His Imperial Majesty has to admit that when news broke of General Petraeus’ peccadilloes, he felt a bit like he felt when he found out that Sammy Sosa had been using a corked bat. Only worse. Because His Sith Majesty is a huge fanboi when it comes to GEN Petraeus. Yes, we admit it, and we’re proud. The way he handled the Surge was masterful. He took a rapidly degrading clusterfuck and, in a matter of months, if not weeks, turned it into a smashing success.

So when we found out that he’d been going strange, which is something that His Sith Lordness finds absolutely despicable, we felt quite down in the dumps. No denying it. Betraying the trust of those closest to you isn’t something you can just explain away. The fact that we know that emotions, although the very heart of what makes us strong (screw the pacifist nonsense), can be disastrous masters if we allow them to control us rather than harness their power under our control is no excuse. Wrong is wrong.

So we were not overly optimistic when we heard that he was going to testify because, well, he’d failed us once, who’s to say he wouldn’t follow his baser instincts there as well and end up covering for the criminal Ogabe Junta?

We’ll say that he’s redeemed himself a bit now, however (h/t American Power):

Until Friday, there were two possible explanations for why the White House failed to immediately call the Benghazi attack an act of terrorism. One was incompetence, the other was worse.

Now there is only one, and it is the worse one.

As anybody with the ability to add two and two and get four at least half of the time could have told you months ago.

Based on the persuasive testimony of ex-CIA boss David Petraeus, it is clear the Obama administration made a deliberate decision to mislead Congress and the American people.

The repeated claim that the attack was spontaneous and grew out of a demonstration against an anti-Islam video — a claim made by the president and secretary of State as they stood next to the bodies of four dead Americans — was a monstrous lie. It was vile and done for the basest of reasons.

Because we now know the truth of what happened — CIA reports were edited to remove the names of al Qaeda groups involved in the attack, Petraeus said under oath — we also know the motive. It was political self-preservation, meaning the president and his team put politics first.

And the EneMedia, the Ogabe Propaganda Ministry, are just as guilty in perpetrating this lie, because if they’d bothered, just for a bit, to do their actual jobs rather than mindlessly fellating their Chocolate Jeebus, he wouldn’t have been able to pull it off.

The timing helps tell the tale. Just days removed from his Charlotte convention, where he danced on the grave of Osama bin Laden and boasted that al Qaeda was decimated, Obama couldn’t bear to admit that affiliated groups were thriving in North Africa. And he certainly couldn’t admit they had carried out a murderous attack on our consulate on the 11th anniversary of the most awful day in American history.

To do so would be to acknowledge the failure of his decision to ignore hard-line Islamists and that his team had erred egregiously in rejecting pleas for more security from Libya Ambassador Chris Stevens.

So the president lied, including in a speech to the United Nations, where he cited the video as the reason for the attack. He sent out reams of flunkies to do the same, including his snide press secretary, Jay Carney.

Most notably, UN Ambassador Susan Rice went on five Sunday television shows to spin the nonsense about the hijacking of a demonstration — a demonstration that never existed. Rice made a fool of herself, and now, she, too is damaged goods.

What? You RAAAAACIST! And did we mention SEXIST!!!!? Because those are the only reasons that anybody questions a word that the Minority Human Shield of the Day, Susan Rice, is saying, has ever said or will ever say for the rest of her life (as long as she remains useful to the regime, of course). Even as we speak, the “intelligentsia” of the GOP, Rove et al, are writing up the surrender papers, apologizing most profusely for having ever as much as said “hello” to somebody who might have questioned Saint Susan’s Most Holy Word, because only by constantly surrendering to our enemies can we truly WIN!

We’d say “fuck them” at this point, but somehow it doesn’t quite do it justice. We’ll have to come up with something better. Give us time. You know we’ll get there.

Oddly, Petraeus, brought down by the reckless affair with his biographer, nonetheless looks like the only honest man in the drama.

A briefing he gave soon after the attack is now more suspect because it adhered to the party line, despite his belief that it was always a terrorist attack.

