Looking Better and Better

And now for your daily Anti-Doom-And-Gloom dose:

Barring the October Surprise to End All October Surprises, and we don’t really see that happening considering how the Obumbles Junta is flailing ever more desperately at straws while the whole Benghazi Murder is certainly not going to get any less damaging for him and his blood-stained paws, things are sitting really pretty.

Case in point, this article. Read it all, but the short version is that both Rasmussen and Gallup (!) have numbers that predict a 4-6 point Romney win with Rasmussen being the more pessimistic of the two. Party affiliation is NOT what it was in 2008, and it’s really surprising to His Majesty that he even has to point this out after 2010, Obama’s Democrat National Socialist Party is NOT ahead by 8-12 points, they’re not even ahead, and independents are breaking massively for Romney, where they broke by 8 points for O-jugears in 2008.

Couple that with the fact that the gender gap, in spite of the Condom-in-Chief’s desperate campaign to convince women that Republicans hate their lady parts, doesn’t exist anymore. OK, that’s not true, but for women it’s in Romney’s favor and for men… No contest.

At least half a dozen reliably leftist newspapers, latest the Des Moines Register who hasn’t endorsed a Republican in 40 years, dumped their endorsement of Obam-bam in 2008 to go with Romney this time. Meanwhile, the number of newspapers who went for McCain in 2008 but switched to Obutthead today remains… Zero.

And things are NOT going to get better for Teh One™ in the last 9 days before the election. His very BEST case scenario is that they’re not going to get any WORSE, and that’s already highly dubious, what with the Benghazi Bust gaining ever more traction and him being reduced to begging the daughters of Americans to have sex with him.

Bozo the Clown is on his way out.

But that doesn’t mean that we can just go back to sleep and let Somebody Else™ do the “work” of voting him out. Now’s not the time to go wobbly. It just means that it’s highly unseemly for anybody on our side to whine, moan and curl up in the fetal position. There’s work to be done. There’s a huge difference between making the enemy yield the field and turning his defeat into a rout.

First you stop him, then you turn him, then you unleash the cavalry and hack down the fleeing rabble from the back. That’s VICTORY. The other is just delaying the showdown to another day. Don’t let them breathe, don’t let them regroup, ride them down, chop them to pieces, then turn back and execute anything that still moves with a shot to the back of the head.

All of the above metaphorically speaking, of course.

Another reason why it’s so important to keep the pressure up and to anchor the reality of the ass-beating that Obama is about to receive in the mind of the American people is that if, IF, and this is the biggest if ever, the Democrat National Socialist Party should succeed in outdoing all of their predecessors in vote fraud (and rest assured that Obama and his Junta will try), then it is vitally important that the conventional wisdom is that there is no way he could have legitimately won.

Because upon that conventional wisdom rests the chance of victory for our nation, should the unthinkable come to pass.

There is a REASON why most of the EneMedia are still trying to push the fiction that their Messiah can win, and we can’t allow them to get away with it.

So ruck up, put on a grim determined smile and do whatever you can to make sure that nobody believes their bullshit because, just in case (and it really isn’t going to happen but you always, always have to have a Plan B), our nation’s very existence in the reckoning that will follow hinges upon as many people as possible knowing that there was no way that the shithead could have legitimately won.

Only nine days now, and then we get to celebrate. Home stretch. Hang in there!

Thatisall.

P.S.: Nate Silver’s reaction to all of the above was that he revised Obama’s chances of winning upwards to 175.9%

P.P.S.: If you need any further convincing that things aren’t looking bleak at all, Allahpundit hasn’t posted anything along the lines of “Can Romney Pull it Off?” in DAYS. If you’ve lost King Eeyore, you’ve truly lost ‘em all.

And yet the media continues to cover for him. Here is another “nothing to see here” story.

What about the Camp Bastion Attack?

