...

Much ado is being made about the latest auto-fellatio by King Narcissus Teh Won Obaminable as more and more Democrats decide to abandon the Titanic to “spend time with their families” rather than being butt-reamed in November:

Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs “off into that swamp” of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.

“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”

Really, now. He does have a point. There is a big difference between ‘94 and now and that difference is, to a large extent, Teh Won (and, of course, Dingy Harry and Botox Pelosi). In ‘94, for instance, we had a president and an NSDWP who realized that they were about to get the Mother of All Assrapes at the polls and, too late, tried to steer back towards the middle.

The NSDWP of today don’t have that to bitterly cling to. King Narcissus of the “O” is still every bit as much enraptured with his own awesomeness and its ability to make the waters of electoral defeat recede (tell that to Corzine, Coakley et al) that he and his lackeys, Pelousy and Screed, have no intention whatsoever of facing reality and start manning the pumps.

So yes, Teh Won will make a difference. He’s the reason that His Imperial Majesty is beginning to think that conservatives gleefully expecting a repeat of ‘94 are overly pessimistic.

So, to you, Obamandias, Clown of Clowns, we have only this to offer: Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes! Don’t listen to the nay-sayers reading the polls and concluding that a majority of Americans think that we’d be better off with Carter back as president. What do they know? You are Teh Won™, after all, and if reality gets in the way you have Teh Awesome Power of Hope and Change™ that enables you to reject it and substitute your own.

Keep spreading your Awesome™, keep believing your own press, keep ignoring the sounds of peasants ramming down the gates while Axelturf, Plouffter and the rest service your Royal Genitals and we may soon see an America free of the socialist scourge.

If His Majesty were of the conspiratorial kind, he would be suspecting that you were a Rovian plant, because nothing and nobody has done more damage to the NSDWP brand than you, and all of that in just one year.

So keep it up. Please. Don’t slow down. The last thing we want is for you to grow a brain and pull a Clinton on us through triangulation.

“Pull a Clinton?”

The jokes just keep writing themselves.

Anyway, carry on, Oboonga.

Please.

Thatisall.

That’s what worries me. They’ll just substitute their own electoral (or worse) “reality” when the time comes.

No matter, the same principles apply- let ‘em try something outrageous. I hope they do so. Double on down, socialist scum. Create the opportunity, precipitate the Crisis.

Obama has been shaping up for a one term presidency since Election Day ‘08. Sure, he’s got the great smile and looks good when staying on his prepared remarks, but he’s starting to reek of that same schmultzy “charm” that a used car salesman has. If Obama were any more overexposed, he’d be white (maybe that is what happened to Michael Jackson). Tomorrow’s SOTU address stands to get lower ratings than a rerun of South Park.

The real political trick this year will be getting the GOP to understand that just because the Tea Partiers seem to really hate Democrats that it doesn’t mean the Tea Partiers like the GOP. I’m as pissed off at Republicans like Steele and McCain as any democrat. If the conservative candidates out there distance themselves from the Republican brand and pay attention to the anger and frustration concentrated in the Tea Party movement, then they stand to clean house this November. If they continue to be the milquetoast party of Steele and McCain, they may still pick up a few seats in both chambers, but it won’t be the upheaval that ‘94 was.

Then we have to work and find ourselves a candidate for ‘12. There just aren’t any potentials out there right now who stand a chance of beating our Candidate in Chief. For all his faults, Obama does know how to be a candidate. Palin just won’t get the job done (I’d prefer she take over for Steele) and I sincerely hope that McCain has learned his lesson that he just isn’t ever going to be POTUS (I doubt it though) and never run again. I hope at some point we, as a society, learn that legislators make horrible executives.

We can retake our country, but I know the libs won’t let us have it back without their level best at a scorched earth strategy sowing salt in the fields as they retreat.

Holy Crap, right next to it is THIS story:

    Berkeley’s letter to President Ahmadinejad

And the fight goes on to free three UC Berkeley grads who were detained in Iran after straying across the border during a July hike. Iran claims the trio — Shane Bauer, 27, of Emeryville, his girlfriend Sarah Shourd, 31, of Oakland, and Joshua Fattal, 27, of Cottage Grove, Ore. — had “suspicious aims” and have been accused of spying.

Since the hikers’ capture, friends and family have tried everything from videos to Facebook to petitions free them. In December, Norah Shourd, Sarah’s mother, appealed to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a YouTube video. The families also recently hired Masoud Shafii, a prominent lawyer in Iran.

Now, Berkeley City Councilman Kriss Worthington is submitting his own letter (PDF) to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, asking for their release. The note begins with this plea:

Mr. President, this letter is to formally plead that you do everything in your power to achieve maximum leniency for Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd, and Josh Fattal from the Judiciary System.

But what caught the attention of The New York Times and the The Daily Clog was the fourth paragraph, which points out the city’s opposition to American Mideast policies:

“As the first city in the United States to oppose military intervention and/or use of force in Iran in 2007, as well as oppose the bombings of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq (as was proposed and/or carried out during the Bush administration), we have a long record of respect for Islamic nations and their rights. However, we do not agree with the decision to further detain these three young Americans, though it is well within the rights of the Iran to do so.”

The Times asked Worthington about the letter. He said:

“This is coming from somebody who has been on their side against the U.S. attacking them. We’re a peace-loving city that has defended their country and region from attacks.”

You can read the letter (includes a Farsi translation and a statement from Noam Chomsky) here. For more videos and photos, check Freethehikers.org.
