Just Shut The Fuck Up, Allahpundit

We’ve defended the guy in the past because, even though we often don’t agree with him, we enjoy his writing style. But seriously, when he puts out ignorant shit like this, we just can’t look the other way:

Exit question: Why do gun manufacturers continue to make guns that look like military weapons even though they aren’t? We don’t care if the market demands it; you’re doing gun-control fans a huge favor by following that aesthetic.

That is so fundamentally ignorant, so incandescently imbecilic of a “question” that we don’t even know where to start. Thankfully, we don’t have to, thanks to LC and newly minted IB Silverdeth (into the blog roll you go, you magnificent bastards!), whose response to that puling beta male pussy piece of whingeing shit is so artistic, so picture perfect, so awe-inspiringly wonderful that we’re not even going to post a teaser quote. You’re going to have to go read the full thing yourselves and you’ll be glad that we made you do so.

Sometimes, not very often to be quite honest, we just have to let our arrogant, smug, we could have said that better jaw drop in sheer awe of an epic beat down. This is one of those times.

Treat yourselves by clicking that link and see how it’s done.

And Silverdeth: Welcome to the Empire. We’re honored to have you.

I would have commented at your place but I don’t know how to log in there. I have a “assault weapon” whatever the fuck that is. An SKS that is good to about 150 meters, maybe 200 meters if one is lucky. However my standard hunting rifle is good to 1200 meters in the right hands. My old shaky hands are only good now-a-days to 600 to 800 meters. Which of these two do the GFW want to ban? The SKS of course. Because it “looks scary.” Ah well my SKS is still a C&R piece so still won’t be banned.

The 2A was written SPECIFICALLY that we should, every citizen, have combative weaponry equal to any standing foot soldier. As well, and on a slightly different note, just what in the ever loving fuck does it matter about the cosmetics? We do NOT have selective fire weaponry as a general rule. What people want is what sells. But people will still buy what they need, cosmetics be damned.

THIS is why we all need serious hardware. Remember the Korean store owners? the black looters and killers targeted them in particular, in a racist lynch-mob kind of way. Oh, but of course, only people of pallor are capable of racism. Anyway, some of them had automatic weapons, and knew how to use them against the murderous mobs.

Allahpundit can shove it right up his puckered cornhole. That said, there IS a point buried here someplace — just not the one he thinks there is. It’s true the uneducated public perceives “assault weapons” (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean) as inherently evil, infernal devices nobody could possibly need. But that’s only BECAUSE they are uneducated, and the guns look a lot like what they see in the movies killing lots of people.

Of course we are smart enough not to believe what we see on TV or in the movies, but the vast majority apparently aren’t, and unfortunately, these things vote. So maybe instead of caving to the sensibilities of idiots, we actually try and educate people more on guns, and how NOT scary they actually are in the hands of a safe, responsible gun owner, regardless of the make, model and type. Hell, we might even show them how a gun owner could wind up saving their lives instead.

Or maybe instead I should be like Allahpundit. I know what will make my AK-47 less scary… a pretty pink bow! And a Hello Kitty sticker!

    Fucking Ass Bandit.

    LC Gladiator growls and barks:

Spending is the problem, not the lack of taxes. The IRS collected roughly 2.5 trillion last year in tax revenue. That should have been the goverment’s budget, but it wasn’t. Instead they spent that plus a trillion and then some.

The goverment knows it overspends but when it comes to having the fortitude to do something about it, they opt to ‘kick the can down the road’ as they like to say because it’s not sexy to say “NO!”

I don’t know what’s up with Ways and Means. Although this bill doesn’t raise taxes, taxes are going to be raised via Obamacare. So, I’m not sure where all these so-called ‘savings’ are going to come from. Somehow they completely managed to miss the boat on that calculation unless there is stuff going on with Obamacare that nobody is talking about.

The estate or death tax shouldn’t even exist. The majority of this tax applies to farmers as they have more land than the average person. Farmers pay property taxes and other various taxes so it isn’t as if they don’t pay anything. This is nothing more than a money grab on a tiny fraction of the economy.

Even if a non-farmer decides to build a mansion in the side of a hill with acres of land somewhere, who cares. They are still going to have to pay taxes on the property so it isn’t as if taxes are not being paid. The death tax is nothing more than the goverment wanting it’s share of something that it has no reason to grab for unless it’s looking for money to spend on bogus studies like the study of Klingons.

