Who’d Have Thunk???

In a completely unpredictable development, it appears that the Mooselimb Sisterhood is becoming quite the power player in post-Mubarak Egypt now that the freedom-loving rabble has done the hard work for them.

It’s almost as if they stepped into a power vacuum after a popular protest because they (and the military, that they’re now working with) were the only one with the organization to do so.

As a matter of fact, it’s almost as if everything in Egypt has happened EXACTLY THE WAY HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY SAID IT WOULD FROM THE FIRST DAY while “cooler and more pragmatic heads” to whom we should all pay attention were tut-tutting and wagging their fingers, assuring all and sundry that this was a popular protest that would not, in any shape form or fashion, lead to pisslamic fundamentalists muscling in on control of yet another middle eastern nation.

Have we told you lately how tiresome it is to be right all the bloody time?

It’s very, very tiresome, particularly when all we have to show for it is several thousand sets of shredded We Told You So drums because it seems to be so much more fashionable to stick your head in the sand and listen to clownshits who haven’t been right for one single solitary moment in their entire lives.

Not that we’re bitter. We’ll just go cut another notch.

Right again, predictably.

Thatisall.

It is funny, but the only people who seem to be making such a big deal (possibly blowing it up out of proportion) appears to be all of the Right-wing echo chambers, with their “be afraid, be very afraid” messaging.

What’s with the caveat “possibly blowing it up out of proportion”?

Either “all of the Right-wing echo chambers” are correct in “making such a big deal” out of this or they aren’t.

Way to play both sides of the fence :em99: .

I can’t say that I have ever found more people so bloody afraid of everything as I do now.

    From March 2003…

Saddam faces problems in the north from the Kurds and in the south from Shi’ites. He does not want any problem with the Sunni population, which up until now has been stable and in his favor.

Beyond Iraq, the Muslim Brotherhood is also gaining strength. This correspondent was in Jordan, for example, when the Islamic Action Front declared a jihad in favor of Iraq and Palestine if the US attacks Iraq. In Jordan’s capital, Amman and elsewhere in the country, despite the existence of a clearly pro-US monarchy, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Action Front are registering volunteers at colleges and universities to go and fight against the US in Iraq and against Israel in Palestine.

Any war against Iraq, then, is likely to further strengthen the hand of the Muslim Brotherhood across the region in general, and within Iraq in particular, making them yet another complicating factor in the post-Saddam world.

Professors speak about their now-open war against Christianity, and exactly how they plan to strip students of their “vile ideas.”

They’re not even bothering to lie about their intentions any more. And yes, Secularism is a rival belief system.

    Sample.

Richard Rorty (d. 2007) in describing his assessment of the role of university professor wrote: “When we American college teachers encounter religious fundamentalists, we do not consider the possibility of reformulating our own practices of justification so as to give more weight to the authority of the Christian scriptures. Instead, we do our best to convince these students of the benefits of secularization.”

The re-education imperative is one that he, “like most Americans who teach humanities or social science in colleges and universities, invoke when we try to arrange things so that students who enter as bigoted, homophobic, religious fundamentalists will leave college with views more like our own.”

Rorty explains to the “fundamentalist” parents of his students: “We are going to go right on trying to discredit you in the eyes of your children, trying to strip your fundamentalist religious community of dignity, trying to make your views seem silly rather than discussable.”

He helpfully explains that “I think those students are lucky to find themselves under the benevolent Herrschaft [domination] of people like me, and to have escaped the grip of their frightening, vicious, dangerous parents.”

Fitting that Rotten Rorty, bigot extraordinaire, uses a German term to describe this fascist program.

History does seem to have a tendency to repeat itself. Sometimes a people makes bad decisions when left to their own devices. The 20th century was full of examples, not least my own fatherland. More often than not people do not choose liberty but tyranny. It is sad, but a fact.

On first sight, one might be inclined to shrug this off as simply one more step in the evolution of cultures. One might believe that peoples simply need to make that mistake and be forced to endure a certain period of tyranny in order for them to advance towards democracy and liberty.

But the 20th century has also taught us that simply sitting on the side lines when other people make such choices can be a very dangerous decision. It is fine for us to leave them alone to find their own way but we need to make it absolutely crystal clear that

    a) our highest priority are our own interests
    b) we still are the biggest dog in the yard

Let them find their own way out of the mess that their own culture had no small part in creating, but stand ready and vigilant to nuke anybody who might feel emboldened to threaten us.

Isolationism or idle spectatorship are not the answers to the current situation.

Anyone with a working brain could have foreseen this in Egypt. Look for more of the same in Lybia.
We drove the Taliban from Ashcanistan, and the new, “democratic” government installed an Islamic Theocratic State.
We drove the Baathists from Iraq, and the new, “democratic” government installed an Islamic Theocratic State.
Now with Egypt. This is the pattern of Islamic “democracy”. Democracy is only taqqiya for the establishment of Sharia.
There can be no true democracy under Islam, for Islam admits no validity to secular law, or the rights of individuals.
All is “submission” to the letter of Sharia. Submission, and freedom are mutually exclusive.

The final versions of the bill were posted online for weeks prior to the vote.

Really? Someone better clue Pelosi in on this. As far as your “posted online for weeks” that is bullshit. While all of the elements for the bill may have been online in seperate pieces, the final product was NOT posted for weeks. The reason why they weren’t, is because if they had been, the Republicans would have analyzed and then ripped to shreds the piece of shit. So they had to do the sneaky routine.

    DJ Allyn, ITW says:

I know that you probably go head blind into every thing you do, but to take some time out and actually look before you leap is sometimes a good thing. Especially if you are going to commit 50 thousand or so ground troops into a combat situation.

I think it was right around 90 days while Bama “contemplated” the generals request. Thats excessive in any environment and damn near criminal when we are talking about a combat environment. (Its that whole battlefield fluidity thing, or should I say “kinetic”)

    DJ Allyn, ITW says:

The law requires that the President be transported on Air Force One no matter where he goes, and he is to be accompanied by any and all security as the Secret Service requires. A lot of what you consider “vacations” are mostly business first. Most of the actual “vacations” are paid for by either the Obamas or others.

    :em01:
Now thats some funny shit right there. Who are the “others” that pay for “most” of the vacations? Where are the documents showing Obama paying out of pocket for the vacations?

Remember Michelle Obama’s “modern-day Marie Antoinette” trip to Spain?

    Yep..

The big “scandal” was over who paid for such a “lavish”vacation that required 60 rooms at a posh hotel..

Actually, the “big scandal” was the blatant hypocrisy in Obongo telling the country to make sacrifices and be “frugal” while his wife and her friends went on an expensive vacation.

When it was all said and done, it turns out that it was the Obamas and the friends who travelled with them who paid for the trip.

    Oh really?

Other than vague assurances by White House mouthpieces that the Obamas and their “friends” paid for the trip, nobody knows who paid for what.

Also, what about Mrs. Obongo’s (and her friends) side trip to Majorca to visit the Spanish royal family?

That was deemed “official” and therefore all expenses including food and accommodations were on the taxpayers.

Only the transportation and security was paid for by the taxpayer.

Even if that statement were true, you and the Left-wing bobbleheads make it sound as if the cost of transportation and security is virtually nothing.

Never mind that the country is deeply in debt and the taxpayers are struggling to pay their bills.

After all, it’s just one of those “sacrifices” that Obongo requires of the taxpayers.
