Welcome to the Rustbelt – Enjoy your stay.

As a former denizen of the RustBelt I’d like to extend a hearty “Hi-ho Neighbor!” To Accokeek MD, Accokeek MD is The latest and greatest ProgNazi addition to the infamous “RustBelt”

Welcome to the suck folks!!

Wait a minute – the Rust Belt is places like  MI, OH, & PA isn’t it? Isn’t that where all the steel and cars and shit like that used to be made? You’d be right except for one little point – it’s spreading. Again, thanks to the Liberal Democrats and the fools that love to vote for them.

Beretta Arms announced April 4th that they will leave the State of MD.

MD, like the above mentioned states is a reliable true ‘blue’ state, and very much like the ones listed above it is a Democrat Stronghold and has been for years.

How much of a strong hold? Take a look at the make up of the State and Federal representatives of MD and judge for yourself:

Maryland State House of Delegates:

  • Democrats = 98
  • Republicans  = 43

Maryland State Senate:

  • Democrats = 44
  • Republicans = 13

Maryland Governor –  Democrat

Maryland Representative to US Congress / Senate – 2, Both Democrats

Maryland Representative to US Congress/ House – 8, 7 Democrats – 1 Republican

See a pattern here? Just like Ohio and MI and others – it’s been that way for decades.

And just like in every single one of the Rust Belt States mentioned above, MD’s Democrat politicians have turned around and bit the very hand that feeds them. Like OH, MI, and PA the Donks in MD simply have legislated lucrative  business and the decent paying jobs that went with them –  right the fuck out of the state.

In OH it was that ever reliable Democrat vote that ended the Steel Industry. Democrats backed EPA regulations, ridiculous Union demands, and easing regulations on imported steel and products until finally in 1979 (roughly), it brought the entire region known as the “Steel Valley” to it’s economic knees. It, 33 years later has still not recovered. Despite the economic waste land the Democrats created in the rust belt..Sadly OH, my birthplace – and places like MI  are still voting Democrat – I guess  you can’t fix stupid.

While the Tax hungry Democrats are MORE than willing to suck up every tax dollar they can from manufacturing entities such as Beretta, they are insistent that the products they make are just too dang scary – they must be banned! In a cosmic case of “cluefucked beyond repair” MD Passed Anti-2nd Amendment laws recently that outlaws the very products made by Beretta in MD. Beretta’s answer – “Fuck you – Buh-Bye…. We’ll move someplace where at least the worker making our product can actually buy it with his hard earned monies”.

How much of an impact will this have in Accokeek? Just based on Census figures alone – Accokeek MD as of 2010 had a population of just over 10,000 people. 400 of them are loosing their jobs, 0r just shy of 4% of the population. The Steel Valley was worse – obviously – as if memory serves there was a loss of some nearly 30,000 jobs during the Steel Industry Meltdown with a population of just around 120,000. (As a foot note – that area has had a net population decline since 1960 of a staggering – 60 PERCENT).

Economic impact on a State level? Income revenue i.e. taxes in MD – just took a 31,000,000.00 dollar hit. You read that right… 31 MILLION Dollars in taxes has left the building.

Beretta paid approximately $31 million in taxes, employs 400 people, and had invested $73 million in the business over the past several decades. Despite being such a prominent player in the local economy, Beretta was unable to prevent legislators from passing tighter gun control laws. Ironically, Beretta manufactures some firearms that are now banned in Maryland.

That is just taxes Beretta paid to the State of MD in ONE year. It doesn’t account for all the Tax Revenue that will be lost via Income Taxes, Taxes collected on secondary businesses that dealt with Beretta, and the jobs lost there as well.

I’ll lay odds the in the next 12 months – the Democrats in Annapolis push to increase taxes on the “rich”. Anyone Wanna make that bet?

Oh, but it get’s even better. As we all know we have enough empirical evidence to choke a donkey (or a DemoProgNazi as the case may be) with the simple fact that – Those ProgNazi Utopian wonderlands with the strictest Anti- 2nd Amendment rights laws on the books seem to have a direct correlation to – abnormally high Crime Rates.

D.C., Chicago, LA, NYC, Detroit, and on and on the list goes, but  golly gee, guess what other city makes the hall of shame for ‘most fucking dangerous place in America ?

