How About Common Sense Nut Control?

Chairman Ann, now that she’s gotten over her insane infatuation with Chris Krispy Kreme Christie, is back to making sense.

In the wake of yet another Obama-voting insane nutjob hearing voices through the fillings in his teeth committing a massacre, she asks the pertinent question:

Tellingly, throughout the last three decades, the overall homicide rate has been in free fall, thanks to Republican crime policies, from 10 per 100,000 in 1980 to 4 per 100,00 today. (You might even call them “common sense” crime policies.) But the number of mass shootings has skyrocketed from 4 per year, between 1900 and 1970, to 29 per year since then.

Something seems to have gone horribly wrong right around 1970. What could it be? Was it the introduction of bell-bottoms?

That date happens to correlate precisely with when the country began throwing the mentally ill out of institutions in 1969. Your memory of there not being as many mass murders a few decades ago is correct. Your memory of there not being as many homeless people a few decades ago is also correct.

Amazing, isn’t it?

Now we’ll be the first to state that you should be very careful about correlation and causation, but it would seem pretty damn obvious to us that there just might be a problem in letting certified crazies roam the streets at will because keeping them under observation would be a violation of their constitutional right to commit crazy acts of mass murder as a result of their certified craziness. Thanks, ACLU. You really did a good job there.

If it saves ONE paranoid schizophrenic’s self-esteem, then it’s easily worth a hundred Newtowns.

But nobody wants to talk about that. Instead it’s all about how we absolutely have to punish hundreds of millions of NOT certifiably insane Americans for crimes they not only didn’t commit but also wouldn’t ever DREAM of committing because or their being, well, not certifiably and homicidally insane because what, exactly? Think of Teh Childernnnn™? Like the children of Sandy Hook? Oops, never mind.

Let’s face it. The only reason liberal fascists insist on letting psychopaths loose is that they need a body count. They need some blood they can bathe in and masturbate to while turning everybody else into slaves.

Perhaps we should let the psychos loose on the leftists?

Thatisall.

Hoo, boy: have you heard THIS???

Per the local TV station WUSA, the Capitol Police SWAT team that was thirty seconds from the Navy Yard’s front gate was ORDERED TO STAND DOWN by their watch commander while the massacre was in progress, and the Metro PD were begging for help —

Not only that. Tallulah, but the Marine barracks at 8th and I streets was literally “just around the corner”.

I don’t smell a conspiracy so much as I smell sheer incompetence.

Uh, duh! Those 25 million counter-revolutionary racist crackas just aren’t gonna up and kill themselves, you know.

A full read of Coulter’s article is recommended. Other blogs’ Comments are already revealing. How to and who decides who is too gone to be running loose or possess a firearm? The Soviets putting dissidents in mental hospitals, rather than a bullet in Lubyanka? Any vet with a PTSD code # being denied guns? Anyone qualifying for Nappy’s “domestic terrorist”… Read more »

I’m with Greywolf on this one. I’ve worked health care for a long time and now I work for a LEO agency. I’d like to find a way to make sure that the folks who NEED to be hospitalized ARE and the ones who DON’T, AREN’T. As ol’ Wolfie points out: Good luck with that. We’ve got plenty of funds… Read more »

Orion @ #: As ol’ Wolfie points out: Good luck with that. We’ve got plenty of funds for artistic outreach to left handed trans-gendered Inuit performance artists, but not so much for crime labs, firefighters, or mental health… Mental health issues are easily solved – they’re just waiting for budgets to get really tight and then they re-introduce Aktion T4.… Read more »

But the leftists are the psychos, or the psychos are the leftists. Six of one halfdozen of the other.

LC hilljohnny @ #8: In part, yes. The worst of it is that Disco never really died… Evan Sayet made a few interesting observations on the 1970s (find the clips on YouTube), particularly that what is radical and unusual in one decade tends to become mainstream in the next. The radicalism of the 1960s was normative in the 1970s. One… Read more »

Rather than a poster child for more gun control, Alexis looks like a case study of how political correctness — in a gun-free zone — can get people killed. Deadly Combination: Political Correctness in a Gun-Free Zone By Larry Elder Alexis’ troubled background literally screamed: “Red flag! Red flag!” Alexis, a native New Yorker, had been arrested three times from… Read more »

Okay, let’s talk about SSRIs. I’m going to get awfully pedantic here, but bear with me. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been on the market since 1987, with fluoxetine (Prozac) being the prototype drug of the class. Billions of doses of the SSRIs have been administered, making them among the most widely prescribed drugs in the pharmacolgic armamentarium. Apart… Read more »

But sure, ever since our government decided to start privatizing much of its functions, the level of incompetence has risen. Curious. We’re told that government exists to do the things that the private sector can’t. If it’s a “legitimate function of government,” how can it be private? Government tends subsume more and more “functions” to the point of blatant inefficiency… Read more »

Ann Coulter is dead to me. She spent to much time wringing her panties out after lusting for one too many prog-rinos to ever have one shred of credibility. She can drag her skin’n bones ass off into a corner with Peggy “Sucks-Juggears-Dick” Noonan and crumble to ashes like the mewling harridan she is.

Fuck her.

ah, I know, you want to blame Nagin et al, but that would make you extremely short-sighted (which is typical of people on the Right) The whole purpose of FEMA is to be able to communicate and coordinate with the local governments and make sure that everyone is on the same sheet of music. In the case of Katrina, there… Read more »

LC Moriarty, Imperial Goatherd says: Close, short-term follow up, a thorough history and careful exam and titration or discontinuance based on patient response is the next step. The Imperial Contradictor:

But no. Some Libertarian idiotsticks think it is a quaint idea for the private sector to do these jobs because “they can do it cheaper”. The reality is that We the Taxpayer, end up paying FAR more in the long run.

Because the US Gov’t is just full of those bloody Libertarians! :em04:
