….we have two Great Danes and a Dalmatian…plus SEVEN cats inside. The funny thing is only one of the Danes and one of the cats have issues with each other.

We are currently ‘hosting’ three more outside cats. Sometimes I think the animals eat better than we do! :em93:

Draco, from what I’ve seen, cats and dogs housed together usually work out their relationships, generally better than we smart monkeys do. Often, it’s the cat who ends up dominant, having no instinct to submit to the “alpha” member of the pack.. Absent a canine presence in the house, cats generally try to dominate their human owners, and are successful… Read more »

The cat wasn’t being nice to the dolphin. He was stratigizing about how he could get that giant fish on board so he could “show up” Garfield and Morris permanently.

If my dog saw Shiloh, she would sniff her up one side and down the other, and then try to be her mommy. Oh, and I bet she likes to talk a lot!

Draco: True…just ask my wife at about 3 AM, when she has 4 cats laying on her!!! Yep, been there, done that. Many nights, I’ve also been pinned to the bed by cats. Not so much in the hot climate where I now reside, but when I lived in places that got cold, the cats would seek out the warmest… Read more »

Ditto. In the mostly asleep state of consciousness I realize I’m being twisted like a pretzel, pushed off my pillow, and crushed, but I’m not awake enough to do anything about it. Bastards.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s Theater of the Sea in Islamorada in the Keys. They have quite a population of “feral” cats that live there. Still, that’s some pretty weird behavior from a cat, especially when she was nuzzling the dolphin and marking him as her property.
