All I have to say about this is “Oh, boy”, since I am a little nervous for my friend’s sake, and for the soldier I told you guys about who has his wife and child over there, because they are both Coptic Christians. I just hope and pray that, just as Troy said, that DJ is right and that Beck… Read more »
Oh Pleeeezzzzz DJ, whatever you’re smokin I want some. Exact transcript from Mark Steyn’s opening first hour monologue on 2/7/11: The administration has now clarified its position on Egypt: (1) “President Mubarak is not a dictator and he should stay in office…” according to Vice President Biden (2) “… but he needs to step down immediately…” according to Secretary Clinton… Read more »

LC LittleRott84 Imperial DJ says: …. I just hope and pray that, just as Troy said, that DJ is right and that Beck and Company are wrong. But what do you think the odds might be on that? BTW, for those of you with short, or nonexistent memories … If you think Egyptian military governance is so neat, remember whence… Read more »
Our very own HarangueOutan And a meteorite could hit the earth in ten days and wipe us all out. Technically an object does not become a meteorite until it hits the earth. It’s a meteor when streaking through our atmosphere, & before that it’s just a meteoroid. Most of them are comparable to a grain of sand. Maybe you’re thinking… Read more »

Grammar Czar says: I don’t see that Obama has handled this badly at all — in fact, I think he has handled it the only way it could be handled. Obama didn’t do shit. This was a revolution of, for, and by the Egyptian people. Obama could have played with his coin purse for 18 days and the result would… Read more »

Just for the record, that was not my quote. It was DJ’s. 😎
Wow! I am shocked! Flattered actually. I graduated from high school in 1985 and I fucking LOVE the Clash. G-d rest Joe Strummer. They were, for a while, “the only band that matters”. I haven’t been out here for a couple of days. Looks like Hosni went rather than stayed. I’m wondering what is going to happen now. Let’s hope… Read more »

David, if I may: As far as the Muslim Brotherhood? They say they are NOT seeking a power position in Egypt. IIRC, in 1979, Khomeini was saying the same thing from Paris as the unpleasantness was unraveling in Tehran. Nine months later he was the unquestioned leader of a country that had been our ally for several decades, and a… Read more »

Some light reading.
Mubarak was a general who took power. Provided his stepping down quiets the street, we are going to see the same thing.
Now the goal will be to use the carrot to get him to smash the MB then Egypt will have a real chance at change.
