   It is funny, but the only people who seem to be making such a big deal (possibly blowing it up out of proportion) appears to be all of the Right-wing echo chambers, with their “be afraid, be very afraid” messaging.

   Any war against Iraq, then, is likely to further strengthen the hand of the Muslim Brotherhood across the region in general, and within Iraq in particular, making them yet another complicating factor in the post-Saddam world.

    History does seem to have a tendency to repeat itself. Sometimes a people makes bad decisions when left to their own devices. The 20th century was full of examples, not least my own fatherland. More often than not people do not choose liberty but tyranny. It is sad, but a fact.

    On first sight, one might be inclined to shrug this off as simply one more step in the evolution of cultures. One might believe that peoples simply need to make that mistake and be forced to endure a certain period of tyranny in order for them to advance towards democracy and liberty.

    But the 20th century has also taught us that simply sitting on the side lines when other people make such choices can be a very dangerous decision. It is fine for us to leave them alone to find their own way but we need to make it absolutely crystal clear that

    a) our highest priority are our own interests
    b) we still are the biggest dog in the yard

    Let them find their own way out of the mess that their own culture had no small part in creating, but stand ready and vigilant to nuke anybody who might feel emboldened to threaten us.

    Isolationism or idle spectatorship are not the answers to the current situation.

    The big “scandal” was over who paid for such a “lavish”vacation that required 60 rooms at a posh hotel..

    Actually, the “big scandal” was the blatant hypocrisy in Obongo telling the country to make sacrifices and be “frugal” while his wife and her friends went on an expensive vacation.

    When it was all said and done, it turns out that it was the Obamas and the friends who travelled with them who paid for the trip.

    Oh really?

    Other than vague assurances by White House mouthpieces that the Obamas and their “friends” paid for the trip, nobody knows who paid for what.

    Also, what about Mrs. Obongo’s (and her friends) side trip to Majorca to visit the Spanish royal family?

    That was deemed “official” and therefore all expenses including food and accommodations were on the taxpayers.

    Only the transportation and security was paid for by the taxpayer.

    Even if that statement were true, you and the Left-wing bobbleheads make it sound as if the cost of transportation and security is virtually nothing.

    Never mind that the country is deeply in debt and the taxpayers are struggling to pay their bills.

    After all, it’s just one of those “sacrifices” that Obongo requires of the taxpayers.
