And Justice For “All”

So Lois Lerner, the fascist cunt who specifically targeted political groups opposed to Ear Leader’s regime for criminal harassment gets sent off, as “punishment”, on paid leave and then later is allowed to retire with full pension and bennies, while hundreds of thousands of “non-essential” employees are sent home on Ear Leader and Harry Reid’s orders without pay for… For what, exactly?

Welcome to the Democrat Socialists’ fascist America.

And while we’re on that depressing subject, we direct you to LC & IB Francis W. Porretto’s excellent post on the disturbing state of apathy and loss of belief in justice in this nation. More importantly, what that might mean for our future.

So last week, while most of the country was talking about football or fears of a government shutdown, Rasmussen released a poll that should worry everyone — but especially incumbent Democrats in Congress. According to Rasmussen’s survey, most Americans think the IRS broke the law by targeting Tea Party groups for harassment, but few expect it to be punished. Fifty-three percent think the IRS broke the law by targeting the Tea Party and other conservative groups like the voter-integrity outfit True The Vote; only 24% disagreed. But only 17% think it is even somewhat likely that anyone will be charged, while 74% think that criminal charges are unlikely.

That’s a quote of a quote. Sir Francis’ observations follow, and you’d be missing out if you don’t read them.

But think about it: A government agency engages in criminal suppression of opposition votes during an election year, and only 17% of the population think it even somewhat likely that consequences will follow from this clearly fascist overreach? Perhaps the real surprise here is that there are still 17% of the population who haven’t woken up and smelled the putrid stench of the totalitarian coffee that’s been brewing for decades now.

Of course, that’s not the real point. The real point is that when only 17% of the population of any given nation still at least somewhat believe that there is such a thing as justice and Rule of Law, you’re entering very dangerous waters indeed. History provides us with plenty of examples of that, and G-d knows that we spent way too much time reading books when we were young, time that could have been better spent chasing tail. Then again, we weren’t very good at tail-chasing, in spite of our boyish looks and devastating charm.

The belief that rules matter and that everybody has to follow them is the glue that binds a society together. It is much easier to tolerate injury when you know, deep inside, that the offender will be punished for his transgressions, no matter who he is.

But when you reach the point where you accept as fact that there are two different classes of people, those who get punished if they break the rules (you), and those who never will, regardless of their transgressions, rules very quickly cease to matter very much.

And when you know that the injuries you have suffered will never be punished by the law since your aggressor belongs to a Protected Class, then you’re left with precious little choice but to mete out the punishment yourself if any punishment is to be had at all. Also, if a certain class of the population doesn’t have to follow the rules, then why in the name of all that’s good and holy should you have to?

In the light of that, it’s suddenly quite obvious why the Democrat Socialist regime is and has been so hell-bent on confiscating the people’s means of redressing injustices themselves.

They’re scared shitless, as well they should be. Because winter is coming.

A friend of mine, a Polish immigrant and now an American Citizen (proudly), said a few things about this: that it makes her so sad to see America going this way; that Americans are so sheltered, we don’t realize how bad it can get; and that all her Polish friends vote Republican.

She was a member of Solidarity back when they were battling the Communist dictatorship.

I asked her, “What is it like to live under communism? How did you deal with it?” She looked a little embarrassed, and said, “Well, you just keep your head down, and hope that They don’t notice you — you focus on your own art, or your job, or your family, and try to ignore it all: because what can you do?”

That’s how I’ve been feeling, and the trap hasn’t completely closed. But I’m looking through the gap between the teeth already.

I feel like I’ve lost my country.

The Russians had no problem with lying to their government. But I bitterly resent being pushed into a corner where, in order to have certain kinds of FREEDOM THAT WE USED TO HAVE, you have to LIE.

Orwell pegged that, too: the communists want to break our spirits, not just our bank accounts. And yes, this is a spiritual war we’re engaged in — not against flesh and blood only, but against principalities and powers of darkness.

    Welcome to Obamerica.

It gets easier once you get the hang of it. Just be sure to only say what you know that the totalitarians want to hear when they’re within earshot. It distracts them for long enough that you can drive a shiv in between their ribs. After a few years, it becomes second nature.

I don’t think they are scared. I think their arrogance makes them think they are still somewhat “safe”. It will take a couple of “examples” like a “lois lerner” getting her fucking head blown off by a sniper type before they will understand real fear. And I hope it happens SOON. I want to see these mid-level bureaucrats have a collective “oh shit” moment of clarity.

Hmm. “protected class”.. I wonder who that could be. Let’s see…

    Illegal immigrants
    Movie Star
    Government worker
    Welfare recipient

let’s see who is *not* protected…

Pretty obvious where this country is going.
If the unprotected classes don’t get off their asses and do something, the imbalance will crush them completely.

I wish winter would come faster. There was a time I thought reform was an option for this country, that if we could just elect the right people, things could be fixed.

That’s a fucking pipe dream. Things are going to have to get a LOT worse before they get better. The problems in America aren’t just political and economic in nature anymore, they are cultural.

No more than 6 years. That’s how long I estimate before things go hot. Maybe sooner. Definitely not later. Lots of people have the knowledge to touch off the powder-keg, but they’ve not done it yet.

They keep upping the pressure on those people.
