Starbucks to 80 million Americans – we don’t want you.

Can’t say as I ever really cared much for Starbucks swill – in a pinch – groggy after a extended shift and desperate for caffeine maybe, but – Caribou is my coffee of choice.

Well, now…I guess I will just choke down a Red Bull or can of Coke or something if I need a pick me up from now on and my favorite Caribou’s is not around…..

Starbucks CEO Howard Scultz  to gun owners – “we don’t want you”.

Dear Fellow Americans,

Few topics in America generate a more polarized and emotional debate than guns. In recent months, Starbucks stores and our partners (employees) who work in our stores have been thrust unwillingly into the middle of this debate. That’s why I am writing today with a respectful request that customers no longer bring firearms into our stores or outdoor seating areas.

You don’t say Howie – 80 Million of your potential customers ….you just told pretty much “fuck off”. Let me know how that works out next Quarterly Earning report pal m-kay?

Polarized and Emotional is it? I never get emotional about guns Howie, never. Nor does any well trained gun owner that I know – unless it’s to smile with glee when putting a nice tight grouping on a piece of paper that beats your last attempt by a country mile. No Howie… Its the GFW crowd that gets all weak kneed and weepy at the mere site of a weapon – and with your little missive – you can sugar coat it all you want and couch it in all the buzz-word catch phrases you can…you just told me I’m no longer welcome. Got it.

And I respectfully have to decline your request Howie, you see my civil rights are not a mater of debate – as a matter of fact, it’s so NOT a matter open for debate that I just put a goodly chunk of hard earned scratch towards a political candidate -  the one running against the RINO Alexander Lamar from TN  for making that same erroneous choice – thinking my right to keep and bear arms was a “matter that should be open for debate”.  It’s not. It never will be. Not ever.

From the beginning, our vision at Starbucks has been to create a “third place” between home and work where people can come together to enjoy the peace and pleasure of coffee and community. Our values have always centered on building community rather than dividing people, and our stores exist to give every customer a safe and comfortable respite from the concerns of daily life.

Every customer with the exception of those who believe in the US Constitution and specifically the 2nd Amendment ….then – not so much….right Howie?

How’s this for an idea Howie . take your “community building” and take a hike … and oh if you would;  take the Sasquatch fucking Kenyan with you …. and your community building latte sipping busybody whiny customers  too.

And oh, BTW?  You just declared your stores a free fire zone for the likes of Aaron Alexis … good luck with that.

We appreciate that there is a highly sensitive balance of rights and responsibilities surrounding America’s gun laws, and we recognize the deep passion for and against the “open carry” laws adopted by many states. (In the United States, “open carry” is the term used for openly carrying a firearm in public.) For years we have listened carefully to input from our customers, partners, community leaders and voices on both sides of this complicated, highly charged issue. And we decided that wild eye bitter clinging gun toting citizens just don’t fit in with our oh so hip version of Utopia of next Tuesday…

Fixed it for you – No charge. Because isn’t that what you are trying to say here Howie? Really?

You took a side – the wrong one, and trust me – people vote with their wallets Howie…and the only fitting end for your already struggling bastion of asshatery called “Starbucks” is to watch it fold; slowly, painfully, and with much agony into Chapter 11. Hey maybe your Klingon fucking buddy from Kenya will deem you “too big to fail” and bail your worthless business out at the expense of the taxpayers…. hope springs eternal and all that. The flip side of that is … Karma is truly a bitch.

Our company’s longstanding approach to “open carry” has been to follow local laws: we permit it in states where allowed and we prohibit it in states where these laws don’t exist.

You permit it because otherwise – you’d get the living snot sued out of you. Let’s not be coy here Howie, if you could shoot every gun carrying patron that walks through your doors…you’d do it. With Glee. But that’s why you made it a ‘request’ …isn’t it?  Because you know in states where open carry is the law, you ain’t got a fucking snow balls chance in hell of stopping people from exercising their Constitutionally guaranteed rights.

We have chosen this approach because we believe our store partners should not be put in the uncomfortable position of requiring customers to disarm or leave our stores. We believe that gun policy should be addressed by government and law enforcement—not by Starbucks and our store partners.

Uh huh, sure Howie…..And so when someone “respectfully” tells you to cram your gun grabbing agenda  up your ass Howie…and walks in with a Glock strapped to his or her hip…then what? Fucking liberals, I swear…. you people never can make a coherent argument. Grow a set of balls Howie, for the love of the man Jesus!!

Just say it – “Starbucks is a gun free zone – we forbid firearms on any of our premises”. Then, I’d call a lawyer – you’re probably going to need one. See – easy? But no, you want to play both ends against the middle, and you know what?  That pisses me off even more.

