    Rubio Opposes House-Senate Budget Deal

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement today announcing his opposition to the House-Senate budget deal:

“We need a government with less debt and an economy with more good paying jobs, and this budget fails to accomplish both goals, making it harder for more Americans to achieve the American Dream. Instead, this budget continues Washington’s irresponsible budgeting decisions by spending more money than the government takes in and placing additional financial burdens on everyday Americans.

“In the short run, this budget also cancels earlier spending reductions, instead of making some tough decisions about how to tackle our long-term fiscal challenges caused by runaway Washington spending. I voted against sequestration because of its effect on key programs, including the defense budget, but higher spending and more revenue are not the appropriate ways to address that problem.

President Obama’s Statement on Budget Deal

President Barack Obama praised budget negotiators for striking a deal on the federal government’s budget, which rolls back some sequester cuts to military and other programs in 2014 and 2015. Below is his full statement.

Statement by the President on the Budget

Earlier this year, I called on Congress to work together on a balanced approach to a budget that grows our economy faster and creates more jobs – not through aimless, reckless spending cuts that harm our economy now, but by making sure we can afford to invest in the things that have always grown our economy and strengthened our middle class. Today’s bipartisan budget agreement is a good first step.

This agreement replaces a portion of the across-the-board spending cuts known as “the sequester” that have harmed students, seniors, and middle-class families and served as a mindless drag on our economy over the last year. It clears the path for critical investments in things like scientific research, which has the potential to unleash new innovation and new industries. It’s balanced, and includes targeted fee increases and spending cuts designed in a way that doesn’t hurt our economy or break the ironclad promises we’ve made to our seniors. It does all this while slightly reducing our deficits over time – coming on top of four years of the fastest deficit reduction since the end of World War II. And because it’s the first budget that leaders of both parties have agreed to in a few years, the American people should not have to endure the pain of another government shutdown for the next two years.

This agreement doesn’t include everything I’d like – and I know many Republicans feel the same way. That’s the nature of compromise. But it’s a good sign that Democrats and Republicans in Congress were able to come together and break the cycle of short-sighted, crisis-driven decision-making to get this done. That’s the way the American people expect Washington to work. I want to thank Senator Murray, Congressman Ryan and all the other leaders who helped forge this bipartisan agreement. And I want to call on Members of Congress from both parties to take the next step and actually pass a budget based on this agreement so I can sign it into law and our economy can continue growing and creating jobs without more Washington headwinds.

But, as I said last week, the defining challenge of our time is not whether Congress can pass a budget – it’s whether we can make sure our economy works for every working American. And while today’s agreement is a good first step, Congress has a lot more to do on that front. In the immediate term, Congress should extend unemployment insurance, so more than a million Americans looking for work don’t lose a vital economic lifeline right after Christmas, and our economy doesn’t take a hit. And beyond that, they should do more to expand broad-based growth and opportunity – by creating more jobs that pay better wages, by growing our economy, and by offering a path into the middle class for every American willing to work for it.

They have bamboozled the American people and continue to do so.
Now the ACA is attacking prescription drugs. My last prescription went up 500%. I know many others that need medication to survive and the new plans do not include their medications and will have to pay out of pocket. My sister has MS and her medication just skyrocketed. She paid $250 per month for one medication to control her MS and now it is $2250 per month. She can not afford to pay that, hell no one can. That is just one medication. Imagine the hundreds of million that now will have to pay full retail because the Administration is paying back the drug companies. This is another form of population control. Think about it.

With time running out to reauthorize a 5-year Farm Bill, sources on Capitol Hill tell Breitbart News that Congressional leaders are preparing a short-term, one-month extension to allow more time for negotiations. Congress is desperate not to let the Farm Bill expire on December 31st. If it does, a decades old law would be triggered, causing the price of a gallon of milk to spike to $8 or more a gallon.

