Graveside at the Last Resting Place of the GOP

Jackboot’s apt obituary for the feckless GOP set me to thinking, which means everyone has to suffer. Buck up, and put your reading glasses on.

It has become clear that the window of opportunity for averting real and transformational crisis has been missed. The GOP we have needed for the last two decades has simply failed to materialize. Strayed from the path of principle and become trapped in the psychedelic haze and endless reverb of Beltway-bound hallucinations. The present administration takes steps daily and makes plans to enact legislation that will accelerate the fundamental instabilities in our economy and society, putting a course correction as a solution to our problems effectively out of reach of the democratic process. Sorry. This option has been eliminated.

The events of the present have been a long time in the making. The rancid corruption of our public school system has been taking place slowly over at least the last 30 years, with huge implications for the cultural memory of American values and the fundamental quality of independent thinking in our young adults and the generations that follow them. At the same time, the vast majority of the mainstream media apparatus has been gradually taken over by statists bent on serving as the public relations arm of the NSDWP. The impact of these two huge shifts taken together has massively altered politics in this country, yet most still do not see them for what they are; the GOP refuses to grasp the extent of these shifts, and will not develop strategy to address the root causes of them. Yet the truth remains. A massive media complex willing to manipulate the message to serve a corrupt ideology coupled with a large and growing population prepared to accept this overt indoctrination as unvarnished truth.

We have become trapped in this unreality by statists convinced they are solving problems caused by an excess of freedom, and completely unable to understand that the problems they seek to use government to solve were caused by too much of the government they revere in the first place. Indeed, all suffering inflicted upon people by society has been the result of bad government, a truth confirmed even by a casual relationship with history. Envy, insecurity and self-loathing is the source of the pain these people struggle to erase through increasing control over society. The effort is the grandest fool’s errand of all time, and has always been, throughout history, every time it’s attempted.

We have become the Ouroboros. Absent a miracle cure for these two metastasizing cancers and their side-effects devouring our culture, we will continue down this path until the last so-called rich person has been eaten by the fascist state, and the decaying beast collapses upon itself, parasites fleeing in every direction. From this carcass, with luck, a few of us remain, and with memory of the principles that once served us, we will arise, and point the way back to liberty.

Well put. I agree completely. I figure in the next 4 years the Republican Party will cease to exist except in name only. Those in it will either move so far to the left they will more resemble the Democratic Party, or they will be run out of the party for not making that move. Some have already begun selling out.

My only hope (and it’s a dark one) is that the American collapse will happen sooner rather than later, while there are still those willing and able to fight back (and guns are still privately owned). We’re about to enter the dark times.

Well put my friend. Implicit in the concept of the Ouroboros is the renewal at the end of what is and was before. Once the ashes have cooled freedom again will rise like the Phoenix and perhaps another lesson will be added to the history books, panem et circenses left unchecked by the balance of civil society’s mores always leads to destruction. The Romans learned that lesson good and hard and the world was worse for it. Look at the millenia following the collapse of Rome. All the advances of Rome in engineering, sciences and government by consensus were lost. Rome had running water toilets. 300 years later we were back to throwing human waste into the streets. Fresh, clean water was available to every Roman citizen, during the many plagues faced by Europe, contaminated water was the culprit. As the U.S. falls much more than our Republic fails, especially the Middle East that is frozen in the 12th Century never having re-learned what the great societies that came before knew.

Not necessarily my friend. The armed citizen may very well be the last bastion of civilization, he alone might be able to mitigate the entry into dark times and maintain hopefully, the vast majority of our civilization in North America for the last 2 or 3 centuries. The average Roman citizen was not armed as it was never thought that the Rubicon would be crossed. Once the Empire collapsed (rapid decay might be a more apt term) they were divided and scattered among the strongest associations, setting off endless wars for dominance by those that acquired the most weapons fastest.

It is damn near impossible to fight against perception and the social indoctrination of 2 generations into the liberal / progressive fold via our schools. There are many conservatives in the ‘let it burn’ camp, and I count myself among those, but with a much different view and hope for that outcome as it relates to the future of our Republic.

Our current society, and this includes many among us are conditioned to expect instant results. We are the product of a society that is in hyper-speed; we are not conditioned to wait for anything. We have instant news and information, instant credit and money. We have cars and jets to move us instantly to where we want to go. There are super markets full of food, gas stations full of gas, banks full of money, and stores full of toys. With the twist of the thermostat, our homes or offices are made comfortable, when we flick the switch, the lights come on.

