Note To Congress: You Might Want To Re-Think That Crap & Tax Bullshit

Since ClimateGate broke a few days ago, some of the rats are abandoning ship almost as quickly as Charlie Rangel dodges IRS audits.

The Liberal Party is in turmoil with the resignations of five frontbenchers from their portfolios this afternoon in protest against the emissions trading scheme.

Tony Abbott, Sophie Mirabella, Tony Smith and Senators Nick Minchin and Eric Abetz have all quit their portfolios because they cannot vote for the legislation.

Senate whip Stephen Parry has also relinquished his position.

The mass resignations will put huge pressure on Malcolm Turnbull’s leadership after only just surviving a push for a spill yesterday.

Don’t you just love it? Even the insane Green Leftists Down Under are beginning to see the writing on the wall, when it comes to Crap & Tax Teh Great Goreacle’s Socialist Takeover & Western Civilization Mutual Suicide Scheme™, and are starting to revolt.

We’d like to say that there’s a glimmer of hope for OUR leeches, vultures and Socialist Succubi in the Biggest Little Whorehouse on the Potomac, but there hasn’t been a sign of intelligence to come out of that festering dung heap since Helen Thomas was turning tricks out of the back of a covered wagon at the battle of Gettysburg. One can only hope that Nancy, Harry, Fuckface Al Qerry & Odumbo all share a salmonella-laced turkey today and they leave Plugs Biden in charge. That would guarantee that any and all Glow Bull Worming legislation that Congress tried to pass would end up abysmally failing on the floors of both the House and Senate.

A Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Even as sucky as things are in the world these days, we can all still find things to be thankful for.

I’m thankful for having found The Rott, and the privilege to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. I’m even more grateful for the chance to have met many of you face to face.

I expect to meet the rest of you next year at the Texas RottFest™ 2010! :em04:

Actuallly, the Liberals in Australia are the considered to be a conservative party. It’s the Liberals and the Greens who are hard left. As I understand from my reading, the Ex-Liberal leader, M. Trumbulll made an agreement with the Liberal PM, Rudd, to pass their version of cap & trade (ETS – I have no idea what the initials stand for). THe revolt is within the Liberal party itself, resulting in Trumbull’s being dumped from his leaderhip position. This may or may not be enough to put their ETS on hold, but it’s looking up for the Aussies. Now we need to work on our own Senate.

Almost right 🙂 Main parties in Australia:

Labour (currently in control under PM Rudd) – Pretty hard leftists, predominately unionist, anti-Bush, pro-China etc
Liberal (previously in control under PM Howard) – Center/right concervative, large/small business support, pro-Bush
Nationals (in coalition with Liberals) – Country/rural supporters
Greens (usually throw votes to Labour) – Rabid watermelons
Democrats (no longer really in existance) – Social libs, had swing vote during Howard years causing massive complexity to be added to GST for feel good definitions of food etc

Huh? Re-read what you just wrote, please. The Greens are definitely hard-left, but the Coalition of the Liberal Party-Australian National Party is on the center-right. Former PM John Howard was a Liberal Party member who governed Oz for 10 years (quite successfully, I might add; I lived there for the last several years of his administration and got to see him in action).

Under Australia’s parliamentary system, the Coalition members are in opposition and thus not part of the current administration; they hold “shadow” portfolios that provide an alternative viewpoint to the that of the ruling party. Current PM Kevin Rudd is a member of the Australian Labor Party (yes, they spell Labor like we do, not like the Brits), whose members range from center-left to hard-left. Labor was able to out-Green the Greens in some cases in the last general election in November 2007, and thus won some seats that the Greens expected to win.

What’s going on here is some senior Liberals are rebelling against the leadership of Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull, who backs PM Rudd’s Emissions Trading Scheme (Down-Under’s version of Crap-and-Tax). Whoring for the extreme left and going along to get along apparently is coming with a price, and I’d be surprised if Turnbull hangs on to the Liberal Party’s reins.

…since Helen Thomas was turning tricks out of the back of a covered wagon at the battle of Gettysburg.

Gettysburg, hell! I’ve heard she was servicing the Redcoats at Cowpens, and her wagon was where they got the name for the battle.

And Happy Thanksgiving to all LCs out there.

Finally the few conservative members of our “conservative” party (the Liberal-National Coalition) are showing some testicular fortitude at least at the federal level.

Now they’ve just gotta get their shit together and nominate an electable candidate or at the least get their party affairs back in order , so that some people might actually bother to vote for them*.

    * = Voting is compulsory here so one doesn’t have the option to abstain completely from the electoral process but can vote for a independent candidate or another candidate that’s extremely unlikely to ever win anything if required.

