Coffee and Guns
Enjoying my day off by planning to go to work for a few hours of overtime LOL. Sipping coffee and exercising my 2nd Amendment rights by purchasing a shotgun online. No, it’s not an “anonymous Internet purchase”, the gun will be shipped to the licensed dealer of my choice for pickup, as required by law.
Of course, it would be simpler if I could do it the way the Liberal gun-grabbers THINK it’s done…and the way it should be done. What part of “shall not be infringed” is so hard to understand?
We don’t need new gun control laws, we have very effective laws in place. Of course, “Fast and Furious” demonstrated that they don’t apply to our own Government.
Welcome to your weekend Open Thread™!

Control, control, control. It’s not about the guns, never has been. It’s just control. These fucks get some kind of high off of telling other people what to do. It’s like 1984 tells us… it’s a boot stomping on a human face, forever. Why? Because it makes them feel good. And that’s all most people care about anymore. Give everyone a participation trophy. Because they feel good. Go get high, drunk and impregnate a bunch of women. Why? Because it feels good. Skip out on the child support and join a gang. Why? Because it feels good. Go to Harvard, get some bullshit degree and get elected to tell people what to do. Why? Because it feels good. Do what I say, says the politician, or I will tell someone to shoot you. Do what I say, says the thug, or I will shoot you.
But there’s always a bigger fish. Sooner or later the thug gets shot by a bigger thug. The politician’s career is ruined by another politician. And so it goes. A boot, stomping on a human face, forever.
Until the people en mass get pissed off enough, tear the boot’s off the thug’s feet, and use them to stomp a hole in his chest.
Then the serfs tear off the laces and hang the bastards that sent him.
The part that scares me is what comes after. Power abhors a vacuum.
The French Revolution taught politicians to allow the common man just enough that he fears its loss – that’s the present method of keeping the populus in line and it seems to be working rather well as I’ve not read of any politicians being sent where they belong, en masse.
The pussification began after WWII when the pols realized there were hundreds of thousands with some rather nasty skills which could be used to set the country back on the straight and narrow, hence, the “unprecedented prosperity” of the post-war years in keeping with the principal referred to in the first paragraph – that was allowed to happen in order to kick off the “Make America Milquetoast™” campaign, leading the average USA citizens to turn into screaming whineybutts rather than the self-sifficient innovators that built the country in the first place.
It’s not a matter of when, but if – the pussification has taken root, as evidenced by the level of tolerance afforded the communist in the Brown House.

Dear Friend,
Why doesn’t Vice President Biden take his gun commission to Chicago, the murder capital of the United States and a place with some of the strictest gun laws in the country?
Chicago had more than 500 gun homicides in 2012, or roughly 19 per 100,000 people.
By way of comparison, New York City had just 237 gun homicides with more than three times the population — only about 3 gun homicides per 100,000 people.
This puts the city of Chicago at more than 6 times the national gun homicide rate.
Yet in Chicago, it is effectively illegal to possess a handgun outside the confines of your own home. (Even taking the gun outdoors on your own property can be illegal.) Long guns face similar prohibitions outside the home or place of business.
And if you have more than one gun in your household, only one at a time may be maintained in “operable” condition.
All gun owners must register themselves with Chicago police, allow themselves to be fingerprinted and take a training course on gun use, supervised by police officers, in addition to paying a $100 fee.
They must also register each gun individually, at a cost of $15 per firearm.
In addition, a whole assortment of rifles and shotguns are banned completely, including many of the so-called “assault” weapons.
These prohibitions are not new to the city. In fact, for most of the last 30 years, Chicago had even stricter laws than they do today. In 2010, the Supreme Court struck down a ban on all handguns that had been on the books since 1982. The city continues to attempt to restrict guns as much as it can get away with without running afoul of the Court’s decision.
Many media elites, who are wealthy enough that they rarely need to worry about their own personal safety, are saying constantly these days that the U.S.’s gun homicide rate — higher than some cherry picked countries with gun bans — is proof that we, too, need to disarm our population.
But in Chicago, officials have gone as far as they can toward an outright ban and the city has one of the highest gun homicide rates in the developed world. If the absence of strong gun laws accounts for gun violence, how do they explain such significant outliers as Chicago?
And how many of these advocates for prohibition would feel the same way if they had to live in a place with the kind of lawlessness that’s occurring in Chicago, with a murder rate many times the national average?
The Vice President’s commission on gun control ought to start there in the murder capital of America. And the House Republicans should immediately begin hearings on how the gun control laws now being proposed have worked out for the people of the Windy City.
The answer, as last year’s historic gun homicide rate suggests, is not very well.
Your Friend,
Newt Gingrich