My biggest problem with the ‘let it burn’ crowd is not one of necessity; I do believe that things must necessarily get worse before they can get better. My problem is with peoples expectations of outcome, and the time involved. Both of these factors must be considered realistically if there is to be any hope for the future of our Nation and our posterity.

The time factor is critical, and we ignore it at our peril, or to be more specific, at the peril of our future generations. Speaking metaphorically, if the house of State is to burn, we haven’t even struck the match yet. I am 46 years old, and I rather doubt I will even be alive when the real fire starts. The United States is not going to fall like a house of cards, and the politicians in Washington and across the world will be furiously trying to keep that fire from starting. They will be somewhat successful, but what cannot be sustained will eventually fall. We will be long gone by that time. Just as it took generations to create the mess we are in, so it will take generations for it to burn and generations more for our Nation to rise from those ashes, if that is even possible. The grand experiment our founders began a little over 200 years ago was and is unique in world history, a history that spans thousands of years. If we are to do our part to preserve that dream for our future generations, we must take a long view, and concentrate on things we can do that will make a real difference to the preservation of our society in the future, not necessarily right now. People aren’t going to just vote for republicans in 2014 and 2016, and even if they do, it will not matter in the long run. That is kind of like being diagnosed with lung cancer, and taking the sensible step of quitting cigarettes; a good idea, and helpful, but the cancer still remains.

The fire of freedom may be extinguished, but the embers of liberty, true liberty continue to smolder hot. It is those embers we must preserve, in our hearts, and those of our future generations. Those embers are more precious than any gun, or ammunition, or any other preperations you may have made. Teach your children, teach your neighbors. Do not waste your efforts trying to effect the trajectory of the tyranny to come, just to replace it with a softer form of the chains it represents. Make sure those embers live on, for they represent the future of our great Nation, and they key for it’s re-birth after the fire.

It’s a common misconception that decay killed the Roman Empire. It wounded it, yet it had been bouncing back — Islam was the nail in the coffin for the Roman Empire. Hopefully it’s not the nail in OUR coffin, too.

It may rot slow, but when the final collapse comes, it will be with a terrifying speed and potency. I would argue we have been rotting since the civil war. As to the “speed of the burn” that depends entirely on us the serfs, and how quickly we want to burn it all down.

If we take the slow road to hell – like Greece and Mexico have, for example, yes, there will not be anyone of us left alive by the time Leviathan dies. And none of our descendants will have the slightest notion of what freedom and liberty looks like – the “phoenix” they rise from the ashes will be a statist commonwealth of the kind they had became accustomed too.

We pretty much have to choose – act decisively, and in relatively short order, or sit back and accept the chains our “betters” are looking to clamp around the ankles of our children and grandchildren. The long game is lost to us, and only guarantees that whatever crawls out of our collapse 50-60 years from now is a disgusting, socialist monstrosity, that our descendants, having no true notion of freedom, will eagerly support.

And they will blame US, the conservatives and the patriots – for the fall of Behemoth. The history books, when the slow rot finally crashes things, will paint all of us the villain. We lost after all – and the losers don’t write the history books. The children won’t be taught about the profligate spending, the unsustainable social programs, the corruptions, the stealing of elections – no. They will be taught about how it all came apart due to those evil, obstructionists that would not cooperate.

They will bring our civilization to ruin, and then blame those that tried to save it for the deed. Through the culture and schools they control, they will teach our own descendants to curse our names.

You say “Hell no!” And I say… well then… what do you intend to do about it?

Its our call and the when is now. Waiting just gives them more time to rot out the children’s minds, and while we might be able to shield our family from some of it, it’s a pervasive barrage from every angle – we can’t protect them 24/7, and even if we can, that’s not stopping the other 70% of the population that’s willingly and happily allowing themselves to be brainwashed.

Each generation is a pale facsimile of the one that proceeded it. I know I stand before God a shadow of the great man that was my father.

On the subject of “our political party:”

The whigs vanished in less than a decade. In this day and age, the Republicans can go faster. And good riddance to bad rubbish. Every single time the dice-roll REALLY meant something – every single chance in the last 100 years the Republicans REALLY had to change our trajectory – they collapsed. They threw the game. They wiffed – on 15 yard field goals when down by two, with 5 seconds left on the clock.

    EVERY.
    SINGLE.
    TIME.

Once is a coincidence. Twice is a bad streak. Every time for a century, is damn intentional.

