Because if we don’t put it here, it’ll end up dominating other threads.
Our only take on it is this: Sure, he stayed well away from joining in the blood libel but what exactly did you expect?
This has been his number one play since he started running for office: “Always stay above the thuggish methods that your minions wallow in and leave the dirty work to them.”
Plausible deniability, it used to be called. Until Ogabe gave it a bad name.
Thatisall.
One quick observation is that Giffords’ husband, Navy Captain and astronaut Mark Kelly, was in front during Obama’s speech. Obama, during his speech, said that Gabrielle had first opened her eyes a short while earlier. Well then, what on Earth was her husband doing at the pep-rally instead of being at his wife’s bedside, other than his duty as a… Read more »
Misha, he didn’t need to refer to anything — Directly. All the slick bastard needed was “the visual”: Concerned Democrat[TM] President Gives Statesmanlike Speech Demonstrating Greatheartedness, Unlike Those Nasty, Violent Conservatives.” Who are NOT allowed in The Visual. AND he gets to take over ALL the networks and independent stations, just like Big Brother in 1984. See? that’s how it’s… Read more »
He may have wanted to escalate, or to use the opportunity to become the nation’s father, but the bumbler in chief tried to give his best Pericles impersonation at a drunken frat party where they were giving out free T-shirts. His handlers set him up in front of an audience that would be in his pocket, his loyal base, but… Read more »
I didn’t see the speech so I have to ask:
Did he have assistance from “Mr. Teleprompter” or did he “wing it”?
Apparently, while the country has been going to hell for almost a week, he was busy memorizing whatever lines his speechwriters could come up with, which is why the speech was more than a bit disjointed, held together by segues. That or they were playing the words on the jumbotron behind everyone’s backs.
THIS says a little sumpm sumpm ’bout him.
I suspect this tidbit was deliberate. Obama is supposed to be a brilliant lawyer, and this would have been done by accident? It may have been inadvertent, but a passage in President Barack Obama’s speech to a memorial service in Tucson Wednesday night could undercut a criminal charge federal prosecutors have leveled at suspect Jared Loughner for the death of… Read more »
#7 Grammar Czar I do not doubt that the “slip” that weakened the Federal case against Loughner was deliberate. After all, Giffords was not a full-bore swiller of the Kool-Aid, and actually called for defending the border from illegals [I think that wildlife refuge that the Feds posted warnings to Americans to stay out of because the Cartels and Mexican… Read more »
Death threats to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin have increased to unprecedented levels in the wake of Saturday’s shooting in Tucson, an aide tells ABC News.

Did anyone else find the Native American (Mexican by his words) and his convocation both bizarre and disturbing? No surprise that he’s a prof at ASU, and this was a perfect setting for the left, home-turf so to speak. I won’t argue have that culture represented, but wouldn’t be a bit more appropriate for a main-stream theologian to also give… Read more »
Watch two videos, one is Bill Maher joking about a botched attempt to take VICE PRESIDENT Dick Cheney’s life. The watch a video of Bill Maher saying Republicans want to kill people or use such language, not Liberals.

What’s to be made of the likes of:
Glenn Beck, Charles Krauthammer, Pat Buchanan, Jim Geraghty, Chris Christie, John Podhoretz, et al., praising the speech?
Thoughts?
Mandrake says: What’s to be made of the likes of: Glenn Beck, Charles Krauthammer, Pat Buchanan, Jim Geraghty, Chris Christie, John Podhoretz, et al., praising the speech? Thoughts? I think that their praise is mainly due to pleasant surprise that he somehow managed not to lash out at evil conservative obstructionists and their awful hating hate. And, I will add,… Read more »
Cool.
Every time I switched back to see if he was done running his mouth all I got was a bunch of cheering and clapping like it was a pep rally, I thought that I had changed it to a wrong channel. Was this not supposed to be a memorial to the people that were killed and injured by a nut… Read more »
#16 Emperor Misha I & #17 Mandrake RE: “it did not” Those three words were not in the advance copy of the speech released to the media. It was either a late addition or an ad lib. Apparently, the t-shirts and bumper stickers (or whatever) were the brain farts of the university students. The only reason I can see for having the memorial at the University was to have a venue large enough for the crowd. It figures that the students didn’t know how to act at the memorial.