Just because someone asked via email, the shotgun I bought was an IAC Hawk 982. It’s a Chinese clone of a Remington 870. And it’s built like a tank, with a milled steel receiver (no aluminum here) and synthetic furniture.
Disparage the Chinese all you want, those people invented gunpowder, and they know how to build a gun. The fit and finish is on a par with what’s turning out of Freedom Group (Remington, DPMS, Bushmaster, TAPCO) these days, the action is smooth as freaking silk, and it’ll damn sure go BANG when asked.
At half the price of an 870. It’s a welcome addition to the “c’mon and get them” home defense layers.

The White House has responded to a handful of petitions calling for various states to be given the right to secede from the United States, calling for unity and participatory government instead.
“In a nation of 300 million people — each with their own set of deeply-held beliefs — democracy can be noisy and controversial. And that’s a good thing. Free and open debate is what makes this country work, and many people around the world risk their lives every day for the liberties we often take for granted,” writes Director of the Office of Public Engagement Jon Carson.
“But as much as we value a healthy debate, we don’t let that debate tear us apart,” he adds.
A handful of “We the People” petitions calling for the government to allow various states to secede cropped up following President Obama’s reelection. The White House has responded to all those which received more than 25,000 signatures within a month, the minimum required to get a response.
The states included in the response are Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. The Texas petition received over 125,000 signatures, more than any other.

LONG LIVE THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA
Patriotic Group To Build Armed ‘Defensible’ Neighborhood Fortress
By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.

A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.
The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who “voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson’s ideal of Rightful Liberty.”
According to the Citadel website, Rightful Liberty means that “neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors’ business, that neighbors live and let live.”
Citadel explains that residents in the community will be bound by the following:
Patriotism
Pride in American Exceptionalism
Our proud history of Liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers, and
Physical preparedness to survive and prevail in the face of natural catastrophes –such as Hurricanes Sandy or Katrina — or man-made catastrophes such as a power grid failure or economic collapse.
Residents should also agree that being “prepared for the emergencies of life and being proficient with the American icon of Liberty — the Rifle — are prudent measures.”
Some of the benefits of the Citadel community include a safe, well-prepared, patriotic community where children will be educated in school, not indoctrinated.
The community will be protected by a perimeter wall that will be inaccessible to “tourists.” Each neighborhood within the community will have lower walls, dividing the town into defensible sections.
The website has a link to applications where prospective residents can sign up. According to Citadel, more than 200 families have completed applications, even before any land has been purchased.
While Citadel may sound wonderful to many who are reading this, the community has posted a warning on their home page:
“Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.”
Citadel says that every patriot selected to live within the community “will voluntarily agree to follow the footsteps of our Founding Fathers by swearing to one another our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
Braces for the Kids Just Got More Expensive: Obamacare Tax Hike Case Study
In 2013, the tax increases in Obamacare will increasingly conspire against kitchen-table family healthcare decisions.
As just one example, below are some of the taxes that will impact the purchase of dental braces:
Obamacare Medical Device Tax: As of Jan.1, Obamacare imposes a new tax of 2.3 percent on medical device manufacturers, including those who make dental braces. The tax is imposed on gross sales — even if the company does not earn a profit in a given year. While the tax will be paid to the IRS by the manufacturer, the tax will be passed along as a higher cost of the product, ultimately to be borne by the parent buying the braces for their child. With the cost of braces being as high as $7,625 this new tax could raise the cost of these braces by $175.