If you guessed “Baltimore”. Pat yourself on the back. That distinction was earned even BEFORE the MD ProgNazi’s passed yet more Freedom destroying Anti Civil Rights laws this past 3 months. Need proof?

With a crime rate of 64 per one thousand residents, Baltimore has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes – from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One’s chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 16. Link

1 in 16, and they just stripped MD resident’s of even more rights to keep and bear arms and the ability to defend themselves from the criminals. In what fucking world does this make sense?

Now – Would someone – anyone – PLEASE tell me, who the fuck are these fools so in love with the Democratic Party? How many times does it have to be proven that the Democrats are not for the “middle class”, They are not for the “little guy”, they are not for the “workers”,  and they don’t give a fuck about anything but being the Nazi Socialist Jackbooted shit weasel thugs they always turn out to be when they are in office?? Jesus wept!!

Fuck it – Make the Baby Jesus Smile – Punch a fucking Democrat in the face. Today.

The Company I work for is based in Baltimore. The acquired the company I originally worked for a couple of years ago. Recently, my manager asked me if I wold relocate to Baltimore. I said no and that to do so would bankrupt me. (I didn’t mention the fact I wouldn’t be able to bring some personal items near and dear to me)

Since my job doesn’t require my physical presence, I work remotely from the still free state of New Hampshire. We have a couple of companies up here that aren’t planning on leaving. Ruger and Sig Sauer. In fact, they are expanding.
I did my part for the bottom line of Sig. I bought a 1911 C3 a few weeks ago.
I also just bought 200 rounds for it yesterday. With that and other items, I will soon not be compliant with California’s latest anti-freedom laws.

Maryland, the state of my birth, is a classic example of the prog-nazi system. Baltimore and more importantly, the suburbs of DC are the strongholds of the left. Baltimore is where they hold out their hands for more money and the DC bedroom communities are where the true believers reside. Google Montgomery County. It gained notoriety awhile back over ridiculous anti-smoking legislation for starters and rapidly went down the sewer from there, in the race to see what place can run the farthest left the fastest.

Western Maryland where I grew up is very conservative (my grandfather was deeply involved in politics), but the welfare ho’s and proggies that live in Md and work inside the beltway have full control over the system.

Just like locusts, the left proceeds to destroy it’s surroundings as it spreads like a virus. DC became too expensive for them, so they moved across the river to Maryland and set-up their Utopia Of Next-Tuesday™ there. Once their blight wipes that area out and they price themselves out of the game again, they’ll move farther out and do it all over again.

They can’t help themselves, being only strands of RNA they’re incapable of adaptation.

I used to travel to Germany about once a year when I worked for a contractor for the DoD….usually headed to Grafenwohr to watch tanks and artillery. I was there in 1990 when Germany reunited and the border to Czechoslovakia opened up. We took a day trip across that border and it was like crossing from a color movie (Germany) to a black and white one (Czechoslovakia). The place was run down and completely wasted, poverty….dirty cities…..grey and dreary. The result of 50 years of socialism.

I’m beginning to see the same in our cities that have entrenched democRat bureaucracies ruling them. Detroit is the poster child for socialism here, many many other places are running a close second. But, an enslaved population….dependant on the government for their sustenance and obama phones will never see it….they’ve been indoctrinated to see the people on the hill in the big clean houses as the oppressor, not the government man who doles out their bare monthly subsistence.

Um….can this dumb Aussie ask whats meant by the RustBelt

Rustbelt refers to the areas in the United States that had heavy manufacturing and steel production. When all the plants and mills closed, they just sat there and rusted. Since these plants tended to be in a cluster or belt, the nickname “Rustbelt” came into being referring to areas that had lost their heavy industry.

To elaborate on angrywebmaster’s reply, the rustbelt is generally considered to be Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and western or upstate New York.
This geographic description isn’t precise or all encompassing though, as there was once heavy manufacturing that the progs killed in other areas.

MD Strikes me as being in competition with CA to see who can come up with the most crazy the fastest. Spent weeks in Annapolis back in the day taking out the Y Boats from the Academy and practicing precision radar navigating on them, Fun times, and the academy and Annapolis is a beautiful place to visit. Even it is filled with prospective ring knocking assholes.. :em07:

    LCBrendan @ #:5

The ‘Rustbelt” is also alluded to in Obama’s “Bitter Clinging” remarks as well when he said :

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations”.

