We’re all going to die…Liberals and EBT cardholders hit hardest

As I sit here in NoVA, waiting for a bitch named Sandy, and watching Geraldo Rivera with his charts and maps you could be forgiven for believing he’s plotting the next campaign for the Grande Armée.  So far MWATA has shut down METRO and the Federal Government is closed, and as Martha would say “That’s a good thing.”

Another thing that I’ve noticed is that, except for the Libtard Governor of Maryland O’Malley, all the other State Governors have told Obongo to fuck off and stay the fuck out of their AOs.  Again “That’s a good thing.”  They know full well that anything Obongo the Kenyon Klingon Fucker™ touches turns to instant shit and the last thing they need is having his merry band of fuck ups anywhere near them.

So I will update my porn library, download a couple of new books for Kindle and ensure the liquor cache is set, all weapons are zeroed and loaded and range cards posted and await the invasion with steel in my heart.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.

I hope that Sandy absolutely demolishes DC, Philly, NYC, Boston and every other NE lib enclave – I know that all the Rotties & other good folks there will be prepared and do just fine. Maybe Mother Nature will thin the fiddy-twoers out a bit.

We’re moderately well prepared on the South East coast of Connecticut. I’ve checked the topographical maps and our house is at 20 feet, so we should be OK. In spite of the worst predictions I’m seeing, it does seem like they really aren’t expecting winds much over 40mph, so we might lose some glass to flying debris. As long as the neighbor’s willow tree remains standing and doesn’t shed too many branches, we should be OK. Though I’m actually in Vermont at a conference. They’re a little nervous here in Woodstock because this area got pummeled last year by Irene. A lot of bridges are still out, though most of route 12 between 91 and Woodstock is all nice and shiny and new.

So the family has water and food for themselves and the critters. We aren’t in the evacuation area (that’s a few blocks away down the hill nearer the inlet), and if the power stays out too long, we can head over to my parents’, who won’t have power either, but do have a gas stove and fireplace, as well as a pond to get water for the toilets.

Actually, water is my real concern because our water treatment plant is in that area that they expect to be hit by the storm surge. As long as we can flush toilets it won’t be too bad, and hopefully my husband picked up enough water and other beverages.

Of course this should all make returning home Tuesday afternoon when the conference is over …. interesting. I suspect I may end up with another night in Woodstock. I can recommend the Woodstocker Inn. Friendly folks, a nice library, and tonight I’m the only guest. I suspect I may be the only one tomorrow, and if I do need to stay another night, they have vacancies, as long as they still have power.

Seriously though, good luck. Having been through several hurricanes myself, including Katrina, I know how scary it can be.
With the propensity of the LSM to sensationalize I have a feeling this one is overhyped. I hope so anyway, for the sake of the people in its path. Flooding is going to be pretty extensive even if it is.

I was never happier than last night when the Fed decided to shut down and my office announced work from home. This area is buttoned up tighter than a drum, and I had most of my prep done Saturday and all of it done by Sunday morning here near Fort Meade, MD. I live in a townhouse, the complex is on high ground for the area, and there are no trees in physical reach of my house or car. My biggest concern is flooding – no backup for the sump pump, so I’ll make do with UPS’es and hope for the best!

Must applaud the Melting Pot last night – ended up there for dinner with a friend I hadn’t seen in years. They had a drink special just for last night called the Frankenstorm – it was a Hurricane with a shot of Midori in it, and it was a really tasty little asskicker of a drink. None of us left sober XD

That’s illustrative of the choice in this election.
Romney uses his own resources and marshals voluntary help from others while Ogabe promises to send in the government while not making any effort himself.

I’m trying to decide whether it’s a smart campaign strategy – these are blue states mostly, but a personal act of charity sticks with people for a long time – or the move of a genuinely good guy. I think there’s a little of both in there. It’s the right thing to do and it can’t hurt his political image to do so, and it might just help. I have to applaud both the move itself for its charity and the political and people smarts that it shows.

AUTO BAILOUT BOMBSHELL: Fiat Says Chrysler, Jeep Production May Move to Italy
Submitted by Mark Modica on Tue, 10/29/2012 – 10:53

Coming hot on the heels of speculation that some Jeep production may be moved to China comes a bombshell from a Bloomberg report. Fiat is now considering moving Chrysler and Jeep production to Italy.