These people need to be reminded: The Bill of Rights is not only the highest law of the land, it’s a package deal. You don’t get to tread on one part of it without attacking all of it.
“Shall not be infringed” is as strong, concise and clear as I can imagine. I don’t know how it could be made more plain.
One thing that’s been pissing me off more lately is this ignorant argument that “They never imagined AR-15s in 1787!” If anyone ever tries to dump that turd in your lap, tell them that they’re the ones suffering from a lack of imagination and point out that in 1787:
1) There were no antibiotics. The leading cause of death in the US was infection. A simple scratch could lead to a lingering, painful death from systemic sepsis and an abdominal wound almost certainly lead to a horrible death from peritonitis.
2) There was no vaccination against tetanus. If a ball grazed you, you might end up like this. The cause of death was suffocation as your diaphragm went into spasm.
3) Anesthesia, analgesia and sterile technique were nearly a century away. Nearly any wound to an extremity was treated with amputation, and there were no “disabled veteran’s benefits.” If you managed to survive the surgery, there was an excellent chance you’d contract infectious hepatitis. This assumes that you’d be treated at all. Many wounded were simply left on the battlefield to die as military medicine was haphazard at best.
Given the choice of being shot at with an AR today or dodging a dose of “ball and buck” at 20 paces from a Brown Bess in the 1700s, I’m fairly sure I’d take my chances with the AR.
LC Moriarty, Imperial Goatherd @ #:
I also like pointing out that the Colonists were under a death sentence from England and they probably would have jumped at the chance to send long range ballistic arguments to the British. I don’t know why these people seem to think that the Founding Fathers would be bed-wetting pansies at the thought of an M16.

Obama: Some Gun Control Measures ‘I Can Accomplish Through Executive Action’
“I’m confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation and that are within my authority as president.”
12:14 PM, Jan 14, 2013 • By DANIEL HALPER
President Obama said he’d take “executive action” to deal with guns at his press conference today:
“My understanding is the vice president’s going to provide a range of steps that we can take to reduce gun violence,” said Obama. “Some of them will require legislation, some of them I can accomplish through executive action. And so I will be reviewing those today, and as I said, I will speak in more detail to what we’re going to go ahead and propose later in the week. But I’m confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation and that are within my authority as president, and where you get a step that, has the opportunity to reduce the possibility of gun violence, then i want to go ahead and take it.”
If our Speaker of the House had a set he would issue a statement this afternoon that if Voldemort issues an XO then he would send Articles of Impeachement to the house floor. End of statement. In the articles it should list all the senators that signed the letter urging the pResident to issue an XO on gun control. As parties to the Impeachment articles the mentioned senators could not participate in the Seante trial. i believe tat this would give us the majority to boot their asses down the road. Do to again and again. Tie the bastard up in congressional hearings for the next four years.

Rumors are flying around about him adding this or that to the NFA registry by executive order. Fortunately, it doesn’t work that way; the NFA can only be amended by Congress, including adding new guns as NFA items. (Shotguns are an interesting case. Anything over .50 cal is an NFA item by definition, but can be exempted if the Secretary decides they have a “sporting purpose.”)
Look for exemption on Saiga shotguns to be revoked and importation of mags over 10 rounds to cease. These are things that could easily be “stroke of the pen, law of the land” sops to his base.
Going farther than that is moving into Constitutional Crisis territory.

