All too often liberals will tell us that law enforcement officers support them in their opposition to concealed carry which, of course, is a complete lie (easily confirmed by identifying the “liberals say…” opening).

This Sheriff certainly doesn’t seem to be of the opinion that citizens should remain unable to defend themselves:

Sheriff Chuck Wright opened his news conference by saying, “Our form of justice is not making it.”

He said, “Carry a concealed weapon. That’ll fix it.” …

Wright said, “It’s too bad someone with a concealed weapons permit didn’t walk by. That would fix it.” He said people are tired of doing the right thing and criminals getting away with their actions.

He said several times, “I want you to get a concealed weapons permit.”

At one point, Wright held up a fanny pack and said, “They make this right here where you can conceal a small pistol in them. They got one called The Judge that shoots a .45 or a .410 shell. You ain’t got to be accurate; you just have to get close.”

Wright said, “I’m tired of looking at victims saying, ‘There’s life after this’ … I’m tired of saying, ‘We’re sorry, we can’t keep them in jail.’”

Good for you, Sheriff. Coincidentally, if you’re an LC currently working to escape one of the liberal Unemployment Zones up north, you could do a lot worse than to start looking for a new home in Sheriff Wright’s jurisdiction, if you ask us.

Of course, now we enter the next phase where we’re all treated to a full-blast, synchronized liberal media chorus of “Sheriff blames victims, urges citizens to become vigilante judges, juries and executioners, guarantees rivers flowing with blood, women and children, minorities hardest hit.”

Which, given that it means that liberals are, once again, reduced to hysterics as a result of a kick to the balls of their un-American agenda, is pure music to His Imperial Majesty’s ears.

Once again, Sheriff Wright: Thank you, you’re a true American.

Thatisall.

This is my sheriff, right here where I live now. The locals are loving what he is saying. (Though a woman was almost raped this weekend at a popular park which is what prompted this statement. Thankfully, he has been caught.(multiple offender, btw.)

It’s not so much the chiefs screaming about vigilante justice and such as it is knowing if the citizens take up arms and deal with the trash it will be shown, in many juridictions, exactly how ineffective the LEOs are. It will also have an effect on employment within the “system” – less cases means less judges, jailers, prison guards,… Read more »

Lady H, didn’t know you were in the upstate. I’m in the Lowcountry. He only screwed up in saying concealed carry. The 2nd is my concealed carry permit (though I do have one issued by the state). Frank, you’re correct. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away….I carry a 45 cuz they don’t make a 46…etc.

Good for the Sheriff!! At least he has got some balls! I remember a story about two former SF guys with CHLs working a job, in South Carolina, if I remember correctly. They were staying at a local motel making plans for the next day’s activities. One guy starts to head back to his and the guy in the initial… Read more »

@ 9:37 Wright says:

“Guns have not killed a single person without someone stupid being on the trigger anyway…”

Somebody, please help me parse this!
Does he mean the victim?
And, what was with that misspelled vidiot banner that popped up @ 4:11, that said: “We Need More Sheriff like hem”?
Was that a LLL snark?

I heard this on the radio this morning on my way home from work. It’s almost enough to make me move south one state.

I always tell people I’m too old to fight, too fat to run and too stubborn to die, so that only leaves me one option.

I think he’s probably speaking to the anti-gunners who claim that blood will run in the streets whenever gun control legislation is discussed.

Anyone with even a smidgen of sense knows that sensible gun control involves factors like stance, breathing, trigger squeeze, aim, and target acquisition. The average response time for a 911 call? About 23 minutes. The response time for the .45 ACP I carry? @850 FPS. I regularly take my Mrs. to the range with me so she can keep herself… Read more »

Although Ive been raised up here in Yankee land ( In. ) good sheriff Wright makes me proud of my home state of South Carolina. We could certainly use a lot more like him. I just invested in my second 45 ( Glock ) and will be going out to the range in the morning to give it its first… Read more »

I already have a Ruger hand gun but it is a bit to large for ankle carry .A Super RedHawk 44 mag. Gun control with this one means holding on tight with both hands :em01:

LC Proud Infidel @ # 11: LC BOATS @ # 12: Ruger does make a fine firearm. You can BOTH save money with KelTec, and the PF9. The only time I ever carry my P3AT is when I don’t have room to carry a gun. I trust it to work if I need it, and a 380 is a whole… Read more »

I was asked once…..”Why do you carry that old Bulldog? It only holds 5 rounds.” Because I like it and if I need more than 5 rounds, I need more than a handgun anyway. Then…..”Why are all your guns old?” Because I like them and they are reliable. Finally…..”But your ankle gun is that Nazi gun.” It’s a mid 50s… Read more »

Imperial Swampmaster: Yep. Or as I heard in my CHL class, “Your average gunfight follows the Rule of Two-and-a-Half; Two-and-a-Half seconds, Two-and-a-Half yards, Two-and-a-Half rounds.

I figure with my Chief’s Special I’m good for two gunfights before reloading.

Yo all. Need a hand here, and preferably from someone familiar with Maryland gun law (which blows).