Not really all that hard to explain, if one uses one’s brains.

Think about it. Even if you don’t know how cloak and dagger games and power politics work, we know that the FBI knew about GEN Petraeus’ affair for a long time, since they were investigating it based on a cat fight between his mistress and some other floozy, and they knew it even before he got the position as CIA Director. Now, of course, if you’re the kind of Very Special Retard™ who’d believe that this somehow didn’t make it to the Ogabe Junta and Ogabe himself, then it ends there but, then again, if you’re that stupid you’re not reading this since you can’t read in the first place.

And Ogabe and his henchmen needed a “win”, a “reach out” moment, they’re always valuable, and now they had the perfect candidate for the CIA. Somebody that was widely respected on the other side, somebody with stature, and somebody they had something on so they could control him. That’s why any nation worth a damn includes looking into stuff like that prior to giving people top level clearances, because it means that an individual has a weak spot. But if you’re the only one knowing about it, then it’s an asset. So he became CIA Director, and you can rest assured that when the Benghazi clusterfuck came around and they needed some cover, they let GEN Petraeus know that they knew.

Which makes it not at all hard to understand why he might decide to play along with the “terrorists were not terrorists, they were just a bunch of disgruntled muslims angry about a YouTube video who just happened to have pre-ranged mortars available and just happened to make an invasion of U.S. soil an sodomize and murder a U.S. Ambassador on the anniversary of 9/11. All just coincidence, you know. A Code Pink demonstration gone awfully and unpredictably bad” story.

“You say that, it will calm things down with the public for a bit while we hit the perpetrators back, not knowing that they’re in our cross-hairs, and we’ll continue to pretend that we never heard of you getting some on the side with that Broadwell chick. No harm, no foul. We lull the enemy into a sense of false security while we prepare to murderize them to hell and back, and nobody need ever know that you’re an adulterer.”

It’s not hard to imagine how an otherwise honorable man might buy that. His idiotic fling was over and was best left unknown, it’s not unusual or even immoral to throw a false flag at your enemy so you can hit him when he’s not looking, so why not?

Then the Ogabe Junta made a big mistake. As news trickled out about the non-response to the attack on our Ambassador, they needed a scapegoat to cover up their own treasonous activities, and they decided that the CIA should be the fall guy, expecting that GEN Petraeus, already compromised (in for a penny, in for a pound), would play along. Dumb. In response, he issued a clear, unambiguous statement that the order to stand down had absolutely nothing to do with his agency. He wasn’t about to let his guys take the fall for something they didn’t do.

And then the affair, “suddenly”, became known. Not sure how or why that happened, we wouldn’t be surprised if GEN Petraeus himself was behind it because the thing about blackmail is that it only works as long as the threat hasn’t been realized. Once something is public knowledge, you can’t use it as leverage against somebody anymore by threatening to make it public. Or it could just be, and this is equally likely, given the track record of our current incompetent, corrupt, lying, treasonous, vindictive regime, that they just leaked it to get revenge on him for not playing along.

Regardless of how it came about, it set him free. The cat was out of the bag and he could now speak the truth without worrying about the situation getting worse as a result.

We didn’t know, although we certainly hoped, based on his history, whether he would use that freedom to just get it all out there, but he did.

And, as a result, we now have incontrovertible proof that the Ogabe Junta lied from the moment the Benghazi Massacre happened, that they falsified evidence to make themselves look better in an election year, that they left American heroes to die without lifting a finger to help them and that they used blackmail and G-d knows what else to get away with it. Watergate is nothing compared to this. They are all criminals, as are their EneMedia sycophants and they should be arrested, tried, and executed for treason.

We’d say that GEN Petraeus’ testimony, his final confronting his own demons and coming clean, goes a long way to redeem him. It does not excuse his affair, his betrayal of his family, that is for them to work out, but we are glad to see that he found his integrity again and the path back to the man that we suspect that he always was.

May he stay on that path, and may he find a way to correct the wrongs that he’s done. He’s taken a big step on that road already.

Thatisall.
