“Life” Under Obamacare

Since it’s obviously not sufficiently convincing that yours truly spent close to three decades under and working inside of the Utopian System of Nationalized Hellcare, we’ll just keep reporting stories like this one about the harsh realities about “free” health care (h/t LC Caveman):

The Government’s drug rationing watchdog says “therapeutic” injections of steroids, such as cortisone, which are used to reduce inflammation, should no longer be offered to patients suffering from persistent lower back pain when the cause is not known.

“Just let the buggering peasants suffer.”

Instead the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)

Brought to you by the Orwellian Institute of Wildly Misleading Acronyms…

is ordering doctors to offer patients remedies like acupuncture and osteopathy.

What about sacrificing live chickens or burying bacon in the back yard during a full moon?

Actually, sacrificing live members of parliament would be more appropriate. Using horribly rusty and blunt instruments.

Specialists fear tens of thousands of people, mainly the elderly and frail, will be left to suffer excruciating levels of pain or pay as much as £500 each for private treatment.

But… Isn’t Obamacare supposed to be “free?”

The NHS currently issues more than 60,000 treatments of steroid injections every year. NICE said in its guidance it wants to cut this to just 3,000 treatments a year, a move which would save the NHS £33 million.

And that’s the bottom line. In more ways than one. Once again, we tell you this: If you “think” that government gives a rat’s arse about you, then you’re too fucking dumb to live. To government, particularly when government holds a monopoly on the service that you depend upon, you’re just a number. A statistic. You’re not even human. If they’re in a budget crunch and cutting your treatment might help get them out of it then guess what? You just lived the longest time.

And if you’re equally stupid enough to think that the “deals” being cut in Congress these days about leaving out the mandatory public option is any better than the original abortion that Adolf Hussein Obama wanted, then you don’t deserve to waste oxygen either. Once government establishes itself as a “competitor” in the health care business, a “competitor” with unlimited income and an ability to print their own money, you can wave buh-bye to any and all alternatives that used to exist.

If Congress passes anything of the sort, I move that we round them all up and kill them in a highly public fashion, because that will mean the end of this nation as we used to know it. They and their fascist goons might try to kill us back, they’ll most likely even succeed in at least some cases, but believe you me: The Hell that will follow if they’re not stopped is far worse than death.

I lived it, so I know.

Thatisall.

Well so far I’ve only had the government kill two patients and we don’t have Obamacareless care yet.

As I indicated in my letter to you, Misha….if they killed my wife pulling that shit, dying in fear and pain, my new Mossie would get road tested. On those forcing such doctrines on her. As it is with the care she is getting she could still lose her life as per my last letter. And this is excellent care.

One other thing….just how are we going to pay for inferior health care we do not want? Let me guess.

I had a series of these steroid shots a few years back because of a bone spur in my neck, it was either that or surgery to remove the spur. The spur was pressing on my nerve channel and my left arm was almost permanently numb. The shots hurt like hell, I had to have a series of three of them….each injection lasting around 15 – 20 minutes as they injected the stuff around the inflammation….I never NEVER want to go through that again.

but ya’ know what? it worked…..haven’t had a problem since.

these compassionate souls who will mandate that our elderly and infirm live in pain should be given a healthy dose of what they prescribe…..namely physical pain and financial burden.

    My Liege,

Why would we want to sacrifice worthless, scum-sucking, Political Whores whose only redeeming quality is they offer bigger targets at which to zero our sights?

I would prefer tar, feathers and Political Whore (some assembly required) followed by those same such Whores being forced back (without cleaning) into the Biggest Little Whorehouse on the Potomac to un-do the damage they’ve done over the past 70 years. A group of suitably large, fit young men and women would be detailed to make sure the lying incompetents accomplish their assigned mission by applying the Royal Navy’s very own, patented ‘cheater’ knotted rope upon the Political Whore’s backside. Barney Frank, the Dairy Queen Herb Kohl, Larry Craig and the other Members of the ‘DC Bar’ would be exempt from cheater application (they’d like it too much) so having them spend quality time with Mrs M-ITT and her friends would be their reward.

After that, railroad, handcar, Political Whore (some assembly required) to send them to their retirement.