Despair Inside the Beltway
By Arnold S. Trebach on 1.14.13 @ 6:08AM
Reflections on the upcoming second inauguration of President Obama.
The second inauguration of our sitting president will take place this coming weekend as this is being written. It is a time of great happiness for most of my neighbors and friends inside the beltway, indeed for most people in the country.
But I find myself in despair for our beloved country. It is quite likely that a large minority of the nation’s citizens agree with my pessimistic mood. The reasons for that despair are not difficult to discern.
Our beloved country is in terrible condition. The awful evidence is easily seen everywhere, for those willing to look. Our economic situation is unsustainable. Yes, the government of the richest country in the history of the world is, by all reliable measures, broke. Our national government cannot pay its bills and every day sinks deeper in debt because it is addicted to spending at extravagant rates. We are on our way to becoming the sad equivalent of Greece or another failed state.
There is plenty of blame to pass around for this condition and it should be shared by Democrats and Republicans, by George Bush and by Barack Obama, but the major part of the blame must be placed squarely on the shoulders of Mr. Obama and his administration. He has been in power for four years and he promised that he would deal with all of our major problems. He has not done so.
To put fine point on the matter, our president terrifies me, even though during most of my life I have been a liberal Democrat and voted for him in his first election.
If viewed honestly his first term has been an unmitigated disaster. The national debt is at an historic high. So is unemployment. Despite these sad, undeniable facts, he was elected to another term. That of course is typical of his history for much of his life. He is a master politician of the Chicago school and yet a disaster as a manager and practical leader.
His political skills helped him get selected as the editor of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. Yet he proved a failure as the leader of that publication. There is no evidence that he authored one written comment or publication during his entire tenure.
His political skills also led to his election in 1996 to the Illinois State Senate where his work there was without any sign of major distinction. Often, he voted “present” rather than show the guts to fight for significant new laws.
Despite this lackluster record in Illinois, his political savvy led to his election to the United States Senate in 2004. His record in the Senate was equally without distinction in part because he spent most of his time there running for president. Yet, he was elected president in 2008 and, as I said, I voted for him. Like many millions of citizens, I managed to overcome my disgust at his association with his bigoted, racist, anti-Semitic pastor, Jeremiah Wright.
Mr. Obama now is seeking to take the lead in getting the country beyond the so-called fiscal cliff. In my view, had he been a proper leader, the country would have avoided the fiscal cliff months ago. His failures of leadership were the main causes of the horrors around the fiscal cliff.
Yet, again his political mastery has again produced a situation in which he is given credit for being a good leader and the press and the public are placing the lion’s share of the blame for our dire economic situation on Congress and the Republicans.
If history is to be repeated, which is likely, somehow the country will move beyond the fiscal cliff and Barack Obama will move forward with governing the country while basking in the warm glow of press and public applause.
And again if history prevails, he will be a disaster in his second term as he was in the first. Race relations will continue to get worse under his leadership; so will black crime. The nation’s status in foreign affairs will also continue to deteriorate. Israel will continue to be treated as the major problem in the Middle East rather than our most trusted and valuable ally in the region and the world. The master politician will continue to be a failure as a leader and manager — and all the while he will be applauded as a great chief executive by the slavish major media and by a majority of the public.
When the country finally collapses in a sea of debt and red ink, or even in a race war, neither he nor his Democratic Party will be blamed. It is likely that another Democrat will be elected to the White House in 2016.
Those in brief are the reasons why I am in despair and why we all should despair for our wonderful country as the inauguration day approaches.
I pray that my pessimistic forecasts do not prove to be true in the near future, but I fear that the forces of history do not allow for much hope in this regard — except in one way. If millions of good Americans agree with these awful forecasts then perhaps — just perhaps — there will be a groundswell of popular demand that drastic measures must be taken very soon to change the disastrous direction of the precious American nation.

The Big List of Who Hates Guns
Mike Piccione
Editor, Guns & Gear
I was cruising the web reading gun articles and then I started wondering about writing an article on anti-gun organizations and people. Since anti-gunners are always saying “no one wants to take your guns away” or they want me to live under their take of “sensible gun laws” (neither of which I believe to be prudent, sensible or anything remotely truthful) I figured I would go to the NRA’s Institute of Legislative Action to find out who are the people that want to be sure that I can’t defend my home or go shooting my .22 in the woods (both heinous acts of human behavior to be sure).
So, hats off the the NRA-ILA team for compiling this list. Here is what the NRA-ILA team had to say.
The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI “Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws.” Many of these organizations were listed as “Campaign Partners,” for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton “assault weapons” ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