Three days after the bloody 9/11 siege on our consulate in Benghazi, the Taliban waged an intricately coordinated, brutal attack on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. The murderous jihadists released video exactly one month ago this week showing off their training exercises in preparation for the assault. Where are the questions?
Where’s the accountability? Where’s the Obama administration? Where’s the press? Where’s the outrage?

Two heroic U.S. Marines were killed in the battle. Their names — Christopher Raible, a lieutenant colonel, and Bradley Atwell, a sergeant — have not been uttered publicly by the commander-in-chief. Their arrival back in the U.S., in flag-draped coffins, was not broadcast on network TV. But their brothers-in-arms did not and will not forget. And neither must we.

On September 20, John Gresham of the Defense Media Network wrote a scathing detailed breakdown of this little-noticed terrorist attack on our troops. He called it “arguably the worst day in USMC aviation history since the Tet Offensive of 1968.” Eight irreplaceable aircraft were destroyed or put out of action by Taliban warriors dressed in U.S. combat fatigues — amounting to “approximately 7 percent of the total flying USMC Harrier fleet,” Gresham reported.

His summary is bone-chilling: “A Harrier squadron commander is dead, along with another Marine. Another nine personnel have been wounded, and the nearby Marines at Camp Freedom are now without effective fixed-wing air support. The USMC’s response to this disaster will be a telling report card on its leadership and organizational agility.”

On September 21, the left-leaning magazine The Atlantic published an article on the Camp Bastion attack titled “The U.S. Suffered Its Worst Airpower Loss Since Vietnam Last Week and No One Really Noticed.” A few right-leaning blogs raised troubling questions about preparedness and security.

Michelle Malkin – National Review Online, October 26th, 2012

Has anyone seen this covered in the MSM? Also, if someone could explain to me the significance of the squadron command and the fixed-wing aircraft, I’d appreciate it.

Harriers are vertical take off and landing planes. They are subsonic attack aircraft designed to assist ground troops in an attack. If needed they can stop and hover and precisely target an enemy. They are no longer in production so to replenish parts and aircraft we purchased used ones from across the pond. We only have a hundred or so of these aircraft so the loss of eight of them is of huge significance. Though subsonic they can travel near the speed of sound and get to remote battlegrounds quickly and kill the bad guys. Something the helicopters can’t do quickly..

Obama avoids question on whether Americans in Libya were denied requests for help

    Published October 27, 2012

    FoxNews.com

President Obama declined to answer directly whether a CIA annex was denied urgent requests for military assistance during the deadly attacks last month on U.S. outposts in Libya.

The president did not give a yes-or-no answer Friday when asked pointedly whether the Americans under attack in Benghazi, Libya, were denied requests for help during the attack.

Fox News has also learned that a request from the CIA annex for backup was later denied.

“The election has nothing to do with the four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened,” the president said in TV interview with an NBC affiliate in Colorado.

When asked again, Obama said, “The minute I found out what was going on, I gave three very clear directives — Number 1, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to.”

The first attack occurred at the American consulate in Benghazi, killing U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and U.S. diplomat Sean Smith.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team that was at the CIA annex about a mile from the consulate when it came under attack. Upon hearing shots fired, team members asked higher-ups at the annex if they could go the consulate. However, they were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange.

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and went to the consulate, evacuating survivors and Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack.

They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight. At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. Woods and fellow former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty were killed at the annex by a mortar shell at 4 a.m.

The CIA and Defense Department have denied claims about requests for support being rejected.

“The agency reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi,” said CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood. “Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need. Claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.”

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help.

“There’s a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on here,” he said Thursday. “But the basic principle here … is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on.”

Obama also said in the TV interview, as he said previously said, the administration is going to “investigate what happened to make sure it never happens again” and find out who was involved in the attack so they can be brought to justice.

“I guarantee you that everybody in the State Department, our military, CIA, you name it, have a No.1 priority making sure that people are safe. These are our folks. And we’re going to find out exactly what happened but what we’re also going to do is make sure that we are identify those who carried out these terrible attacks,” the president said.

    Want to talk hurricanes?