If the Farm Bill expires, farm programs revert to permanent law, passed in 1949. That law would require the federal government to buy milk and dairy products from producers at around twice the market rate. The government would also be required to maintain that price level through additional buying. It is estimated it would cost the government $12 billion a year to support the higher milk price level.

The provision is a good reminder that subsidies and crony capitalism is not a recent phenomenon. The agriculture industry held considerably more political power last century than it does today. The legacy of their lobbying power is still felt today.

In recent years, the Farm Bill has evolved away from the traditional crop subsidies we associate with the legislation. Today, 80% of the spending in the $500 billion bill is consumed by food stamps. That program, in fact, has been the main sticking point between negotiators trying to reach a deal.

Those arcane farm programs still have power, however. No lawmaker wants to go into an election year with milk spiking to $8 a gallon and other dairy products becoming more expensive. It also means the Farm Bill, no matter how antiquated in today’s market of massive agri-business corporations, will never really go away.

“He’s a complete fraud,” said Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town.”He wasn’t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around.” Local interpreter Francois Deysel said the man was “moving his arms (to) try look busy” in an “embarrassing” spectacle. Nicole Du Toit, another official sign language interpreter who also watched the broadcast, said in a telephone interview that the man on stage purporting to sign was an embarrassment.

“It was horrible, an absolute circus, really really bad,” she said. “Only he can understand those gestures.” South African parliamentarian Wilma Newhoudt-Druchen, a deaf member of the ruling party, also said the man communicated nothing with his hand and arm movements.South African sign language covers all of the country’s 11 official languages, according to the federation.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a different method to communicate.Loening said her organisation was getting mail from around the world “wondering what on earth this man was doing there”.”It’s a real embarrassment. It’s complete disrespect for the deaf community and for what Nelson Mandela stood for and the suppor which he gave toward the deaf community.”

Jackson Mthembu, spokesman for the governing African National Congress party, declined to comment. “Government will be able to assist you,” Mthembu said. The South African government is preparing a statement.

Budget deal is a joke and betrayal: Expert
    Wednesday, 11 Dec 2013 | 11:35 AM ET
CNBC’s Rick Santelli and David Stockman, OMB director under President Ronald Reagan, discuss the budget deal. Stockman says the deal is the final surrender of House Republican leadership.

House Republicans “capitulated” in agreeing to the two-year budget deal reached last night and left the country to deal with an unsustainable fiscal situation until the peak of the presidential primaries in 2015, when nothing will get done, former federal budget director David Stockman told CNBC on Wednesday.

“First, let’s be clear—it’s a joke and betrayal,” Stockman, who served under President Ronald Reagan, said on “Squawk on the Street.” “It’s the final surrender of the House Republican leadership to Beltway politics and kicking the can and ignoring the budget monster that’s hurtling down the road.”

Stockman added that the budget deal means lawmakers would take a “two-year vacation” from dealing with the country’s fiscal situation and revisit it in 2015 at around the same time as the Iowa straw polls. Without an incumbent in the presidential race, both political parties will be too busy to touch the budget, he said.

While some hailed the budget deal as a breakthrough in Washington’s political gridlock, Stockman compared the accord to “kicking the can” into “low Earth orbit.”

“There’s plenty of room, but they’re unwilling to make the tough choices,” he said. “Now, I understand Democrats doing that. The only hope of getting our fiscal situation under control is if the House Republicans stand up. And they’ve totally capitulated.”

Here are five things the media aren’t telling you about today’s ObamaCare numbers:

    1. ObamaCare Is at Less Than 30% of Its Stated Goal:

Let’s start with the number of enrollees the White House predicted they have by now: 1.2 million. Even using the Administration’s juiced number of 364,000 enrollees, that is only 30% of a goal that was low-balled to begin with.

The real enrollee number is is probably half that (see #4).

