I Am Humbled

Humbled indeed. Humbled by the many blessings that God has given me, undeserving as I am. Humbled by my son’s service, by my daughters’ love, by the woman who agreed to be my wife. By many things.

But I am also humbled by the friends that I have made here at the Rott, and even more humbled that I was asked to be an admin here. And now I have been even more humbled, this time by a reader.

Back in September I posted this. As Misha and I have discussed many times, sometimes the words just start flowing as soon as you begin typing. This was one of those times. It was as if I wasn’t even thinking of what to say, the words just appeared.

Apparently those words resonated with a reader, LC Norm from Arizona. He put them to music and created this. As I watched it, I couldn’t believe I had actually written that. Norm told me in an e-mail that he reads those words every day, and that he has shared them with his family and Navy buddies (Norm was a Yankee Station sailor in Vietnam, which makes his video even more humbling).

It is amazing to me that words that I wrote can have such an impact as the one that Norm said he experienced. So often you write something and wonder if anybody really read it. And then your question is answered.

So I am not only humbled, but I am honored, to have people like you all, and like Norm, as my friends.

Crunchie…fear not. You are among friends. And to paraphrase Liam in his latest movie “Taken”, some of us “have a particular skill set.” :em02:

And we are those that the government should fear. It’s one reason it would be insane to send ground troops to Ft Bragg. As I have posted before…you would be a freakin moron or an idiot to attack people whose life revolve around Robin Sage.

And do not think for a moment, Bragg has kept us all on the East Coast! :em02:

To witness the greatest of nations torn asunder, rent by self-hating cretins lacking even the courage to seek to dominate on a personal level. preferring to hide behind a government they now control. Crunchie, you have been the best of friends, you deserve this accolade and honor. I am sending this link on to friends, my buddy Gary willl be most touched. Your friend always, Caveman

It remains both humbling and inspiring…what the Rott has created…….yet so many of you have composed something touching my soul, striking a chord deep within my heart. And to have been told by others that on rare occasions something I wrote was sent on to yet others with freedom and liberty burning within their hearts. For all peoples, everywhere, those seeking only a chance……..to be all they can be, whatever their personal aspirations remain. What I see now only reinforces what I have believed for years now…I am truly in great company, and I am honored to be one of you. :em04:

Power flows from the barrel of Crunchie’s keyboard.
    Very appropriate music score.
    Thoughtfully done guys.

    Let it be viral.
    Let it be now.

Yeah, that ain’t all that flows from his keyboard…

You didn’t think I was gonna let this go by without givin’ you a little shot, did you crunch?

Appropriate music for the video. I also applaud crunchie for writing out what I and many other Americans are thinking.

You evidently never were in the vicinity of The Magnificent Ass™ when it erupts. A Saturn 5B packed with a billion compacted dead skunks is more like it.

That post had some power, tho.

I have had an ongoing argument with a friend that is a inactive Marine (I dont even like to use the word “former”) regarding Leadership. His position being that the Marine Corp produces “Leaders” at thier NCO school. I disagree, some things just ARE what they are and what they have always been… In the case of our Crunchmeister, I always just accepted what is, thats the pragmatist in me… ‘Wherever you are…. thats where your at”. Leaders are not created or made, they just are.

Thanks Crunchie for just being you. :em04:

Now … lets go fuck up some commie, socialist, muslim assholes and clean up the fucking mess that the fucking Baby Boomers created.

Have added said video to my facebook page (Oh how I can hear the wailing and nashing of teeth from my liberal minded relatives … oh well, they’ll get over it.) Outstanding words, music, and pictures.

I never would have thought there would come a time, this late in life, when I would quite possibly have to eat C-rats again (or similar canned goods). But this “Baby boomer”, Nav vet, constitution loving, oath honoring Squid, has no problem with doing what has to be done, when the time comes.

And when there are groups of folks of such high caliber, such as my fellow “Rotties” (and Rodger’s “barn army”, and SandraK’s “porch monkies” , as two other outstanding enclaves of the real spirit of America), perhaps there is hope for us all.

    Aww Mope,

You evidently never were in the vicinity of The Magnificent Ass™ when it erupts.

That’s a whole nuther barrel now.

‘Ain’t gonna argue ’bout the caliber or blast.

    Crunchie

It would be one of the greatest honors of my life, should the battle begin, to stand with men such as yourself. I would be humbled, and grateful to serve along people such as you, and MOST people I find here, should we be forced to go once more, into the breach, cry HAVOC … and let slip the Dogs of War.

    So says the one ..

Beat me to posting it, Crunchie, and quite appropriately too.

Your post kicked arse, and with that musical score and presentation, it kicked arse right out of this galaxy.

I’m proud and honored to have you, with your skills, posting here.

And even more to have you as a friend and brother.

    Semper Fi!

    What a remarkable refresher lesson!

So LC Joe Dromedary was a combat engineer :em04: If he ever come back this way, Essayons. :em69:

I’ll gladly take a happy birthday for my Corps from anyone, especially if they’ve worn the uniform (even if it is the uglier one).

Well then five years later, have another sir, :em04: :em03: – and from another combat engineer. But our uniforms aren’t really that much uglier. What really does it are those damn berets forced on the troops by Genetal General Shitsacki. That’s what really puts the mildew on the dog turd :em72:

I recognized the TLotM music; my former pipe band used to play it–but I never learned it. Possibly the sheet music still lurks in my collection, & maybe it’d be worth learning. Unfortunately, unlike the band, I couldn’t play both tunes at once… :em95:

Crunchie, ya may have written a classic. :em04:
