Time’s Up?

The Gadsden Flag was our first national battle flag, and for awhile it was our fist national ensign. A variation of it flew from the few Continental Navy ships that dared to challenge His Majesty’s fleet on the high seas, and it was also the first flag of the Marine Corps. It has a unique and important niche in the pantheon of American imagery.

The imagery of the Gadsden said it all for the Founders, philosophically and rhetorically. The rattlesnake was indigenous to the colonies and was uniquely American in nature. Like the rattlesnake, the colonists desired peace and to be left alone. The vipers intimidating and distinct rattlers served as  an unmistakable warning to any who threatened it or intruded on its territory. The caption, “Don’t Tread On Me” was also clear. Leave us in peace, but the warning implicit to those who molested the snake was clear.

The Founders saw themselves very much like the rattlesnake. Desirous of peace, hard to provoke, and giving fair warning to those that threatened it to prevent violence, but capable of swift and deadly action if their warnings were ignored.

The Gadsden’s historical imagery and clear message was why it became so popular with the Tea Party Patriots and Americans who remember our heritage in 2009, and why it remains so to this day. One of my favorite signs seen at the Tea Party protests was one that said “We came unarmed, this time.” That message is also unambiguous and clear, and one that the statist elites ignore at their own peril.

Now we again face the threat of massive  infringements on our Civil Liberties as the statists once again seek to exploit a national tragedy to advance their agenda of governmental control. The unprecedented run on militia firearms should serve as a warning as clear to them as the rattles of the Gadsden snake do. People are not buying these rifles so they can be grandfathered in, they’re buying them because they are waking up and realizing the gravity of the situation and the frightening prospect of the elites true intentions. They are rediscovering the history that the statists want to “transform”.

If they continue on the path of tyranny that they are advocating, our dear Gadsden Flag will be replaced by this one.

I’m sure you’ve seen that the President is considering using an Executive Order to reclassify all semi-automatic firearms as Class-2 firearms, which would be a de facto seizure.

As I’ve said before, there’s a lot of folks already on the line, just waiting for things to get started. I’ve also noticed a shift in a lot of blogs/articles/posts from ‘if there is a civil war’ to ‘when the civil war starts, we should employ these strategies/tactics/logistics’.

My favorite to date is the plan I read where they thought to cut off the power and water to the cities, cut their food supplies via dropping bridges, and simply exterminating the ‘elected’ officials and the party power-brokers who install them.

Seems to make more sense than manning the barricades ala Les Miserables, although with far less opportunity for singing. :P

This fight won’t likely be “manning the barricades”, it will be small unit strikes on high value targets, especially politicians and their staffs, and critical infrastructure. Targeting the lead personalities, such as any representative who votes for an infringement, or any politician or bureaucrat who supports or implements an executive order doing so will pay the most dividends. Their staff as well. Neither the pols or their staff have protection. A few of them face the wrath of patriots and the rest will clog the system with demands for protection. When that isn’t available, the system grinds to a halt as they weigh there own safety, and that of their families, against going to work. Especially once they realize that the people they rely on for both their protection and to seize the peoples arms in the first place, the sheepdogs, don’t exactly like them all that much and tend to side with the people, not the tyrants. It ain’t gonna be pretty, and I pray that the elitists listen to that rattle.

Another thing different between now and 1994, as an example, is that more and more people are being taught the true meaning of the 2nd Amendment via social networking and blogging. Nobody is buying the “sporting purpose” bullshit anymore. Clinton was a tyrant wannabe, Ogabe is a tyrant aspirant. The people are seeing the difference and waking up.

Excellent, SoCal…..excellent! The word spreads, even now. Here in Dog Patch, it’s simply a way of life. I was trimming my hedge, my neighbor invited me over to see his new handgun, a .40,, with a laser. I checked it’s condition, then aimed it at the side of my house seeing how much the laser moved. He owns several weapons, on the other side of me the same story.

I’m sure that many on this site already realize it, but for those that haven’t yet caught it …

There are a good many works of “speculative fiction” – such as Bracken’s “What I Saw at the Coup” – that provide very informative “plans” for how guerilla operations could be effectively conducted.

Centralized operations of the type that a tyrannical government would rely upon are logistics heavy, and thereby vulnerable. Fifteen cents worth of emery powder can rapidly destroy and disable a multi-million dollar machine. Water lines into a given area are susceptible to rupture and contamination. A few downed transformers can knock out power to entire city sectors, and repair crews that fear a random sniper shot won’t be in a hurry to get out to repair them. Any sort of roadside checkpoints or blockades need only suffer a few shots from surrounding cover to render them unsupportable.

It’s time to start marking the targets.

  19. 19
    LC Draco growls and barks:

Caveman82952….Lasers on weapons are kind of a two edged sword. If you practice A LOT with them then you know that the laser only comes on at the last second on the target. The other side is that lasers are like tracers, they give away your position.

The only weapon I have with a laser (green btw) is one of my M4s. For my side arms, I personally prefer the M2 UTL. These aren’t my HKs, but mine look like these.

I’m all for peace, love and harmony, but even the Dalai Lama recognizes, if someone is coming to kill you and you have a gun, you should kill them first. Kinda funny that it parallels the Old Testament, where it says, if a criminal breaks into your home at night, arise and slay him first. Either way, you can be absolutely sure they ain’t coming to sell you some Girl Scout Cookies! Sad that some folks think you can keep away the evil in this world by wishful thinking and a sign that reads “No Bad People Allowed”.

Perhaps we should take out the fire extinguishers and fire exits signs, lest that encourage those type of negative thoughts in those fragile little children, that there could one day be a fire in that building. I think we should call for that immediately, because some crazy person could misuse those extinguishers and hurt or kill someone, like Jack Nicholson in “The Shining”with his axe! We should leave that sort of thing up to the professionals!

Yeah, except that will also necessitate the mass starvation of millions of citizens, and everyone knows that starvation is such a good way of: (1) avoiding foreign intervention; and (2) guaranteeing that people living in/having relatives in urban areas will be willing to accept whatever new government the rebels who starved them propose. If the plan is to start down the road of genocide, FreeFor better make absolutely sure it has the resources to complete it – and keep in mind, completing it is going to require 8-9 figures worth of dead bodies.

It isn’t. Sure, TPTB will tell you that it is, and so long as enough people go along with that, that will hold up. TPTB know that pretty much no one is willing to be the first to stick his head over the parapet, and they know that a large percentage of the population are statist/collectivists, so they know their pronouncements will stick.

WHITE HOUSE THREATENS ‘EXECUTIVE ORDERS’ ON GUNS

“The president is going to act,” said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. “There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”

Biden said that this is a moral issue and that “it’s critically important that we act.”

Biden talked also about taking responsible action. “As the president said, if you’re actions result in only saving one life, they’re worth taking. But I’m convinced we can affect the well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out of harm’s way if we act responsibly.”