    2. ObamaCare Has Likely Increased the Number of Uninsured:

ObamaCare has resulted in 5.2 million Americans having their insurance policies cancelled. While some of those ObamaCare victims likely re-enrolled directly with their insurance company, who knows how many were forced into the exchanges. It is therefore a safe guess that, as of right now, ObamaCare has resulted in a net increase in the number of uninsured in America (even if you include the 800,000 new Medicaid enrollees).

    3. ObamaCare Is Primarily Enrolling People Who Were Already Insured:

Since 5.2 million had their insurance plans canceled and only 364,000 signed up with ObamaCare, this also means that it is highly unlikely that a large number of those signing up for ObamaCare were once among the uninsured ObamaCare was designed to help. What you have instead are those who were already insured being herded against their will into exchanges, where many face higher-priced premiums, higher deductibles, and the loss of their doctors.

    4. The Real Enrollment Number Is Probably Less Than 150,000

What is especially dishonest in today’s reporting is the use of the word “enrollment.” If you do not pay for your premium you are neither insured nor enrolled, and numerous insurance providers are reporting that only 5% to 15% of those who have signed up for ObamaCare have actually enrolled paid.

That number is perfectly in line with studies that show a 67% online shopping cart abandonment rate.

    5. ObamaCare Is Hurting Millions to Help Thousands

Let’s be generous and assume that by the end of the year that the percentage rate of those who really do enroll triples to 50%. That would mean that, as of today, Barack Obama, the Democrats, and the media have all conspired to overturn our health care system to deliver ObamaCare to 175,000 people who were probably already insured to begin with.

Bottom line: Five-plus million Americans have been hurt by ObamaCare compared to the thousands benefitting.

Congressmen Want to Bring Obama to Court for Not Faithfully Executing Laws
30 members support the House Resolution calling for civil action.
    1:49 PM, Dec 12, 2013 • By DANIEL HALPER

Congressman Tom Rice of South Carolina, a Republican, is sponsoring a resolution in the House of Representatives that would, if adopted, direct the legislative body “to bring a civil action for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge certain policies and actions taken by the executive branch.” In other words, Rep. Rice wants to take President Obama to court for not faithfully executing the laws.

“President Obama has adopted a practice of picking and choosing which laws he wants to enforce. In most cases, his laws of choice conveniently coincide with his Administration’s political agenda. Our Founding Fathers created the Executive Branch to implement and enforce the laws written by Congress and vested this power in the President. However, President Obama has chosen to ignore some of the laws written by Congress and implemented by preceding Presidents,” Rice wrote in a letter to fellow House members to ask them to co-sponsor this resolution.

“This resolution allows the House of Representatives to bring legal action against the Executive Branch and challenge recent actions, inactions, and policies.”

The “legal action against the President” would be, according to an aide for Rep. Rice, “for ignoring Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution.” Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution states,

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

The resolution alleges that President Obama and his administration have abused executive power and failed to execute the laws of the United States faithfully.

Thus, the resolution calls for “CIVIL ACTION.—The House of Representatives shall bring a civil action in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge any of the following policies or actions:

    (1) The policy of the Department of Health and Human Services that, with respect to health insurance coverage that is renewed for a policy year during the period beginning January 1, 2014, and ending October 1, 2014, health insurance issuers may continue to offer coverage that

You can also use Translate’s player to read the results back to you out loud, record the Siri-like voice(s) as an mp3 that wouldn’t match your own voiceprint, get a couple of “burner” phones bought and maintained with cash, and send the resulting canned conversations back and forth at will from, say, Phone A live to Phone B voicemail, and vice versa.
If you’re an even sneakier little $#!^, you can use the power of Google translate to convert your English (or whatever) words into Arabic, Pashto, and any number of other high-interest dialects, play those live conversations around, and for nothing invested beyond boredom and keystrokes, invent an entire fictional terror cell, complete with dialog.

Of course, purely for research into your unpublished Clancy-esque novel.