    Dragineez says:

Listening to the MSM trying to defend the AGW theory and denounce the hacker is really starting to make my blood boil. I think Inhofe could have done a much better job in his CNBC interview if he had simply stated; “Simon, why are you limiting yourself to the emails? There were a lot of other documents released than just emails. Go through the source code and programmer comments and then try to tell me the source data was valid and that no manipulation was going on to arrive at a predetermined conclusion. You’re saying ‘They only tried to keep dissenting scientists from appearing on the same panels as themselves.’ Not true. They specifically conspired to not publish in any journal that published works by dissenting scientists and would not cite any work from these journals (even if it agreed with and supported their argument) until these journals refused to accept work from dissenting scientists. That’s scientific fraud. Pure and simple. The leaked communications themselves are damning enough (wishing for a tragic mass casualty event to bring AGW concerns to the forefront, lamenting the now decade plus long decline in global temperatures – which these AGW proponents are now known to be completely aware of – since that undercuts their formally stated predictions, exhorting other AGW proponents to delete emails and other data/documents to thwart FOIA requests, and on and on). Combined with the other documents this leak puts a stake through the heart of the entire AGW theory. With the HadCRUT data now thoroughly discredited, any work that depends upon it is likewise discredited.”

Bear in mind, these documents have now been verified to be completely genuine. Even the NYT (ya’ll are aware of course that a NYT “journalist” was an addressee on many of these emails, right?) and HadCRU had to admit that since any further investigation would very quickly reveal that anyway.

How any supposed “journalist” could continue to support the party line in the face of these revelations is completely beyond me. That the NYT, of all publications I would think the least likely, to claim that these documents were illegally obtained and therefore cannot be used to investigate. This despite the fact that they have a long and easily demonstrated history of not being quite so high and noble minded on that score when they can use it to attack their political foes on the right.

BTW: Ed Begley is a complete twit.

Early reports obtained by ___(LSM channel) indicate that the shooter was mentally unstable, raising the question of how he obtained these weapons of destruction in the first place.”

LC Jon, I picked my side over 40 years ago when I first remember HM1 Dad in his Whites coming home from Viet Nam, and re-affirmed that choice in the spring of 1982 with my own oath of enlistment, so you can sit back and pick your sophisticated nose.

And my cynicism comes from a decade as a Paramedic in the shitty undersides and the ritzy topsides of Memphis and St. Louis where I learned that most folks don’t give a flying fuck about what happens to someone else as long as they have theirs. And in the past couple of years I’ve been driving a public school bus, out of the close to 400 kids I’ve dealt with, exactly ONE is from a family that has a clue about what’s up with the country today and is pissed about it.

1 out of 400… pretty sorry odds.

I have thought, planned and prepared, and continue to do so to protect me and mine and am ready to step up to defend this Republic, just like I am sure you and all the folks you alluded to in your comment are…

…but until it gets off it’s ass and becomes an organized movement, ain’t a fucking thing gonna happen, and you and the rest of the people here fucking well know it. Odds are that it will boil down to each of us having our own “Alamo” on our front porch, the rest going, “That’s a bitch”, and changing the channel until it’s their turn in the breech.

We have the best thing going, slightly off the rails as it may be at the moment, but I fervently “hope” that we can “change” the course of things and get back on track without having to resort to any other box other than the ballot box and mebbe the jury box. I don’t have kids except for the ones on the bus, but I want them, and yours, to have the same America I grew up in and the one I love more than anything.

Working for a rather conservative, Country-Fried school district in the Cape Girardeau area, so the indoctrination is pretty minimized, but it still pops up in the conversations on the bus, and I immediately put a stop to it and issue corrections as necessary, with sources to back it up. And thankfully some of the kids are curious enough and know that I have never and will never lie to them to check it out for themselves.

I have been rewarded with a few, “WOW, Mr. John, you were right. Why would Miss “X” tell us that if it wasn’t right??” The truth about it would go over most of their little heads, so I just tell ’em, “I don’t know…”

Like I said, I don’t have kids of my own, but that don’t mean I’m not protecting and defending the ones I can.

Twenty percent fought actively for the other sideand twenty percent sat on their hands and awaited the outcome.

I think those are pretty good odds, even today. And since a very great many more indolent ignoratti will sit it out… even better.

The feds are omnipotent against single individuals and small marginalizable groups but, absent the US Military (most of whom I remain confidant will not subdue their fellow patriots) they are toast. There are not enough goons in all fed agencies combined to put down an organized rebellion.