I am in constant confusion about the American Jews- they seem so intent on self destruction with their constant votes for Democrats. Their support for Øbama, in spite of both his speeches and actions against Israel and the leaders of Israel made not one iota of difference to the American Jewish vote- they almost unanimously supported Øbama. What a foolish group of fantasy believers. The Hagel nomination won´t change any American Jewish minds, either. Øbama could nominate an openly Nazi saluting candidate and the American Jews would still make excuses to support the Democrat. Amazing ethnic blindness.
LC Gladiator @ #67:
It’s been my observation that some Jews are very thoughtful about the meaning of their religion, their ethical and philosophical heritage and how these things relate to the world today. They range from Orthodox to Reformed in their perspectives and are usually not at all shy about the fact that they either own guns or at least support those who do.
Then there are other people. They call themselves Jews, and not being Jewish, I’m not qualified to dispute that. Yet, they seem to care nothing about the lessons of history and view the Holocaust as something they can trot out anytime they feel the need to take the moral high ground in a discussion. They often seem intensely ignorant of their religion (like the young woman I dated in college who insisted that the “Jewish Bible”, as she called it, was “the Koran.”) They seem more interested in using their religion as a path to identity politics (“I’m a Jew, therefore I’m a liberal”) than understanding their own heritage and drawing any conclusions from it.
There are a lot more of the latter than the former. I have no way to explain this.
Game over.

Apparently th4e guy behind it is pretty controversial even in prepper and threeper circles.
Pups, I sent the following to my state Senator, my state Representative, and to the House and Senate leadership of my state. If you guys think it is a good idea, copy and send, or compose your own and send to your state legislators.
Dear (insert legislator’s name and title)
Due to the Newtown, CN tragedy, the left, Sen Diane Feinstein, particularly are intent on introducing legislation at the federal level to ban, register, and confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens. This is a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution and a violation of the oath of office all federal elected officials swear.
In view of this, it would be a very good idea to introduce legislation that:
Would make it a felony, punishable by not less than 5 years imprisonment and a fine of not less than $100,000 for any federal, state, county, or local law enforcement officer to attempt to confiscate firearms in the State of Oklahoma in an attempt to enforce such a federal law. There will be no time off for good behavior allowed. Once the prison sentence has been finished, the convicted felon should be banished from the state.
Would make it a felony, punishable by immediate removal from office, and not less than 5 years imprisonment with no time allowed for good behavior, and a fine of not less than $100,000, permanent loss of any pension from the state government, and banishment from the State of Oklahoma, for any member of the Oklahoma State Legislature to introduce legislation to ban and/or register and/or confiscate any firearms, including, but not limited to semi-automatic rifles of any caliber, semi-automatic shotguns of any gauge, semi-automatic pistols of any caliber, and/or revolvers of any caliber.
Would make it a felony, punishable by immediate removal from office for any judge or justice of the State of Oklahoma to attempt to rule such a law unconstitutional.
Would make it a felony, punishable by immediate removal from office and banishment from the State of Oklahoma for any federal judge assigned, either permanently or temporarily, to the State of Oklahoma to attempt to rule such legislation to be unconstitutional.
It is past time for the State of Oklahoma to put the federal government on notice that we will no longer accept any violation of the Constitution by the federal government, particularly, but not limited to the 2nd, 9th, and 10th Amendments.
Sincerely,
(insert name and address here)
Way ahead of you… provided it’s enforced properly. (Emphasis added.)
Rand Paul vs. King Barack I
By: John Hayward
1/15/2013 03:30 PM
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) gave an interview to the Christian Broadcasting Network in which he rather strongly denounced President Obama’s threats to impose gun control through executive orders. ”I’m against having a king,” said the Senator. ”I think having a monarch is what we fought the American Revolution over, and someone who wants to bypass the Constitution, bypass Congress, that’s someone who wants to act like a king or monarch.”
To be more specific, the notion of suffering rule without representation was a big sticking point with the authors of the Declaration of Independence. Speaking of kings and monarchs is a valid shorthand way of expressing the notion that unitary government is the problem… even if the absolute ruler has to stand for election every four years, and even when he’s limited to two terms in office.
RELATED: Trump: If GOP doesn’t hold firm ‘country will go to hell’
Bypassing Congress is an aggressive method of ruling without representation. It’s supposed to be difficult to force sweeping national agendas upon a free people. The modern appetite for swift, “efficient,” all-powerful centralized government is a denial of that principle. It’s tough to find issues where Rand Paul agrees with, say, Harry Reid, isn’t it? Good. That difficulty defines the boundaries of what the federal government is supposed to be doing. Battles over the extension of those boundaries should be nice and vicious. The American people deserve no less.
What makes a “king?” It’s not the means by which he takes the throne, or the length of time he remains there. The threat of punishment at the ballot box in four years is not a sufficient check on executive power, especially for a President who will never again face the voters.
What is “taxation without representation?” Ask your grandchildren, when they are taxed through the nose to pay off deranged spending commitments they weren’t alive to oppose.
I see nothing wrong with invoking the language of the American Revolution, when it is so clearly still in progress.
THE NRA strikes back
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/01/15/nra-obama-ad/
Just wanted to let you know – today I received my Fiscal Cliff Survival Pack from the White House.
It contained a parachute, an ‘Obama Hope & Change’ bumper sticker, a ‘Bush’s Fault’ yard sign, a ‘Blame Boehner’ poster, a ‘Tax the Rich’ banner, an application for unemployment, an application for food stamps, a prayer rug, a letter of assignation of debt to my grandchildren and if that was not enough, there was a coupon for a machine that blows smoke up my ass. Everything was made in “China” and all directions were in Spanish.
Keep an eye out. Yours should arrive soon.