Its getting pretty close to the tipping point I think. The smaller nations have allways had the US as a check on the excesses of our own governments.
For example the USSR lost the cold war precisely because it was plain to anyone with eyes which system worked better at promoting peoples happiness.

Now the US is catching a case of socalism I can only tremble as the politicans who couldnt point out ONE SINGLE THING (apart from making life easier for the tax eaters) socialism did better than the free market all of a sudden have no check.
Australia has a mealy mouthed turd who thinks the UN is the worlds highest authority.
The Uk has managed to truely stun me today, I truely dispair for a nation that does this.

THOUSANDS of the worst families in England are to be put in “sin bins” in a bid to change their bad behaviour, Ed Balls announced yesterday.

The Children’s Secretary set out £400million plans to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV super-vision in their own homes.

Now no-one likes scum who cant look after themselves or thier kids. But that story sends chills down my spine. It is literally Orwell come to life.

Ive seen the future and it is a boot crashing into a face…forever..

If by osteopathy they mean essentially chiropractic adjustments, they actually aren’t necessarily totally off-base; there have been some legitimate studies on non-specific lower back pain which showed as great, if not greater pain relief from manual adjustment instead of traditional pain meds/steroid shots/etc, and I’ve seen some back pain centers run by MDs with chiropracters on staff.

I had excellent results from my osteopath in Dublin, but of course my lower back pain was related to a dislocated sacro-iliac joint which he fixed.

But of course, what works for one patient, or even for a majority of patients doesn’t work for all of them. (I know because I’m an outlier on a lot of stuff.) And to potentially mandate only the cheapest treatment for everyone without finding out who it works for is criminal.

On a related note, I found this link at CrankyLitProf’s place. Its from the ACLU, but even they can get stuff right occasionally. It’s actually rather scary, because it’s the logical end result of Obama and the Dems’ plans.

And the government that couldn’t pull off a simple thing like the “cash for clunkers” program effectively is the same one that DJ wants in charge of HIS health care?

As Boortz pointed out, car dealers have been dealing with trade-ins for generations (without government assistance). Once the feds got involved, it was one big SNAFU, as it always is when government is involved.

One thing I’m curious about…why are MY tax dollars going to someone else to trade in THEIR car so they can get a new one?

No one gave me a taxpayer-funded handout/bailout on MY old clunker when I bought MY new car. Can I make it retroactive?

As for the Cash for Clunkers fiasco, it’s been confirmed that the ‘gub’mint has required dealers to pour corrosive liquids into the crankcases of the traded-in cars to render them useless. Isn’t that a shittyassedmudda’fuckin’ bit WASTEFUL??
As for the Obamacare, KEEP IT!! I damn near lost both my mom and my sister to cancer a few years back, and gov.’t issued healthcare would have KILLED them!!

Hell, they do that with guns too, destroy them. Or course nobody has suggested it could be a back door gift to the UAW…..have they? Or perhaps scrap dealers?

    Cannon Fodder says:

Mr Prez recently pointed out that Medicare is socialized medicine. As one who has to depend on it, I say it blows!
I am a diabetic and have problems with ulcers and sores on my legs. My doctor recently wrote me a script for some antibiotic ointment called Bensal. This hit costs almost $300 for the tube. My part D coverage doesn’t! So, I get to plug along with these persistent sores that take forever to go away! By the time they DO go away, more will have popped up and I have nothing but common OTC antibiotic ointments that I can use. Dear leader doesn’t care if I lose my legs over this shit, which some day I am sure I will.

Under Medicare, you are allowed to have life, but not quality of life!

Then, what about my teeth? When they go bad and need to be extracted, why won’t they pay for that? Isn’t that really healthcare too? The infections can cause everything up to and including DEATH! Not to mention the excruciating pain! I had one a few months back that needed to be removed DESPERATELY and had to borrow the money to get it removed because the gubmint would rather I just suffer.

You already HAVE access to that…in Canada. Why do you liberals insist on screwing up all the good stuff for the rest of us when what you want already exists elsewhere?

Why wreck a perfectly good country when no one is stopping you from moving to one of the other “socialist utopias” that you libs are so fond of?

Personally, I don’t give a shit if the government does it or a private company does it — as long as it is centralized, low overhead, and some bean counter isn’t second-guessing a doctor over treatment.

If it is centralized, there will be a bean counter.