According to the piece, “To counter the severe slump in European sales, (Fiat CEO Sergio) Marchionne is considering building Chrysler models in Italy, including Jeeps, for export to North America. The Italian government is evaluating tax rebates on export goods to help Fiat. Marchionne may announce details of his plan as soon as Oct. 30, the people said.”

So, let’s be real clear here, we are talking about vehicles that will be built in Italy and exported to America. The evidence is clear that Fiat is looking at ways to move production of vehicles from the US to elsewhere, whether it be China or Italy, costing American jobs. This is becoming indisputable, despite outcries from certain parties to the contrary.

Mitt Romney has rightfully criticized the Obama Administration for handing over Chrysler to the Italians and now leaving the fate of American workers in the hands of Fiat management. Fiat is not a healthy company and the auto industry is in as great a risk as ever. The insistence that all is well by those with political motivations does not mask the danger. More jobs are at risk of being lost and more taxpayer money may be lost as well.

Let’s face it, the auto bailouts were not well thought out. Perhaps General Motors’ CEO, Dan Akerson, said it best when he said, “The good thing about our bankruptcy is that it took only 39 days. The bad news is that bankruptcy took only 39 days. If we had been there longer, people would have asked these questions and looked at these things.”

The whole auto industry bailout process was rushed through with the wrong primary motivation of protecting the politically powerful UAW’s interests. The Obama Administration never considered that giving Chrysler to Fiat was not a great idea and could eventually hurt the same UAW workers it was trying to protect. Manufacturers like Chrysler and GM are at a competitive disadvantage due to UAW obligations that were not properly addressed in the bankruptcy process. The industry is more competitive than ever and the government does not seem to be the best innovators to lead the sector to real health. This truth is very likely to become more apparent when the political season ends.

WASHINGTON – Using a Pakistani Internet Protocol, or IP address, a disposable credit card and a fake address, “Osama bin Laden” has successfully donated twice to Barack Obama’s presidential re-election campaign.

The “Bin Laden” donations, actually made by WND staff, included a listed occupation of “deceased terror chief” and a stated employer of “al-Qaida.”

“Bin Laden” is currently set up on the official campaign website to contribute more to Obama’s campaign. The name is also registered as a volunteer.

Since the “foreign” contribution was sent, “Bin Laden’s” email address has received several solicitations from Obama’s campaign asking for more donations.

Incredible 1-day offer: Get Aaron Klein’s “Fool Me Twice” for only $4.95! The New York Times bestseller called most important book of election season

The apparently foreign-based contributions were conducted as a test after a flurry of media reports described the ability of foreigners to donate to the Obama campaign but not to Mitt Romney’s site, which has placed safeguards against such efforts.

The acceptance of foreign contributions is strictly illegal under U.S. campaign finance law.

One $15 donation was made at BarackObama.com using a confirmed Pakistani IP address. In other words, as far as the campaign website was concerned, the donation was openly identified electronically as coming from Pakistan.

Upon clicking the “donate” button, WND staff selected the $15 amount and were taken to a page on the campaign website asking for a first and last name, city, state, zip code, email address and phone number.

The information submitted was: “Osama bin Laden, 911 Jihad Way, Abbottabad, CA 91101.”

While the website only has options for U.S. states and zip codes, there is no mechanism in place on Obama’s website to verify the individual is actually located in that state or zip code, or even in the U.S.

The Obama campaign refuses to release the identification of donors who give less than $200

In the case of this donation, the 91101 zip code is real but corresponds to Pasadena, Calif., and not Abbottabad, the Pakistani city in which bin Laden was found holed up in a compound.

For a requested phone number, WND inputted the White House information line of (202) 456-2121.

The email address used to set up the donation account was osama4obama2012@gmail.com.

After clicking “next,” the website asked for an employer, occupation and a password to set up future donations. WND staff entered the occupation as “deceased terror chief” and the employer as “al-Qaida.”

The transaction was made last Friday with the use of a disposable credit card. The website did not require the card’s security code.

On a slightly related but off-thread note, a feller up top (out of the canyon) has named his place “STFO Ranch” I was puzzled, so I asked. It means “Stay … … Out Ranch.” Says he’s been robbed twice.
