Hope everyone is enjoying the start of Summer, a time to forget about what irritates and enjoy what God, nature (some overlap) and your hard labors provide.
In order to put aside the supreme idiocy we are living in this era of instantaneous communication by every means available, used by mass media to launch distortions, lies, slander, character assassination which then delivers political malfeasance
, mayhem , corruption and utter disregard for the rule of law ( well into the arena of treason IMHO); take some time to step away from all forms of said instantaneous hideousness and take a walk away from purported civilization. We sadly are currently not “governed” by the consent of the people but by a ship of fools.
If you cannot go far
, at least go to a park, or walk by a lake or river and listen to nature, if with a close friend, spouse or a dog, all to the good.It will cleanse the soul.
A good Santana, Mozart, Herp Alpert or Mike Oldfield piece can add to the experience. None of the acid/hard/metal erstwhile screaming to be had, and I shudder to mention much of anything that has appeared in this new century or the 10 years preceding.
Doing the above and accepting for the next 90 days or so, that the fates will likely not drop any real explosive events on us, provides a good start to recharging the spirit and resting the brain. I am sure that what we are seeing of the decline of the nation will neither halt or be unduly hastened by this hiatus.