I saw that this morning Glad, sent out an e-mail to all my freinds. As for my investment bank only, Wells Fargo, managing only my money market fund, it shared by four different groups. So far, so good, I check daily. My local, regional bank here has all my business. They have treated me extremely well and have an excellent financial rating. None of these get rich quick schemes. Any move in a similar direction by Wells, that money will be in my checking account the same day….all of it.

It’s 3:00 pm Chicago time, teh one has decreed that he will use the bodies of dead children to futher his goal of total takeover of the ciitizens of the United States. Can’t happen here you say, well this is about step 8 in the process of turning you into a slave to the state. Pay income tax that gets redistributed to the great unwashed? You’re a slave. Buy stuff you don’t want like health insurance, you’re a slave. Take your shoes off to ride a plane? You’re a slave. Not a member of a protected class and get screwed out of a business opportunity, you’re a slave. Kill a bad guy who looks like teh one’s son who was trying to kill you and get thrown in jail, you’re a slave.
It’s about time to “Cry Havoc and release the dogs of war.” I for one will not live my life on my knees. I’m getting to the sunset of my years and will leave the legacy of a free United States to my progeny and their progeny even if it means that I die trying. You’ll know who I am by the mountain of brass at my feet.
It is good for government for that government to fear it citizens. All other conditions lead to the tyranny of the few over the many.

