What? Is He Still Alive

I suppose he is, since he’s typing and it would be prodigious hard to type if you were dead.

I’m also keenly aware of the fact that I have been neglecting my duties and I can offer nothing more than my apologies for it, worthless as they are. Why? Because… I don’t know… Disaster after disaster hitting our beloved country as the Teleprompter Marxist in Chief drives stake after stake into the heart of our sacred republic with nobody doing anything to stop it combined with prices on everything going up, as well all of you know, the continued insecurity about my personal employment future that I still know nothing about etc. etc. etc.

Still, now is the time for all good men…

And I suppose I’m not one of those. The muse has left me. She’ll return, I’m sure, but in the meantime I’ve left all of you wondering what the Hell happened to me and I’ve not done a good job of letting you know, and that’s a British Understatement. I apologize.

I guess that I’m mildly shocked. I always thought that Americans, an honorable group of people to whom I belong through Providence, wouldn’t put up with this kind of shit for more than five minutes, but I guess I was wrong. Back where I come from, an obvious poseur like the Teleprompter in Chief might have lasted for quite a while because the people over there just haven’t got what it takes, but I never thought that it could happen over here. I always thought that the love of liberty, stronger here than anywhere else on Earth since this nation was built upon that very notion would not tolerate a fascist bastard like the Obamessiah for more than the blink of an eye.

This is a nation that was built upon the blood and sacrifice of ignorant farmers standing up to the most powerful military nation on Earth after all, and they stood up and won.

It is kind of hard to imagine a nation like that meekly submitting to an inexperienced clown with a G-d complex but here we are.

We’d have been better off with King George. At least his subjects had balls and weren’t lining up to hand them in.

We have become a nation of cowards, and I suppose we deserve what we’re about to get because of it.

And that’s depressing as all Hell. Lucifer ain’t in it. Washington would weep to see what we’ve become, and Franklin would add to “a Republic, if you can keep it…” the words “but obviously you can’t, you fat, complacent, baaing sheep.”

Thatisall.

Excellent research there, Subotai. That’ll be a proud addition to the Kenyan fleet. Wouldn’t you know it though, the current regime, in yet another break from tradition, has demanded that the Department of the Navy name one of their vessels in honor of Obama while he’s still squatting.

This is what they came up with…..

That’s the Obama Civilian Defense Corps Detachment in dress uniform manning the rails.

    Chins up, people.

The Patriots who fought for our freedom from England were only one-third of the nation’s population. A third were Royalists, and a third sat on the fence.

We’re really spoiled, you know? If you want to see what some of your forebears have done in the name of freedom, look up the Battle of Guadalcanal. And snap out of it.

There lies the port; the vessel puffs her sail:
There gloom the dark broad seas. My mariners,
Souls that have toil’d, and wrought, and thought with me–
That ever with a frolic welcome took
The thunder and the sunshine, and opposed
    Free hearts, free foreheads—you and I are old;
    Old age had yet his honour and his toil;
Death closes all: but something ere the end,
Some work of noble note, may yet be done,

Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods.

The lights begin to twinkle from the rocks:
The long day wanes; the slow moon climbs; the deep
    Moans round with many voices.

    Come, my friends,
‘Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in the old days
    Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
    One equal-temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

When I hear complaints like this, of the futility of one’s good cause, I’m reminded of Elijah’s predicament–as he saw it–in 1 Kings 19. Having literally slaughtered the Baalist prophets in his famous Mt. Carmel contest, he gets a death threat from Queen Hillary Jezebel & high-tails it outta there:

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers…And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for you. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat [the original Wonder Bread™] forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God. And he came thither to a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said to him, What do you here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

After a big wind, earthquake & fire G*d asks him the same question & receives the same answer. Then Elijah hears this:

And the LORD said to him, Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when you come, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shall you anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shall you anoint to be prophet in your room. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.

Ther are so many of these bills getting introduced all over the state…all the time that I had to search it to see if I was missing something.

The last statewide attempt at this seems to be AB362 back in 2007 which went nowhere.

However there was SB776 which just got pulled by the author due to lack of support just today that was another attempt to register magazines over 10 rounds.

There was a city proposition to register ammo in Long Beach, it died, thanks again to the support of the NRA.

There is some good news from this state:

AB357, sponsored by Assembly Member Steve Knight (R-36), would create a “shall issue” concealed handgun permit system in California. Under current law, an applicant must show cause as to why they should be issued a permit to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense. AB357 would remove that stipulation and require sheriffs to issue the license if all other mandated criteria are satisfied.

Right now, unless you’re a very close friend of a politician or the Sheriff, you ain’t getting a CC no how, no way.

That the bill is up for consideration could be considered a victory.

Baby steps. That someone would bring up “shall Issue” in Kalifoniastan is a major leap. I’ll be happy just to be able to carry my sidearm…if I had one,,,and if I had one, I certainly wouldn’t carry it about without first disassembling it and storing the ammo (in my 10 round or less magazine) in a place that is not accessible with said (non-existent) disassembled firearm.