You’d want to take the batteries out of the phones except when you were actually sending yourself a message, and drive somewhere far away from your house or office when you send. *I* can’t help it if you drove over to the cell tower nearest the local federal building, or international airport, and I’m certainly not responsible if you sent such a conversation to, for example, a US Embassy where the odds it’s being tape-recorded in real time are about 100%.

But I will remind you that making discernible terrorist threats is a crime, and that security cameras record facial features and license plates, which a halloween wig and sunglasses, public transportation, and half an hour reading spy-biz tradecraft from a Barnes and Noble book generally thwarts.

And don’t, under any circumstances, send Arabic conversations containing key phrases to voicemail accounts at places like the Southern Poverty Propaganda Center, See B.S. Nudes, Handgun Disarmament International, or the American Criminal Liberties Union, on the weekends, or at 3AM, when no one’s going to be there to answer their phones in person. Because sending the dung beetles to investigate terror cells among those groups would be…baaaaaaaad.

by Matthew Boyle 14 Dec 2013,

House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) misled his colleagues in the House of Representatives about several major areas of the budget deal he cut with Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Breitbart News has learned.

Misrepresentations include serious budget details ranging from how much deficit reduction is actually in the plan to how spending in this plan compares to spending if the current law, the Budget Control Act (BCA), remains the law of the land.

The budget deal passed the House 332-94 on Thursday evening, with 169 Republicans voting for it and 62 Republicans voting against it. The GOP support was thanks to Ryan’s selling of the plan among his colleagues, who largely trust him despite many figures of the conservative movement turning against him. Now, it turns out, Ryan used a series of statements whose veracity is questionable at best to convince his colleagues to support the bill.

Ryan’s claim, for instance, that this plan ends up resulting in $23 billion in total deficit reduction is not true. Ryan and Murray did not ask the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to estimate interest payments on the $63 billion in increased spending that will need to be borrowed for the first couple of years of the budget. As such, the CBO score does not represent the full financial picture of the plan.

Many in New York’s professional and cultural elite have long supported President Obama’s health care plan. Reports of erroneous WA Obamacare health exchange debits

Posted on December 10, 2013 at 8:28 AM

For the second week in a row, the Washington Healthplanfinder website is down, and it’s causing problems for people who are dealing with billing issues. Some of them say the website is mistakenly debiting their accounts.

Shannon Bruner of Indianola logged on to her checking account Monday morning, and found she was almost 800 dollars in the negative.

“The first thing I thought was, ‘I got screwed,’” she said.

The Bruners enrolled for insurance on the Washington Healthplanfinder website, last October. They say they selected the bill pay date to be December 24th. Instead the Washington Healthplanfinder drafted the 835 dollar premium Monday.

Josh Bruner started his own business this year as an engineering recruiter. They said it’s forced them to pay a lot of attention to their bills and their bank accounts.

“Big knot in my gut because we’re trying to keep it together,” said Shannon Bruner. “It’s important to me that this kind of stuff doesn’t happen.”

    They’re not alone.

One viewer emailed KING 5 saying, “They drafted my account this morning for a second time.”

Another woman on Facebook with a similar problem commented, “We are all in the same boat.”

“We’ve got to figure out how to get money to pay the bills for the next week or two until we have another check come through,” said Josh Bruner. “It’s just crazy.”

On Thursday night, after House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) gleefully denounced conservative groups as “losing all credibility,” 169 House Republicans joined Democrats on a march toward more spending and bigger government. It is a sad day that only sixty-two Republicans think that increasing spending is a bad thing.

By quickly passing the budget sell-out authored by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), the establishment Republicans decided to flatly reject the fiscally conservative mandate they received in 2010 after reclaiming the majority in the wake of Obamacare’s passage and ballooning debt.

The Budget Control Act of 2011, which was also passed with bipartisan support, set clear budget caps for discretionary spending. However, in an act of intentional political amnesia, this Ryan-Murray budget blasts through those caps by spending an additional $63 billion. In fact, this deal is actually worse than inaction because Republicans would have retained the small budget reductions from the sequester. Maintaining those cuts would have locked in $32 billion more in savings during the next two years. This deal negotiated away those savings. With so much new spending, how can this budget be considered a “compromise?”

