The Imperial Sniper Snipes Again!

The Imperial Sniper is back! After suffering a stroke that left her with, as she called it “wonky vision” and not shooting for over two years, she went to the range today. First, she tore the X-ring up with her beloved Springfield XD-9.

Then she moved to the 100 yard range, where she proved she could shoot “minute of center body mass” with an AR equipped with only an EOTech 512, no magnified optics. 30 rounds on target on a 12″ x 12″ square. The average iron sight shooter probably can’t do that.

We credit your prayers, and G-d’s healing grace, with today’s results. Thank you all, so much.

Now tear it up. I declare an OPEN THREAD™!

Nice shooting indeed for one that has been on hiatus and is rusty. Imagine the outcome after she’s got all the kinks worked out? Chin up with the handgun, sights to eyes. Really happy to hear the recovery is progressing. Keep on being sassy Deb. :em01:

Great news indeed but expected no less from our Glorious Lady. Now if we can get her to post a little more often, my daily lurking would be more fulfilling. Much love and best wishes to both of you.

Aww….thanks all. I had a good time and it felt good to be back behind a few bang sticks again. The only thing that would have made it all better would have been to have a bunch of Rotties out sharing the experience. :em01:

I know, I’ve been terribly lax in my duties and I do apologize. My only defense is that I’ve been so worn down by all the crap coming out of Mordor on the Potomac that I can’t bring myself to say much for fear of having a complete meltdown. I’ll do my best to see what I can find that won’t send my blood pressure into the danger zone. :em05:

Congrats on the recovery! Hope all continues to go well for you!

I do have a story for the open thread that I am all boiling and steaming over. I’ll let the video speak for itself.

If any of you Rotties are of the mind to help out this family, they have a legal defense fund set up on Indiegogo.

    http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-snodgrass-legal-fund

There is another video on the fund site of a community meeting involving the families who were affected by this. The local authorities and politicians declined the invitation to attend. Not. a bit. surprised.

I’ve had days like that, but I’ve never been quite where you were! My heart attack those number of years ago isn’t of the same grade as what you had. Deb, I’m overjoyed you’re better! Oh, and this might give you a smile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7ZYKMBDm4M

No worries! Obama golfs 150th round as superstorm devastates Philippines, Iran deal enrages

does it bother you that the president has played 150 rounds of golf while in office?

President Obama’s approval ratings may be stuck in a sand trap, but that has not deterred him from sticking to his weekly round of golf. After teeing off on Saturday at the private course in Florida where the film “Caddy Shack” was filmed, Mr. Obama hit the milestone number of 150 golf rounds in less than five years in the White House.

The Secret Service loaded Mr. Obama’s golf clubs bag emblazoned with the presidential seal into the motorcade Saturday morning to head to the private Grande Oaks Golf Club. Sporting a blue polo shirt with tan slacks and a cap, he spent five hours on the private course with former NBA star Alonzo Mourning, friend Cyrus Walker and former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

Mr. Obama wasn’t much of a duffer before he ran for president. His regularity on the green started on April 26, 2009. He played 27 times that first year in office, seven of which were during his vacations on Martha’s Vineyard and Hawaii.

During his second year as president, Mr. Obama played a little more — 30 rounds. He included a woman for only the second time when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius joined on Oct. 10, 2010.

Perhaps time on the links gave them time to discuss all the people they knew would lose their insurance when Obamacare was implemented. Ms. Sebelius also joined the president on the golf course on May 18 this year.

After 57 rounds in 19 months, Mr. Obama’s golf game improved. At the private Mid Pacific Country Club in Kailua, Hawaii on Dec. 28, 2010, the club’s golf pro, Mark Sousa, remarked to reporters that the president’s “swing looks a lot better this year.