I felt the change in 1996 when the majority of Americans who bothered to vote re-elected the Coward and Chief with the full knowledge that he was draft dodging, Lying Bastard who admitted to Perjury before a Federal Grand Jury while soiling the oval office. The reason the MSM found that no one cared about the quality of their President was that their IRA’s were doing well so they just did not care. Having seen this I held my nose and voted for the liberal Republican twice. As a member of the military I must give him credit for doing most of the right things in 01, 02 and the start of 03. after that I’ll give him credit for eight years of no terrorist attacks inside the US. I hoped and prayed that I was wrong about my fellow Americans when Obama was selected to run, and wished that they would wake up before that fateful day in November. I now am preparing for what I must do to protect myself, my family and if possible my country. I am preparing to retire from the military and have thought of running for political office only I can’t stand the stench of the Republican party. I hope and pray that our fellow Americans will awake from their slumber soon, but with the 12+ years of government indoctrination I don’t know if they will wake up before they find themselves enslaved. For those of us who are left, keep the faith that what America stands for is worth fighting to protect and preserve even if we are the minority. Maybe we can apply for Affirmative action placement in government and attack them from within. :em95:

As for the CA gun law question, I feels a change in the winds, says I… because as of Monday, the Second Amendment applies to the states and local governments, including CA…. so…

Right now, unless you’re a very close friend of a politician or the Sheriff, you ain’t getting a CC no how, no way.

That is going to change since Monday’s decision specifically invalidates the ninth circuit court’s previous decision that made discretionary issue ‘constitutional’.

There are already challenges to discretionary issue policies as well as the CA AWB in the court system… not ‘in the works’ but already filed, as most of them were filed subsequent to the Heller decision coming down and Nordyke v. King just adds fuel to the fire.

Aside from the ignorant and fearful, most Californians have no problem with guns in private hands. I know I drive by dozens daily going to work. Never been shot at, not yet anyway. I would not mind open carry one bit, my choice, to carry or not. Largely I wouldn’t, say work for example. I could cause a big lawsuit, but I don’t feel it would be necessary. What a lot of people have a problem with is the thugs out there lacking any discretion, sense of logic or restraint. You do not shoot somebody for calling you names. It wouldn’t take long for the hotheads and thugs to get wiped out by the rest of the civilian population. Not to mention armed robberies would probably drop overall. There remain those with their heads firmly ensconced within their assholes, claiming a ban is needed. Sure worked with drugs now, didn’t it? Civility and respect would return to society, social protocols reinforced. I already live by them, and I don’t carry. Not yet, anyway…….

Been gone for a while. So long I had to re-register! Life took a downturn last October with the loss of my son, stillborn at 17 weeks, and went further downhill with the election of the Apologist-in-Chief. I stayed off the blogs because… well, I just didn’t have it in me. Things are a bit better now and it’s good to be back home with my fellow Rotties.

Good news about Kalifornikate actually considering a “shall issue” CC law. Sadly, the urban asswipes will kill it. Still… a tiny bright spot in bleak landscape.

Mrs. Major and I finally got around to applying for our CC in Oklahoma. She’ll be toting a brand new 40S&W Glock 27 and me? Well, the Major likes his 10mm Glock 20 or a 3″ Magnaported 629 Smith in 44Mag if I’m in the mood for a wheel gun. If it makes itty bitty holes, goes “bang” instead of a “KA-BOOM,” and doesn’t hurt to shoot, then it’s a weenie gun. Hell, I’d carry a 2 3/4″ 500 Smith & Wesson magnum if it were legal to do so in Oklahoma!

Give your wife my best and tell her it will be okay.

Now, as to CC…Georgia has a good law, and there is reciprocity for at least 20 states. California isn’t listed as one of the states that recognize the right to CC.

Oh well. Baby steps. Maybe that is something that can be a focus for the California Rotties. Long years ago before whatever insanity took place re: handguns, my dad used to take me shooting at Laguna Seca. He was also a member of the Swiss Rifle Club in Monterey County. I never was interested in weapons simply because I assumed the 2nd amendment would always be protected, and I thought of gun ownership as a huge responsibility.
For all that my husband was in the military, I just never bothered to learn much beyond handguns versus shotguns and rifles. I also had no interest in disarming others simply because I didn’t carry; again, the 2nd amendment was my reasoning behind it. That all changed in November.

    Major,

You don’t know me because I became active here after your loss. But I’ve been there. My son was 11 when we lost him. That was 24 years ago. I won’t presume to say I know how you feel, but I think I have a pretty good idea. When it happened, for a month I was pretty much worthless. Then, bit by bit it became possible to cope a bit more as time went on. You and Mrs. Major have to [and I assume are] take care of each other when the dark times come. I won’t say that time heals and ends the pain. But it does allow scar tissue to form around, and contain, the pain. It will break out every so often, but it will not keep you from taking care of the rest of your family and doing what must be done.

Just know that you are not alone.