Not that I even like your overpriced vomit in a leaky cup that you brazenly call “coffee” I don’t; but if I did, as a Gun owner, if you had the balls to say right out you don’t want guns on your property, guess what, I’ll probably still not frequent the place just on principle… but I might have said, “well it’s their property their rules, it’s my choice to frequent it or not”.  But you can rest assured now…I won’t so much set foot in your stores not to buy coffee, not even to piss on the floor.

You see, trying to do the whole “pragmatic” thing Howie? It’s a bad business idea and business model…always has been – always will be. Most people appreciate being dealt with in a straight forward manner – it saves time. You’re not dealing with us gun owners in that manner – you’re flipping and flapping  around like blown tire. I for one resent it. I’m not good enough to be trusted with a gun in your stores, but you still want me to spend money there?? Cake and eat it too is it?  No, sorry Howie…. It just doesn’t work that way.

Recently, however, we’ve seen the “open carry” debate become increasingly uncivil and, in some cases, even threatening.

And I’m just SURE it’s the gun owners acting like irresponsible little brats, after all, it was our candidate that was out there telling people that “I want you to get in other peoples faces”…right Howie? It’s all those gun toting bitter clingers out there screaming like a bunch of little bitches about “social justice” and “racism” at every fucking dust bunny that happens by…. isn’t it Howie?

How this for “uncivil” Howie…fuck you. And fuck Starbucks. And  Fuck your whiny customers that you took sides with …the ones that can’t deal with the site of a firearm with out pissing in their pants and screaming for their binkies.

Howie’s little missive blathers on for a bit longer, go read it it if you wish, I’m out of patience with the asshattery …..

But before I go -  Howie? I hope your business takes a header…and when it does, I hope you follow it right off the fucking cliff into oblivion you patronizing anti-American pansy ass  prick.

There is also another little issue that these companies aren’t considering. Suppose, for the sake of argument, all the gun owners who had been going in take their business elsewhere?

Then, some nutjob comes in and blows away 10 or 20 customers and staff?

Not only will Starbucks be civilly liable, there is the potential of criminal liability.

They will have ordered out anyone who was capable of protecting the premises and they didn’t bring in their own security. Now, because you forced out law abiding gun owners and didn’t secure the premises, people are dead. You are responsible.

What would the charge be? 2nd degree murder? Aiding and abetting? Depraved indifference to human life?

Time to put a CEO and all the ones who came up with this asinine decision in jail for a million years I think.

Wal-Mart lost a major lawsuit on exactly that point, Angrywebmaster. They reversed their position about 15 seconds after signing the check.

And I stopped patronizing Starbucks after 9/11 when they were charging firefighters and police exorbitant prices for water.

Starbucks just continues to dig themselves deeper. At their last annual meeting the CEO disparaged Christian stockholders. So, apparently Starbucks doesn’t want gun owners (many, if not most, of whom are Christian) or Christians as stockholders or customers.
On a brighter note, Starbucks built a store here in my town. The place lasted about a year before it went out of business. I personally bought precisely zero of their over-priced cups of coffee. I have no idea if it was swill or really coffee. But, from all the comments I’ve read in both print and blogs, I didn’t miss much of anything.
Hey, Howie? When McDonald’s coffee beats yours in a blind taste test, you got problems.

The way I saw this presented this morning was that Starbucks was “asking” its customers to refrain from carrying firearms into the stores but not “prohibiting”. My response to such a request is to respectfully ask the requesting party to kiss my lily white arse.

The reality of it (for me) is that this is moot. Not only can I not afford a 4 dollar cup of coffee, but if were able to afford a 4 dollar cup of coffee I damn sure wouldn’t be buying Starbucks.

I did enjoy screwing with the whatever they call themselves, but what we call clerks, heads.

My order, the 2-3 times someone else paid for it went.

Large coffee, regular, black, no sugar.

The droid behind the counter would look at me blankly and then rattle of some prattle about Venti, veni with a spritz of goo.

I would lean forward, stare into their eyes with the most malevolent look I could generate and repeat my order.
    :em05:
They would figure it out eventually, then I took the reheated horse piss they claimed was coffee and try and drink it.

For these reasons, today we are respectfully requesting that customers no longer bring firearms into our stores or outdoor seating areas—even in states where “open carry” is permitted—unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel.

Well then. They could have remained silent other than to continue to state they would follow the laws in their places of business, and not offended anyone.

Alternatively, they could also have come out not with a request, but a policy prohibiting firearms or weapons in their places of business, again following the laws and regulations about clear signage to alert people of same.

Either would have been better than this mealy mouthed request.

Revelation 3:15 comes to mind: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

Mheh. I don’t honestly know what to think about this. Primarily because you wouldn’t catch me dead paying four bucks for a 10 cent cup of coffee that doesn’t even taste near as good as what I can brew at home before I leave for work. So it’s not like they’ll be losing any of my business since they didn’t have any of it to begin with.