Taxes on capital gains and dividends will also increase due to Obamacare, so as I said before, unless there is stuff going on with Obamcacare that nobody is talking about, that line is also BS.

People are pissed off as they should be. This nonsense of nibbling around the edges and cutting 800 billion over 10 years doesn’t mean anything. Let’s do the math.

800 divided by 10= 80 billion a year. The Federal Reserve prints 85 billion a day. They’re already in the red in a single day, nevermind this nonsense of saving 800 billion over 10 years as within that 10 year period, they add more crap to the budget to spend money on.

I like the Speaker as a person, but this nonsense he’s been putting out is enough to make a person want to rip their hair out. Every day there is some mention of this spending problem and yet there is zero mention of spending cuts in these proposals.

Obama is going to veto any bill that doesn’t go his way. Such bills will sit and rot on Harry Reid’s desk which is something else that has been tirelessly complained about.

People in government cannot have it both ways. They think they can because they rarely pull their heads from beyond the beltway where fuzzy math is considered normal and acceptable, but beyond the walls of the Capitol Building, not so much. People are tired of it and they’re no longer taking it and sitting in the corner.

Cut the frickin’ spending and there will still be arguments, but the debt clock will be moving in the opposite direction for a much needed change.

Ya know, I’m not going to get into the aesthetics of a weapon. I buy them because I like them, even if other people don’t. My main “concern” is that it goes bang when I need it to. That being said I recently purchased a rifle specifically for the look of the thing. It is the bastard child of a 30-30 and an AR. It is, as FrankOK would say, as “ugly as Fido’s ass.”
But here’s the kicker, even though in all respects it is a lever action 30-30, it will still fall under the AWB. Why? because the manufacturer committed the ultimate sin of putting a collapsible stock and picatinny rails on it.

On November 9th I went and bought a Core15 AR clone. I didn’t want to ever have to buy this type of weapon but I felt that to protect my family I needed something in the 50 to 300 meter range that chambered a readily available caliber. I already have a battery of long range rifles (-06 cartridge based) that are capable of taking game out to 1 click and 2 12ga riot guns. I didn’t think I needed the in-between capability until the Usurper was re-annointed. I have taken the time to teach my daughter to shoot pistol, shotgun and rifle. The spousal unit is next. I suggest that you do the same. Buy ammo too. (1000 rounds per weapon)

I pray to the good Lord that all my preparation is in vain but prepare like Satan himself is targeting my loved ones. I suspect that they will come in the night but if they do, Ruby Ridge or Waco will look like a picnic. But this I know it will get darker before the dawn, those who should be standing for our rights are caving like sackless metrosexuals to the New Left Junta of the Socialist Empire. Only a calculating craven bastard would use the sensless murder of children to advance his agenda. There are many who are onto his game but there are many who are not. At this point I spend a lot of time educating my friends and colleagues as to what is really afoot. Please do the same, only when the truth of their shenanigans is exposed will the light at the end of the tunnel be something other than an oncoming train.

Congratulations to WalMart for ignoring the “hysterical” big, bad black gun scare, propagated by the far left, their minions in the MSM (Especially Bloomberg, wonder why?) Almost no one (on the left) is even to acknowledge the fact if the principal and/or the school psychologist had something else to “confront” the psychotic shooter besides their bodies, there might have been many, if not all, of the precious children might still be alive… Typical liberal comments go something like this, “Armed teachers in schools, are you serious (horror, horror).” Or, “What do you want to do, make murderers out of teachers?”.. My answer, “No, I want to place weapons (preferably concealed) in the hands of administrators, teachers, etc. that are psychologically capable of defending their students and that are sufficiently trained in tactics and marksmanship to be effective in that role.” Are there not many, perhaps ex-military teachers, that would be willing and able to perform that task… Perhaps even placing a sign in front of the school stating, “This is NOT a gun free zone! WE ARE ARMED AND WE WILL KILL YOU IF YOU ATTACK US.” Anyone that thinks eliminating a crazed psychopath is “murder” is, IMHO an idiot! Anticipating the next argument…No, I don’t buy the supposition that there need be confusion resulting in horrific accidents and innocent people being shot…. Once the first responders (eventually) get there, common sense and training would indicate those with concealed weapons would put them down, raise their hands and withdraw from any confrontation…Just a little common sense please! Oh, and how about “profiling” and intervention of those most likely to commit such crimes. Maybe rethinking “mainlining” potentially dangerous mentally ill and providing effective, humane treatment? Just a thought.