    Just ask John Roberts.

Indeed, these last 100 years (since Teddy Roosevelt and his influence), we have been slowly increasing in our downhill acceleration. To the point where we now “break mach” and lose control, breaking apart and crashing. I do not, however, believe we are necessarily doomed. I have the feeling that there is coming “enlightenment to the masses”, and as has happened before in our political history we will save it. But the first thing that must happen is that awakening. And with life having been as easy as it has, the welfare class must find out how shit works when there is none left to tax for their support.

The Republican mindset is that of the overindulgent parent who will do anything to make the rotten spoiled child disturbing his pleasures to shut up and give him leave to that pleasure but without the will to spank the brat and force it to become a competent adult or put it out of the home to accept the rigors of real life. Ignorance, indolence, incompetence, and above all, infantile attitudes drive the polity of the West. Another factor is that unskilled manufacturing sector which decamping the far East. So the middle class Conservative who knows better now has no possibility of making it having been whipsawed by the weenie electorate who hates his betters because delivering pizzas doesn’t put enough in their pockets to facilitate the life style they demand at the expense of the rest of us. The simple fact is we are toast because American Manhood is no more. The days when fathers kicked their sons in the ass and forced them to survive by their own wits disappeared in the 50′s when you could still live decently if you were basically literate and could balance your checkbook. No More. And never again while we live. We are the last generation the leftist cabal has to worry about and they know it.

The “masses” won’t wake from their delusions when the looters and their commissars run America into the ground. No. The demagogues will demand that we conservatives all be punished – flogged further, destroyed as traitors – it is we who shall be blamed for the catastrophe.

And they will get away with it. Our own grandchildren will march us to the gallows.

Look up the “Jeckeln Method” aka “Sardine Packing”. It’s pretty efficient for cleaning out local areas. They’ll come up with something similar, since burning isn’t exactly Gaia-friendly.

The Republicans are their own worst enemy. Theat are all bluster and no backbone – or as it is said in Texas: “All hat and no cattle.”
They talk a good story but rarely follow through because they are ruled by the Rockefeller Republicans – A.K.A. the RINOS. The Republican Party MUST go the way of the Whigs. They have out lived their usefulness and are no longer good for the country. It is time the the Party was disbanded and the RINOS shunned so that they go where they belong. It is time for a third party – I would like to see it called the Constitutional Party. Its platform should be built of strictly Constitutional based Concepts and Principles, Original Intent, Liberty and Freedom FROM an over reaching government.

I have changed my voter registration party affiliation and no longer am associated with either major party. I will not vote for or support a candidate from either party unless I am thoroughly convinced they support the Constitution as Originally Intended and Conceived and that they support the Liberty and Freedom of the Individual. Otherwise they can just kiss my rosy red buttocks.

The first REAL attempt at organizing a third party that comes along, that honestly and aggressively challenges the Business As Usual Parties currently in control of the country, I pledge I will join and actively participate and support with my energy and modest monetary assets.

After 41 years of voting and 20+ years of actively monitoring and discussing the activities of Washington, DC pols, I formally and completely give up on the current process. It is my opinion that our Government is broken beyond all repair. There are too many crooks and too few people of conscience and integrity within the system. And too many Sheeple that insist that it is their government’s purpose and obligation to take care of them, when in reality, the ONLY thing government is Constitutionally OBLIGATED to do for the Individual is to GUARANTEE individual Freedom and Liberty. Period. The thing is the defense of this nation is one of the few things the government is supposed to do as written in the constitution. Not pay peoples student loans, give illegals drivers licenses or pay for their schooling and hospital bills. Not provide the means for a way of life for someone who is unwilling to work for it themselves. Not to print money to keep big business donors afloat. Not to provide union workers with jobs by taking our money to give to failing businesses and on and on. I want a government that keeps the lights on in the house and stays out of my way unless I break the law period!!!!

I can no longer support either party in any way, shape, or form. NOR WILL I!

All of the GOP talking heads, and the GOP elite are trying to convince everyone that this is the only hope for Conservatives…to not be conservative. Instead just be a “lighter” version of a socialist progressive.

Since we’re not doing such a good job at taking over the GOP and turning it conservative, maybe its time to think seriously about a 3rd party.
A new Conservative Party AND a Conservative States of America.
Conservative Christians — all God-fearing people of this Republic, will forever be struggling with the evil of the commie Left. Being ruled by these people is un-Godly, and much of the time perverse.