Here is a sampling of where these decrees this can go: http://www.dethguild.com/the-furers-edicts/
1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
- What this means:
This will set the stage for medical records getting reviewed by the various agencies of the federal government.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
- What this means:
A: Remove state barriers to sharing medical records with the various agencies of the federal government.
B: Opening a path for insurance companies to require special plans for gun owners. Sounds expensive.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
- What this means:
Bribe states to provide medical records to the various agencies of the federal government. Wavers, grants, you name it – they’ll use tax-dollars creatively.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
- What this means:
All that information they will be collecting in sections 2-3? This will be used to part as many people as possible from their second amendment privileges.
5. Propose rule-making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
- What this means:
If the authorities take possession of a weapon, they can check medical records to discover reasons to never return it.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
- What this means:
"Encourage" the sporting goods chains and big-box stores to consult these newly collected records for reasons to deny a sale. Expect "Guidance" to become
"Require" shortly after the next shooting.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
- What this means:
Your tax dollars will be used to manufacture a publicly funded Anti-NRA.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
- What this means:
Lean on producers of gun locks and gun safes. This will make them more expensive. Recall that many states have regulations w/regards to weapon storage. The idea is to increase the up-front expense of owning a firearm.
9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
- What this means:
The various federal agencies will use this as an excuse to pilfer the records of FFL license holders when a weapon they sold is used in a crime. De-facto registration.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
- What this means:
You lost your AR-15 in a tragic boating accident and reported it stolen? Now they can easily check if you are in violating USC, Title 18, Section 1001.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
- What this means:
I’m positive Obama will select a true champion of gun rights.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
- What this means:
Unless they are going to arm groups 2-3, don’t expect much here beyond suspensions for playing cowboys and Indians. It’s not in their interest to meaningfully stop gun-violence.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
- What this means:
Expect every trivial violation of federal gun law to be pursued with all the forgivness, mercy, compassion, and tenderness of a bull shark.
14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
- What this means:
Concoct a list of every possible medical condition, drug, or mental health issue that can be used as rational to deny sale of /seize weapons.
15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
- What this means:
Pressure to coerce firearm manufacturers into neutering products. May be a framework for mandatory regulations down the road. Might also be a womb for litigation should the companies ignore these "suggestions."
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
- What this means:
Re-writing the Affordable Care Act to remove language inserted by Harry Reid w/regards to health records. This should not be possible through executive order. Unless congress will impeach, and senate will convict, will happen regardless.
17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.
- What this means:
Informing doctors they have permission to ignore the law. Should make for plenty of fun litigation down the road. Any Dr. taking this advice had better have insurance up to date and attorney on speed-dial.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
- What this means:
Unless these "officers" are armed, consider them nothing more than feel-good C.Y.A anti-gun propagandists. As well as mandatory reporters if they can coax a child into talking about parental firearms.
19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
- What this means:
C.Y.A. Dog squat. Will provide a nice excuse to militarize the various federal agencies though. Expect more RFP’s for Dept. Edu Remington 870′s.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
- What this means:
Expand medical coverage to a positively dazzling number of mental health ailments. Which will be recorded, and used as a reason to deny/seize firearms.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
- What this means:
Provides a pretext to implement 1, 2, 3, 16, 17, 20, 23. Legality questionable. Will be challenged the second someone has proper standing. In several years.
22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.
- What this means:
See 21.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.
- What this means:
Demonize and propagandize a wide swath of mental issues, illnesses, and medications to squelch the outcry when they start disarming people.
Citizens File Articles of Impeachment Against Obama
For sedition against the Constitution
“When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
There can no longer be any doubt – the forces of tyranny are running wild across our once great Republic. The time has come for all good men and women to rally to the aid of their country. We have now entered a historic crossroads that will decide the destiny of the United States. Arrogance and corruption has long festered in Washington DC, but the last decade has seen an extreme acceleration of criminal looting and attacks on liberty – every freedom is under sustained assault.
We the People, the rightful masters of this Republic, will either rise up through Congress and the states or we can trade in our birthright of liberty for the chains of a technocratic slavery. Below we list some of the more egregious acts of seditious treason against the Republic of the United States. Anyone who wishes to continue to live in a free country and to pass that birthright on to their children must research this document and then lobby state legislatures and the Congress to do their duty and remove the would-be dictator.
The time has now come for a bill of impeachment to be introduced and debated in Congress. Obama’s crimes are public, and the debate in the House will serve as a court in which to display the tyrannical activities of President Obama and his cohorts. As in the case of Richard Nixon, the exposure of Obama’s crimes may cause him to resign in disgrace. If he does not step down, the full House will then vote to begin the impeachment trial in the US Senate. The time has now come to make your decision – to stand up to evil or get on your knees as a willing slave.