He’s off by about 8 years or so, it’s been about 33 years since the Steel Industries imploded. But hey Mr. “57 States” ain’t ever struck me as exactly having a good head for numbers… U.S. Steel, Bethlehem Steel, Youngstown Sheet and Tube – all either pulled the plug or if they are still producing anything it is a fraction of a percent of what they used to. That was in one place. I am not as familiar with how bad it hit Pittsburgh and places like Gary Indiana and others.

Are We Being Compromised by Barack Obama’s Murky Past?
    By James A. Lyons

Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called “birther” challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data — all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

The public’s right to know is but a minor consideration. Our overriding concern should be what unfriendly foreign intelligence adversaries, particularly Russian, may have obtained on our president’s background.

Among all the foreign intelligence agencies, Russian intelligence (SVR) has a long history and has made a science of studying the backgrounds of American presidents. Therefore, we must assume that since Russian intelligence is particularly skilled and a persistent practitioner of this art, it is possible to the point of certainty that, using all their resources and “black-bag” tactics, they have long had the biographical background data that President Obama and his team of lawyers have been so diligent in concealing from the American public.

The Russians most likely would have started collecting data during Obama’s university years, when he professed radical Marxist views. They were certainly focusing on him by the time of his celebrated speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

By that time, Russian intelligence had easy access to the true facts concerning Obama’s birth, parentage, and childhood; his mentor (communist Frank Marshall Davis); and his college performance, as well as who provided his finances. They also would have obtained the information on his passport history and his complete political career and associates.

It is recognized that among all the intelligence agencies, Russian intelligence is the most skillful in looking for information and points of leverage — which are then exploited cleverly and “gently” by Russian statecraft.

By now, the Russians have most likely have told Obama discreetly that they have such information. How would they use it? As one old Soviet KGB operator said, “Kompromat [compromising information] is the most powerful tool of espionage.”

Following this thought process, take the issue of how strongly the Russians objected to our ballistic missile defense (BMD) plans for NATO Europe to defend against an Iranian nuclear missile threat. Now ponder why President Obama told Russian President Medvedev in the fall of 2012 that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with the BMD issue in his second term which he has now basically canceled. Coincidence?

The current world situation is presenting many complicating challenges to current and future U.S. objectives. With the Obama administration presiding over the hollowing out of our military forces and prepared to further weaken our strategic nuclear posture, our adversaries are being emboldened to challenge us in a number of areas. The Middle East is in a continued state of turmoil, with no end in sight. Iran continues to ignore U.N. sanctions and proceeds with its drive to achieve nuclear weapon capability. It dismisses the possibility of a U.S. military strike.

In the Pacific, we have to deal with an erratic, unpredictable nuclear-armed North Korea, who has been making outrageous threats to the U.S. and our allies. China continues flexing its military muscle, trying to enforce its illegal claims in the South and East China Seas. Closer to home, according to Ambassador Roger Noriega, we have an operational Iranian missile base in Venezuela which can threaten a number of our cities. We also are witnessing Russia reviving Soviet Cold war tactics in areas of our strategic interest. Clearly, we are headed into an exceptionally crucial and dangerous round of geo-strategic confrontations which could have a profound impact on our future objectives and way of life.

These challenges cannot be ignored. We are led by a man who does not believe in American exceptionalism or our capitalist foundation. His lead-from-behind strategy has forfeited the initiative to our adversaries. Under such circumstances, we cannot afford to be in a position where our leadership is subject to compromise.

James A. Lyons, U.S. Navy retired Admiral, was commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and senior U.S. military representative to the United Nations

    Retired Spook growls and barks:

Ya know, the steel industry used to be in the northern states, but anymore it’s in the South, especially Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and North and South Carolina. I happen to work for one of the biggest steel makers in the world ( and free from union restrictions) and it’s kinda funny, because if I worked at US Steel, I’d be making about half as much to do the same job. And most of our customers are “foreign” car makers, who can’t get the quality they need from union steel mills. Oh, and by the way, these “foreign” car makers are also non-union. Does anyone see a pattern here? Democrats + labor unions = Rustbelt.

When I worked in a union shop in Omaha, whenever my boss asked “what do you need?” I’d tell him “more money, shorter hours, and a better class of people to hang out with.” I think I’ve found it.
