I know all of you peasants are currently getting ready for the SuperBowl and there’s nothing wrong with that. So am I.

But it’s Sunday, so for those who are thusly inclined, I offer the most beautiful, in my opinion, rendition of Schubert’s “Ave Maria”

We are all in the hands of G-d, and in these troubled times, turning to Him for comfort… It’ll all be alright.

It’ll all be alright…thanks Misha. For personal reasons I needed to hear that today.

I grew up with classical music. My father hated anything written before the invention of electricity. :em02:

Because of that I have very eclectic tastes in music. Every thing from this fine piece to Def Leopard and Led Zeplin.

Now, if you will allow me, I will provide a link to a very safe for work video of a very bright young lady.

This lady is not quite our last best hope, but rather a bight shining beacon for the future of our nation. :em04:

And if you will permit, my personal take on what she wants to do:

Thank you for that fine musical interlude. And as to the Superbowl? I have a nice book I’m reading. :em93:

I was thinking of you when I was listening to that today, Caveman. I was thinking of a lot of things, actually. And I’m thinking of you too, Jaybear.

    It’ll all be alright.

    G-d’s will be done.

I still can’t help being all choked up when I hear that song, however.

    But it’ll all be alright.

G-d promised me that, and He’s never broken a promise.

    Non nobis, non nobis, Domine
    Sed nomini tuo da gloriam.

Beautiful. It’s funny, I found this same piece on Youtube a couple of weeks back while looking for the English language version from the video game Rainbox Six (when you assault a drug lords mansion, it’s playing on the stereo in the living room, usually just before some armed goons rush you. Weird scene, with all the serenity of the soundtrack and the gunfire, flashbangs and screams).

Thanks for posting it though, we all need a little serenity in our lives.

Hey Misha, looks like Debbie ‘Tits On A Bull’ Shlushface is going after Michelle Malkin…..again:

    Debbie Schlussel wrote:
Michelle Fraudkin was a complete disaster and failure when she was a guest on the show and couldn’t hold her own in the least. Malkin promotes anti-Semitic articles and helps people and organizations who praised Muslim death, rape, and torture threats on me and my family. She’s a complete phony and wouldn’t be a plus for conservatives there. She only does well in settings like FOX News, where she gets paid to have dumb people fawn over her every lifted word. DS

Yes, THAT Michelle Fraudkin. She’s a complete fake. I’ll be writing a separate column on this in the near future. If that’s conservative for you, you belong on the Stormfront and Buchanan sites, not here. DS

Thanks, Misha. For a life that lasted less than 32 years, Franz Schubert still used what little time he was allotted to write some of the world’s most beautiful and enduring music. And Ave Maria ranks at or near the top.

Like the Heavenly Choirs themselves were singing. Every time I hear this piece it takes me back to my wedding Mass. Ave Maria played during the Eucharist. The church was silent save for the very talented young lady singing. Thanks Boss, I needed this. Everything will be just fine, just fine indeed.

Yes, joined together in the presence of friends and family…before the eyes of God…..that alone has helped me weather a great deal lately. And it is why a man should place his wife in a very special place in his life…..first place.

Misha, this always moves me to tears, especially when Luciano Pavarotti sang it…thanks so much for posting.

And it doesn’t hurt to ask the Lord’s Blessed Mother to pray for you. (Yes, I believe the saints, those in Heaven do pray for us, I don’t think good and Godly people forget about the rest of us once they enter into Heaven.)

My mom had requested this be sung at her Funeral Mass which we honored. Unfortunately, the church singer could not handle the notes of this most beautiful hymn.

In 2003, I went to Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland for a close friend’s wedding. A friend’s wife, who is an opera singer, sang Ave Maria. Not a dry eye in the house.

Incidentally, if you wanna get married right, you have the reception/dinner/balls-out Irish rager till 0900 at this place.

…Because, for a lot of guys and when honesty has it’s way, She, is the reason we do the most difficult, tedious, craziest, humiliating things we do.
Some of our most proud achievements,,
The things we’d simply never do for ourselves, but now that we see how bad She wants it…

    So then, do we.

Our happiness arises directly out of hers.

I keep this rendition handy on the computer so that when everyone in the office is screaming and running around in circles, I can play it and calm down. Is it Barbara Bonney who is singing?

Amen to that, Heather. I think mine kept my dad from stomping me down the toilet a few times. I was a strong minded sort when a kid. My mother is still here but I do not know for how long. Men tend to hold their moms in a very special place too. I do.