Articles of Impeachment Against Barack Hussein Obama – Filed by Citizen Alexander Emric Jones, January 15, 2013.
- He has clearly communicated his intent to eviscerate the second amendment rights of American citizens by pursuing executive orders to curtail the right to keep and bear arms without congressional authorization and in violation of the second amendment.
Below, Congressman Stockman has pledged to move for impeachment against Obama. I am standing up against Obama right beside him, will you?
“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation,” reads a statement by Rep. Steve Stockman. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years. The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.”
- He has aided America’s enemies, violating his oath, by sending funds to insurgents in Syria who are being commanded by Al-Qaeda terrorists.
- He has violated federal law by overseeing a cover-up surrounding Operation Fast and Furious, the transfer of guns to Mexican drug cartels direct from the federal government.
- He has lied to the American people by overseeing a cover-up of the Benghazi attack which directly led to the deaths of four American citizens. The cover-up has been called “Obama’s Watergate,” yet four months after the incident, no one in the administration has been held accountable.
- He has brazenly undermined the power of Congress by insisting his authority came from the United Nations Security Council prior to the attack on Libya and that Congressional approval was not necessary. “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question,” said Obama. This is an act that “constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution,” according to Congressman Walter Jones.
- He has flagrantly violated article 1, section 9, clause 8 of the Constitution by accepting rotating status as chairman of the United Nations Security Council. The clause states, “No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States; and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall without consent of Congress accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
- He has ignored Congressional rejection of the cybersecurity bill and instead indicated he will pursue an unconstitutional executive order.
- He has signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act which includes provisions that permit the abduction and military detention without trial of U.S. citizens, violating Habeas Corpus. Despite Obama claiming he would not use the provisions to incarcerate U.S. citizens, it was his administration that specifically demanded these powers be included in the final NDAA bill.
- He has enacted universal health care mandates that force Americans to buy health insurance, a clear violation of the Constitution in exceeding congressional power to regulate interstate commerce. Obama has also handed out preferential waivers to corporations friendly to his administration.
- He has declared war on America’s coal industry by promising to bankrupt any company that attempts to build a new coal plant while using unconstitutional EPA regulations to strangle competition, ensuring Americans see their energy costs rise year after year.
- He has violated the Constitution’s Takings and Due Process Clauses when he bullied the secured creditors of automaker Chrysler into accepting 30 cents on the dollar while politically connected labor unions and preferential others received better deals.
- He has violated Article II of the Constitution by using signing statements as part of his executive usurpation of power.
“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment.”
Rep. Steve Stockman, Texas.
For these, and other offenses which constitute high crimes and misdemeanors, including perjury of oath, abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming and refusal to obey a lawful order, we call for the immediate impeachment of Barack H. Obama.
Listened to this song an thought it “fitting”…..
HELLYEAH “Band of Brothers”
Little Barry looks to have picked the wrong fight, indeed. Maybe this is just the start of the little feller’s fall from his lofty perch. I know I’m one of the few, but I still think Benghazi is going to bite this creep in the butt. Hillary might skate, due to the boo boo on her head, and a pass from McCain….but I’ve read about McCain’s time in Vietnam…I just don’t believe that knowing Obama let those men die begging for help for a POLITICAL REASON sits well with him. McCain has let me down in the past….here is hoping he stands up for what is right and exposes EXACTLY what happened in Benghazi. As a lot here would agree, Benghazi STINKS, from Obama partay-ing the day after in Las Vegas, Rice and the Sunday shows, arresting the dope who made the video, to Hillary’s boo boo…..As Judge Judy says: It doesn’t make sense. And if it doesn’t make sense it’s probably not true.
I smell impeachment, removal from office and I guess a lot of civil unrest. That is code for all the thugs that look like Obama’s son to go on a spree at Foot Locker to redistribute some wealth and burn their own neighborhoods to the ground. Oh, well–let the games begin. The country needs a good shaking out. We’ve fallen pretty far.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will propose legislation early next week to “nullify” President Barack Obama’s executive actions on guns, the senator announced on Fox News’ “Hannity” Wednesday.
Paul told host Sean Hannity that Obama’s executive orders are a breach of constitutional separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches.
“Our founding fathers were very concerned about us having separation of powers,” Paul said. “They didn’t want to let the president become a king…In this bill, we will nullify anything the president does that smacks of legislation.”
“There are several of the executive orders that appear as if he is writing new law. That cannot happen…The court struck Clinton down for trying this.”
Paul also said it concerning that Obama seems to be developing some sort of a “king complex.”
Talking Points Memo has reviewed a one-page summary of Paul’s proposed legislation, titled “Separation of Powers Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act.” TPM has more:
“We only have descriptions of the executive actions, yet many could be construed to describe an attempt by the executive to make laws in violation of the Article 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment,” reads the one-page summary of the Paul plan shared with TPM by his staff.
Paul’s bill will set out to nullify Obama’s executive actions, deny any federal funding for their implementation, and allow members of Congress and state officials to challenge the actions in court.
Paul conceded that Democrats in the Senate, who hold the majority, would likely not back his proposal.
“This idea of checks and balances and separation of powers should be a fundamental one,” he said. “I’m afraid that there isn’t much support on the Democratic side, but we’ll see.”
it seems the new New York magazine ban does not exempt the police.