On the other hand, I know what “we don’t like your kind here” sounds like and my reaction to that is the same as every other right-thinking individual. I don’t take kindly to it.

I respect the wish, I am a civil, law-abiding citizen brought up to respect the wishes of the people on whose property I find myself, I just don’t particularly care for being treated that way with no better reason than “we don’t like your kind.” It’s different with friends, neighbors, acquaintances who might say “we just don’t like firearms in our house because [insert whatever]“, that’s not going to get me up in arms (pun not intended) and terminate a friendship. But, of course, the hipster leftist-catering sellers of pig piss that is Starbucks weren’t my friends to begin with, so who gives a shit? I know I don’t. I’ll continue not buying their crap.

And don’t get me wrong here. Howie can “respectfully request” all he wants. Unless he puts up a sign of dimensions clearly defined by law at all points of entry, his “request” doesn’t amount to shit, legally, in the state of Texas. So I COULD just say “fuck off” and walk in carrying a fucking arsenal and there’d be fuck all he could do about it. Unless one of his employees walked up and asked me to leave, at which point I’d be obliged to do so and would without question.

I just don’t have a dog in that hunt since I don’t need to patronize his business in the first place and have no desire to either, so it won’t happen.

Howie’s reasoning behind it, on the other hand, I have to say that I agree with at least to a degree. His company is a chain of coffee shops and their business is to sell coffee. It is NOT to be a battleground. And I know that the “Starbucks Appreciation Day” was intended as an “attaboy” from gun owners like myself who are getting sick and tired of people bowing and scraping before the leftist swine in this nation. But that sort of appreciation could also have been expressed via email, phone calls or old-fashioned mail. What good, law-abiding citizens intended to be a huge pat on the back to somebody not being a drooling serf ended up becoming a huge corporate headache to a company which, let’s be honest here, mainly makes their money catering to leftist swine hipsters anyways, so on a cost-benefit analysis, they really didn’t stand to lose much by opting out of that particular fight.

I understand that. I even respect it.

I do NOT respect their lack of spine, and I do NOT respect Howie’s inability to just come out and say it as it is: “Listen, gun owners, you’re not our target demographic, so we’ve decided to cut our losses by alienating you in order to preserve the business of those who ARE, because we don’t really like going bankrupt.”

They have mortgages too, you know.

And they’re right. Just how many heartland, gun owning, conservative patriots really DO buy swill at Starbucks? Compared to the useless, welfare-leeching ne’erdowells with degrees in comparative Nigerian folk dancing Raging Against the Machine on their iPads while slurping overpriced grande venti magnifico latte soyo goato-pissos?

So sure, Howie. You’d like to ask, “respectfully”, that I leave my guns at home when visiting your establishment. I will. Right along with my wallet. Except I wouldn’t visit your establishment in the first place, so you’re not really losing anything, are you? I get that. Best of luck with running your business once the economy collapses and your hipster clientele’s EBT cards run empty.

    And fuck you too.

Cordially, of course. Because we’re respectful.

    He told me:

Son, remember that marriage is a 90/10 proposition. You give 90% and your wife will take the remaining 10%. As long as you remember this, you will have a long happy marriage.

Funny thing about that. When he said it, my wife, my sister and my sister inlaw were all nodding in agreement. My mother said:

We did this to them. They did not do this to us.

They were never our friends, but they were not our enemies, either. That’s the most we can usually ask for especially given that S-Bucks is a pretty lib company for the most part. But in this instance they did what we wanted them to do and stayed neutral.

Instead of saying “thank you” and going about our business like normal folks, we turned them into ground zero.

Yes, “they” meaning the antis, did it too. But we’re not trying to convince the antis. We’re trying to convince the fence sitters.

The whole point of OC is to let the citizenry see us going about our daily business, just like them, only with a sidearm. We’re trying to convince them that we’re normal people, just like them, not a pack of rabid howler monkeys waving our evil black rifles around looking for something to fill full of lead. So when this opportunity arose…we muffed it. We went out and scared the white folks.

Look at the picture in this article. See the woman behind the laptop in the background? Does she look amused?

She was the one we were trying to reach. And we failed by acting like a pack of assholes.

And now some of us are STILL going to act like a pack of assholes cause IT’S MY RIGHT!!! RKBA!!! (RINO!)

Yes it is. And it is the right of Starbucks, and other businesses up and down the street, to post their property. And this is just how it ends if we don’t learn to behave ourselves.

Just because you CAN do something doesn’t necessarily follow that you should.

(and FWIW…they aren’t going to throw you out or kick up a fuss just yet for carrying. All they want to do is sell coffee and not be the focal point for the debate. Concealed means concealed and in NC as long as it’s not posted you can carry. So take that as you will.