The Ryan-Murray deal spends money that America does not have. It also raises numerous fees in exchange for questionable promises of cuts in the future. That budgeting tactic is one of the dirtiest tricks in Washington, kicking the can down the road while handing crushing debt to younger taxpayers.

Republicans took control of the House in 2010 on the promise to get our fiscal house in order with the help of the very conservative movement Speaker Boehner attacked. Ironically, it will now be left to the Republican minority in the Senate to stop this deal. Conservatives must stand with them as they fight this horrendous budget, and conservatives must be allowed at the budget negotiating table. Now is no time to wither while establishment Republicans conduct business as usual.

Well, this ain’t Bach, but it might make your day. Trouble ahead for Hillary?

NEW YORK – A threat to Hillary Clinton’s much anticipated 2016 presidential campaign appears to be developing in Egypt where the government is taking steps to criminalize the Muslim Brotherhood.

Specifically, a new criminal complaint has been filed with Egypt’s attorney general, Hisham Barakat, alleging U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton collaborated with Naglaa Mahmoud, the wife of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in seeking to excite domestic insurrections to topple Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Egyptian general who has been commander in chief of the Egyptian armed forces, as well as minister of defense, since Aug. 12, 2012.

Researcher Walid Shoebat, a native Arabic-speaker and a former Palestinian Liberation Organization operative, has reported on his blog credible news sources in Egypt have reported in Arabic that criminal charges brought against Hillary Clinton and Morsi’s wife.

Shoebat translated the following from an Egyptian Mehwar TV channel news video in which television reporter Nasr Qaffas explains on camera details of an interview Turkey’s Anatolia news agency conducted with Naglaa Mahmoud.

Obama Breaks Promise to Veterans to Support Ryan-Murray Budget Deal

by Mike Flynn 16 Dec 2013,
President Obama gave almost immediate approval to the budget deal negotiated by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), even as top Democrats expressed skepticism. In doing so, Obama breaks a promise he made to veterans and military personnel just a few months ago.

In September, Obama released his “key principles” for reforming the military’s compensation and retirement systems. As the Army Times reported:

President Obama wants to consider sweeping changes to the military’s retirement and compensation system, but he also said that all current troops should be grandfathered under the current retirement plan if they choose.

    From Obama’s “principles”:

The Commission’s recommendations for change must grandfather any currently serving members and current retirees in the current military retirement systems, but may allow current service members and current retirees the choice to change to your proposed retirement system (emphasis added)

The “Commission” is the Military Retirement and Compensation Modernization Commission, created by Congress to make recommendations on overhauling the military’s compensation and benefit systems. The Army Times noted that Obama’s requirement that any change would grandfather current personnel and retirees reassured troops who worried that the system would change before they reached retirement age.

It was a promise Obama made to members of the military anxious about the future. It is also a promise he broke when he endorsed the Ryan-Murray budget deal. As is often the case with Obama, “principles” are just temporary suggestions for how to proceed.

One of the spending cuts in the budget deal lowers the pension benefits of future and current veterans. The deal lowers the cost-of-living adjustments that are part of the military’s current pension system. Under the deal, future COLA adjustments would equal inflation minus 1%. The deal, and pension cuts, don’t grandfather current active-duty service members or veterans.

Military Families Host ‘Twitter Town Hall’ Against Budget Deal

by Mike Flynn 16 Dec 2013,
One of the more insignificant, yet pernicious, spending cuts in the Ryan-Murray budget is a reduction in military pensions. The changes would apply to current active-duty and retired military personnel under the age of 62. Many military families view these changes as a broken promise and, Breitbart News has learned, are convening a “Twitter Town Hall” Monday night in opposition to the budget deal. The grass roots event is targeting Senators up for reelection next year with the hashtag #KeepYourPromise.