This is a riveting account by a survivor of Hurricane Camille, 1969: one of only two Category 5 hurricanes to ever strike the US coastline. Biggest storm surge and highest winds on record. A real MONSTER:

Surge close to 30 feet, Topped by waves of 35 feet; sustained winds of 190 mph, and gusts up to 230 mph.

    Damage? total obliteration, hundreds dead.

OTOH, Sandy, though she’ll be a pain in the butt (main problem, flooding) is a kiss on the cheek. Watching Yankees prep for a Cat. 1/Tropical Storm is like watching Southerners prep for a 5″ snowfall. ;-)

While things have trended in the direction which indicates this country hasn’t been completely overrun by morons, fuckups and parasites, I do wonder one thing: is it possible that Romney peaked too early? When you catch a big wave, it carries you forward, swamping everything in its path. Eventually, the wave runs of out steam, you hit the ground and you start to move backward a little. That thought is what’s worrying me most.

The numbers thing depends on where you are. If you’re in Utah, or most of Texas, for example, you’re probably fine. If you’re in a deep blue state, you’re going to be badly outnumbered.

If it comes to violence, be sure to raise a small obelisk in memory of those of us behind enemy lines who did what we could before we were overwhelmed.

LA has about 150,000 gang bangers. They can shoot well enough to do damage, and they definitely have the will. Further, in California, it isn’t exactly uncommon to see civilian vehicles with military/veteran bumper stickers AND Obama campaign stickers. They can probably shoot, too. That’s not counting the other lefty types who have guns and would likely be emboldened by the numbers on their side.

If things get real sporty, the Mexican cartels could try to grab some territory, too. They’re pretty good killers.

Other places will be far less dangerous, but there are plenty of Lefty strongholds where there are going to be significant combatants of at least some effectiveness.

All very good points, and I agree with all of them.

Which is why we should all spend a lot of time praying that it does NOT come to that.

Not because we’re “a-skeered” of the enemy, but because it is always a very dumb move to underestimate the capabilities of one and, furthermore, no matter what the outcome (and I’m as confident as everybody else about that), things like that are never, ever pretty. There is going to be lamenting, tearing of hair and many casualties on the side of the white hats too, and it is going to be cold comfort to those casualties and their loved ones that it “all worked out in the end.”

Combat is never pretty, no matter how much the odds are in one side’s favor, there is no such thing as a “good, glorious fight.” There ARE “necessary” and “righteous” fights, but they are never, ever pretty. Somebody’s going to get hurt on the side of the good guys, and it really doesn’t matter how much is was worth it, they’ll still be hurt.

That’s why I never romanticize fights, wars, battles etc. I honor and revere the ones who made the sacrifices when there was no other way, and I’ll sing their praises until the end of my life for what they did, but they’re not something to be actively sought or longed for. That kind of bull is for teenagers who have the excuse of not knowing any better. They’re horrible, bloody affairs with a lot of pain in their wakes. Yes, sometimes you have to fight them because to NOT fight them would be worse, but they’re never an ideal outcome. They’re the last resort. Nothing wonderful about them. It’s just a dirty job that you have to do sometimes, and the best service you can do for yourself and your loved ones is to avoid them when possible. As I was taught: Don’t ever start a fight, but if you’re in one, by G-d FINISH it.

Yes, we may well see massive riots and bloodshed in our future, no matter what the outcome of the election. If Romney wins, as I’m fairly certain at this point that he will, we might see it as his fanatics rebel against the inevitable. If Ogabe wins, then we’ll see it when our nation collapses under a mountain of debt, hyper-inflation and every man to himself.

And we will behave ourselves accordingly as patriots and Americans, and we will do what needs to be done, but we should never, ever, allow ourselves to long for it.

Our Founding Fathers didn’t fight the British because they dreamed of glory on the battlefield, as a matter of fact they almost all ended up either broke, dead or both. They did it because they HAD to, and they knew that they HAD to because they’d tried every other option first.

A true warrior remembers this: Avoid the fights you can, win the fights you can’t, hate both.
