NIMBY

Not.In.My.Back.Yard.

Ahhhh the ‘Green’ cadres strike again.

This article on Fox details a fight in the progressive utopia of Cape Cod.

And before I get accused of painting with an overly broad brush, because after all  “NOT, all of the fair people of Cape Cod can be DNC trained seals!! “ let me say – Bullshit. I’ve been there. I’ve lived in NE and spent much time in the frozen wastelands of MA, ME, RI etc – My in-laws are from the Boston area, thankfully their daughter quit drinking the kool-aid years ago, or we’d certainly probably not be married, but all the same -  They, the fair people progressives of Cape Cod got the very government that they voted for, so spare me any outrage here. They the voters of MA and other Utopian Paradises  hellholes in the NE region own this.

So with out further ado – lets look a little closer at this banging of sippy cups in Cape Cod shall we?

Two wind turbines towering above the Cape Cod community of Falmouth, Mass., were intended to produce green energy and savings — but they’ve created angst and division, and may now be removed at a high cost as neighbors complain of noise and illness.

Angst? Ya don’t say? Skittle colored Unicorn Farts and Rainbows – it never fails. Or maybe not.

“It gets to be jet-engine loud,” said Falmouth resident Neil Andersen. He and his wife Betsy live just a quarter mile from one of the turbines. They say the impact on their health has been devastating. They’re suffering headaches, dizziness and sleep deprivation and often seek to escape the property where they’ve lived for more than 20 years.

Hopefully she’s not named after Betsy Ross – that would be the true tragedy here.

“Every time the blade has a downward motion it gives off a tremendous energy, gives off a pulse,” said Andersen. “And that pulse, it gets into your tubular organs, chest cavity, mimics a heartbeat, gives you headaches. It’s extremely disturbing and it gets to the point where you have to leave.”

After consulting with the Imperial Star Destroyer’s Engineering Staff – I’ve been assured that it is fact A-Okay to leave – after all, In Space no-one can hear you scream. And we do grow oh so tired of hearing you whine. Watch that first step it’s a killer. Otherwise ? Sucks to be you dude.

The first turbine went up in 2010 and by the time both were in place on the industrial site of the town’s water treatment facility, the price was $10 million.

Stinky and noisy – great planing by the city there, 10,000,000 Greenbacks – Neil,  How’s that property tax bill looking I wonder? Not so hot I bet.

Town officials Your whip and chain wielding overlords say taking them down will cost an estimated $5 million to $15 million, but that is just what Falmouth’s five selectmen have decided to move toward doing.

More tax dollars pissed away at the alter of “Green”….Pay up Suka’s !! Nary a mention if the town’s select-weasels are related to both the construction crews and the eventual demolition crews. But would you be surprised?

“We think it’s the right thing to do, absolutely,” Selectman David Braga said. “You can’t put a monetary value on people’s health and that’s what’s happened here. A lot of people are sick because of these.”

Why not David? You put a dollar sign on every other fucking aspect of their lives? Property – Cars – Water – Food – Telephone – Local Fuel Tax, need I go on? Surly there must be a way to put a value on a person’s health….oh wait you did… See also; ObamaCare.

“It’s highly likely that what the voters will be determining is are they willing to tax themselves at an appropriate amount to cover the cost and dismantle and shut down the turbines?”

Sadly it’s also highly unlikely that your worthless ass will not be found hanging from a street lamp adorned in the latest fashion for petty tyrants – Tar and Feathers with a wind turbine jammed down your gullet. But a guy can hope.

As the selectmen respond to the concerns of nearby neighbors. The turbines only run during the day — from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — which means they’re operating at a loss.

Tax payer funded loss – let’s be concise here.

The dispute has been a bitter three-year battle in the seaside town where officials argue the project was thoroughly vetted, researched and put to public vote multiple times.

Vetted you say? Ted the swimmer Kennedy is unavailable for comment – he’s dead. But he put the Teddy Smackdown Kabash on this bird blender  in his back yard – why didn’t you? After all he was the “Lion of the US Senate” – you’re following local jackals when you could be listening to the Mighty Lion?!?… silly people.

“To say ‘let’s let the voters decide’ — it sort of flies in the face of what we went through all these years,” said Megan Amsler of the Falmouth Energy Committee.

My my Megan that new look certainly does become you ! What is that Nazi black ? And those Deathskull emblems OMG – To simply DIE for darh’ling. You MUST tell me – where ever did you find those darling JackBoots?!?

. “People don’t even know how much energy they consume on a yearly basis so I think it’s good for people to be able to see where their energy comes from and know that it’s coming from a clean source.”

Shut up you fucking peasants! I’m the Energy Committee ! I  said it’s safe and I am the Walrus!! Behold the Clean!!

I think if we end up taking these turbines down it will be a shame. It will be an embarrassment for the Town of Falmouth,” said Amsler.

Head pounding? Can’t stand the jet engine roar? Tourism dollars disappearing faster than the money in a sailors pocket in a drunken stupor?

Tough – deal with it you dirty peasant, because G-d forbid we’d admit to our glaring ability for  complete and utter asshattery and actually admit we’re on the verge of pissing away 20 plus MILLION dollars of tax payers funds on a wet dream about Unicorns Farts. THAT would be simply….Embarrassing!

