It’s official: The ProgMedia have now officially gone off the deep end, copying a page from the playbooks of Castro and Chavez and blaming everything on some dark, sinister, foreign power that is ever-present and ever-threatening. The RUSSIANS! (Yes, yes, we know, it’s hardly the first time the ProgNazis have tried blaming their own failures and catastrophically poor judgment on the Russians, but the Washington Compost is really plumbing new depths here).
Every single thing you heard about Hitlery during the campaign? That’s right! All of that was “fake news” published by fiendishly clever Russian propagandists. All of it lies, LIES, we tell you!
Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery — including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human “trolls,” and networks of Web sites and social-media accounts — echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers.
And the factually incorrect part is…???
Thankfully, an anonymous group of “nonpartisan” “analysts” calling themselves PropOrNot (Hi, John Sexton!) have taken it upon themselves to identify “fake news sites” that are wholly owned subsidiaries of Vladimir Putin’s propaganda imperium and provided us all with a handy list so that we may quickly identify and dismiss any and everything coming from them. Sites such as… er… Drudge Report.
No, we’re not kidding.
But we ARE laughing our arse off.