Also, I now have a Picatinny rail on my .303 – which, interestingly enough, was a premier sniper rifle in WWII. Think the Gubmint will take it away? Gonna have to get closer than 1000 yds, and I have FMJ’s to send their way if they get insistent.

Between my GP100 and my wife’s Ruger LCR, I think we’re good. Just got 500 rounds for the rifle and 1000 rounds for the GP and LCR. Gonna stay current with both of ’em. Yes, we carry, and the spousal unit has her CCP. And we ignore the “No Guns Allowed” signs. Well, except in the Courthouse and Federal Building. Just sign ’em in/out at the gun locker. No problem.

Although this is probably his last best chance to get it done. I’ve been wrong before and the implications of being wrong again this time far outweigh being right. We just can’t take that chance. Nope. He could care less about F&F, and without a third term to “win” (assuming he doesn’t declare martial law and appoint himself POTUS for life) he doesn’t have to worry about any potential backlash. Just ask the Russians, now he can be more flexible.

Avrech, mentioned in comment 3, is a neighbor and friend. His essay also commemorates the day that I went from being for gun control. forgive me, but I was raised a northeastern Democratic Jew, close enough to NYC to get NYC rates on NY Times subscriptions. In my senior high school year of 1979-1980, I began to question the political orthodoxy and wrote my senior AP American History paper on justifications for our involvement in Vietnam. I was raised by a father who got his BS, MS and PhD between 1963 and 1968 and wouldn’t allow me to own a water pistol that looked like a gun… I had to have the ones that looked like barrels or “greenie meanies”, which looked like green plastic brass knuckles.

Never publicize what you own. It will be used against you.

I don’t think the left is so stupid that it will confront gun owners. They know and use the tactics of Mao and are taking a long view of history. They are well-aware that in owning K-PhD education they can indoctrinate generations to willingly hand over the firearms they receive as family heirlooms, trading bullets for birth control pills as they repeat the mantra of “O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma…” They will get celebrity skanks to make ads saying they’d trade a week of nightly BJs for each box of bullets their boyfriends turn over.

The MAJORITY of the children of good conservative Castro-hating children voted for Obama.

That’s a half-life of a single generation for Constitutional values undone by the public school system.

They will use indoctrination, lawfare and media, not warfare, to disarm us. There will never be the need for a Waco-like confrontation.

The 10% of the kooky 2A-fans who will actually private- or home-school their kids will be marginalized in the marketplace. Finding it increasingly difficult to enter universities to get non-humanities degrees, student loans, jobs, some of our kids will surrender and compromise.

We’re not going to get an opportunity to go down fighting.

Stick a fork in the greatest human experiment in liberty. It’s over. We’re riding the momentum until it drains out completely. The human natural condition is to live as subjects. We’re returning to that and the Founding Fathers will be increasingly portrayed in our schools as unenlightened villains.

It took less than a quarter century for Britain to devolve from an empire upon which the sun never set into a military backwater that would have needed to learn German if North American hadn’t been forced to enter WWII.

The big difference between the American Revolution and today, as well as between WWI and today is the ability of government to monitor what we’re doing. England needed weeks to mobilize troops an ocean away. By WWI, that was reduced drastically. Between drones and Google, and the NSA monitoring our every communication, there will be NO opportunity to resist.

If I was advising the Muslims, I’d counsel against any attack which causes more than 100 casualties to the West, a threshold so small that we won’t respond militarily. They can wait out the clock. Soon, one of the nuclear European countries will HAVE to have an active Muslim high in their defense infrastructure. The secularists of Europe and the Americas will turn our children into moral and physical veal.

Our only hope is that there is someone impatient from the other side who will reveal their hand. But if they’re patient and willing to continue a war of paper-cuts and lawfare… we WILL lose within 3-4 generations, if not sooner.

Threats to secede are posturing. Texas will turn blue by 2024, 2028 at the latest, and with that, the Electoral College will become permanently blue. This will be due to a combination of GOP (Reagan, Bush and Perry) weak border policies and the influx of blue-state refugees seeking employment in Texas.