Town leaders say the state bears some monetary responsibility for the situation because Falmouth was granted renewable energy credits and received advice from state level energy officials through an ongoing partnership.

Not content to suck the people of Falmouth MA dry – the City Council   The Blood sucking leeches and  Vampires look to expand their hunting grounds to the rest of MA. And America.

“I feel the state is responsible because they were really pushing for more wind power which, believe me, the whole board of selectmen are supportive of renewable energy. I am. Maybe wind, but not in this location,” said Braga.

N.I.M.B.Y – It’s not my fault – I voz only fowllin de orderz of de supreme Globull Worming Expert Al the Gorelacle !!

Ultimately, town leaders are hoping the controversy will be resolved and the community will find a way to move forward together.

How Obama-esq.  FORWARD ! No – NO -no DAMN IT! In lockstep you peons! Where the hell’s a Marine to call cadence when you need one – probably out blowing up shit and killing all the brown people no doubt….Crunchy!!!  Call your office damn it!

It’s imperative to the community that we do have a coming together and a healing and find a resolution one way or the other,” said Suso.

Fweeeeings nutin’ but fweeeeeings.  Heal my brothers and sisters, So sayeth the Over-L-Rd Suso!! It’s imperative that we convince you to  pay no mind to the fact we just sucked 20 million plus dollars of tax payer money out of your wallets and set it ablaze at the Grreeeeeen Energy Alter.

Lest you dirty serfs figure out our Green Snake Oil scam we just fucked you with. Hard. Sans a reach around and lube at that.

Thanks – Care for a Cigarette?

i live in r.i. where our governor is called the missing link because he is a dumb ass socialist in a state full of dumb asses.portsmouth put up a wind mill which promptly shit the bed because it blew a transmission, a new tranny cost about $400,000 plus the cost of installation which is another $200,000 so this green wonder sits idle.none of this so called green energy is cost effective not wind mills not solar or biofuels.the ethanol mandate is burning your food which is never a good idea because it drives the cost of food up besides that ethanol is a crappy fuel while coal oil is far superior to booze.when my wife retires we will move to our home in red central maine where every one hates bongo but love guns.

Well I prefer to see the windmills fall over. Kind of hard to do when you splatter yourself all over them. :em07:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but was this not the very scenario that Styx was addressing when they famously sang:

“Come fail away! Come fail away! Come fail way with me, lad!”

Then again, I may be misinformed.

Not that I’m in favor of subsidizing, per se – but …

I personally had a solar power plant installed in my house. When I say plant I mean : 12 Solar power cells (3Kw system), with a battery bank (the sun does tend to not shine 24/7), and a generator. Since I live in Alaska, we have to take into consideration that during “High Winter” I get 3+ hours of sunlight per day. WIth that said, I can use my generator to power the battery bank. That way I get a sliver of electricty from my panels, I don’t have to run my generator for 24 hours a day (and burn a ton of gas) – I run it 3 hours every other day – and, barring my stove, washer & dryer, and dish washer I am energy independent.

I used to live in Mass (Natick, specifically) and solar – personal household solar plants – are definately a way to go.

Get to my original intent (sorry for meandering) – if the residents voted on it, I would agree (as a taxpayer in THAT TOWN) that the town offer, say, a 30% rebate on any solar power plant that got installed in a private home.

Again, I am SO not wanting the feds to do this – because I’ve shared this idea and it’s rife with opportunities for abuse – but in a town by town basis, if the voters were to approve it – sure.

BTW – in case anyone was interested, my system cost $23k for the 12 panels, 2 day supply of electricty batteries, and generator – oh, and installation.

To me, considering I truly believe we are heading for an economic collapse, barring common sense breatking out, I want to have an independent source of energy. With that I have drinking water, lights, appliances, and can recharge items with recharable batteries.

Sorry if I am off topic – hope I added to the discussion.

As Republican leaders like House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama get set to meet on Friday, the day the sequester is set to go into effect, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin blasted Congress for another “ginned-up” crisis and not focusing on America’s real problem–the debt.

Palin said if Americans cannot “stomach modest cuts that would lower federal spending by a mere 0.3% per year out of a current federal budget of $3.6 trillion, then we might as well signal to the whole world that we have no serious intention of dealing with our debt problem.”

“If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done,” Palin wrote on Tuesday. “Put a fork in us. We’re finished.”

Palin wrote Americans are “sick and tired” of another “ginned-up” crisis and D.C. “needs to grow up, get to work, and live within its means.”

“The real economic Armageddon looming before us is our runaway debt, not the sequester, which the President advocated for and signed into law and is now running around denouncing because he never had any genuine intention of reining in his reckless spending,” Palin said.

She noted that since the sequester passed, Obama has already “hit American families and small business owners with his tax increases, or ‘more revenue’ as he likes to call it.”

“The American public doesn’t want tax increases; we want government to rein in its overspending,” Palin wrote.”

Palin wrote that if D.C. politicians were “serious about putting our fiscal house in order,” then they would stop with the manufactured crises.

“Let’s stop the hysterics, tighten our belts, and take our medicine,” she wrote.
