Can We Just Start Firing the Worthless Parasites Already

So the Chicago “teachers” are striking because they, being the most saintly protected, overworked, underpaid class of selfless, mass-produced Mother Theresas in the history of mankind aren’t getting, sorry, what again?

Oh, that’s right. Those selfless, all For The Children™ martyrs of society aren’t happy with not getting a twenty-something percent salary increase for their tireless, heroic 9-months-a-year with full benefits not paid for by themselves work in the bloody trenches of the Passchendaele of education. The poor saints are asked to make do with a mere 16% increase on top of an average salary of an insultingly low $76,000 a year in a city where the average worker, the ones who are still lucky enough to have work, is feasting in utter debauchery on caviar and Wagyu beef with $47,000 a year working full time.

How the hell can we expect those Heroes of the Proletariat™ to continue teaching the next generations vital skills such as rolling condoms on bananas, marching in the streets condemning the Inherent Evil of the American Imperium™ and handing out participation ribbons instead of actual grades if we keep insisting that they have to subsist on wages that would make a Czar have to choose between Champagne and Chardonnay to wash down his pate au foie gras? Huh?

At long last, have you no SHAME, American Taxpayers?

Oh, but that’s not the only inhumane inequity that those poor downtrodden demigods have to agree to, should they sign the contract and get back to work. Oh NOES! They’d also have to agree to having their performance evaluated by looking at their students’ performance! It’d be like insisting that hospitals be evaluated based on how many patients they manage to NOT kill off through malpractice! When will this oppressive horror END? What’s next? Consumer reports, QA/RA departments in private companies, an agency (let’s call it the FDA) monitoring whether or not new medications kill or cure people? Oh wait…

So to protect the rights, the RIGHTS of American Childerrrrrrnnnnn™ to receive a quality education, their alleged educators are marching in the streets refusing to provide those same children with any education at all. Makes perfect sense. If you’re a fucking maniac, that is.

Time to start handing out pink slips in numbers that would make the most modern printing press choke, take up drinking and then commit suicide.

Then, THEN we round up all of the public unions’ bosses and shoot them. In public. For fun. On pay per view. THEN we charge their relatives for the bullets.

Thatisall.

Gonna be interesting how this turns out. On one side you have the government teat sucking parasites that “deserve” everything they “demand”, not “ask for” led by a true blue red Marxist that is both fugly and won’t give an inch. Then you have a local government that, although liberal, has been gobsmacked by the economic realities of the world that are a real bitch and unforgiving. Rhambo doesn’t have a printing press at his disposal and going to the Feds for money is out of the question (at least until after the election). On top of that you have the people who have been kicked, gouged, fucked over, assaulted, bled dry of both money and blood and generally beaten like a combination red-headed stepchild and a mangy dog that are now getting the hemp rope knotted up.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how revolutions begin because there is no easy way out.

Hell, not one teacher in Illinois is worth that kind of money.

If you want see a example of the true fruits of the socialists economic policies look no further than Il. They have been in complete control here for at least 30 + years. We are broke. Why is it that other states can balance their budgets and Il can’t? Why is that other states can produce better educational outcomes across the board and this state can’t? Why is it that we have more shootings than other states yet we have the most restrictive gun laws in the nation? And the worst thing about this, why is it that 99% of the counties in Il. vote conservative and yet we are still considered a “blue” state? And I’m “crazy” for thinking that I want to KILL some of these motherfuckers party to this nonsense? Chicago schools are funded 35% by “down staters.”

A four percent increase! In this economy? When we are fucking BROKE! And I’m the “crazy” one……

One student is seen holding a sign that says “Jobs With Justice,” referring to a socialist lobbying organization. When the man behind the camera asks him if he knows what Jobs With Justice is, he replies, “no.” When asked where he got it, he said “some lady” gave it to him.

    Fuck firing. I’m for hanging.

Speaking as a former educator, and the mother of one, I can say this is a valid concern. The performance of the students doesn’t necessarily indicate how good or bad a teacher is. My daughter teaches in a predominantly Hispanic school, where the parents aren’t literate in their native tongue, let alone in English. The children are unmotivated, uncaring, and generally lazy, and with no interested parents at home to keep them motivated, my daughter can only do so much.

My daughter is high-energy, motivated, caring, compassionate, and a very good teacher. She gives extra in that she prays for each and every one of her students. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. She gives more than 100%, but sometimes to no avail. Bush’s “No child left behind” is part of the problem with public education.

I taught college for 15 years. I had similar experiences. For awhile, we were judged by student evaluations. Problem was, the good students didn’t usually say anything on the evals; the bad students were all over the evals like white on rice.

My contention is, and has always been, that a good student can learn even with a bad teacher, but a bad student can’t necessarily learn no matter how good the teacher is.

Electoral maps of California look quite similar – an awful lot of the map is red, but the population centers are blue.

In my exp as a instructor there was what was considered a reasonable fail rate. If a instructors percentage exceeded that rate, the instructor would be evaluated accordingly as they should be. The elephant in the room that no one seems to be willing to address is the cultural deficiencies that exist within certain minority communities in the attitude toward education and its lack of support from the culture. There is no adjustment in the performance standard based on that reality, and as such blames the educator alone, when in fact, the lions share of the blame belongs to the culture. This is not a race issue or economic issue, it is a culture issue. Until the culture addresses the issue you could send those kids to the best school in the world and get the same outcome. I don’t blame a teacher for that. I do blame them for expecting society to pay them 75K a year for a 50K job. I blame them for expecting benefit packages that exceed the norm. And I blame them from promoting a focus designed to support social engineering more than developing critical thinking skills.

My step daughter is in her final year of studies at university to be a teacher. I am guiding her toward employment at a private school. She may make a bit less, but her overall impact will be greater and she will likely be more satisfied, and motivted to excell.

PS. I HATE that comment luv dohicky. I find it stalkerish to say the least.

I have to fully agree with that. I too am in favor of some sort of objective evaluation of teacher performance, it wasn’t until I moved here to Austin where it was pointed out to me that many, many of our illegals were completely illiterate in Spanish. Culturally, it was also obvious that education was of little importance when you see families with school-aged children shopping at 3 a.m. How could the kids possibly get sufficient sleep to perform in school being up at that hour, if they attended at all? In their native lands they attend school until they’re old enough to work and then drop out is the norm as explained to me.

Never mind though, they’ll still squeeze us out down here since their birth-rate is astronomical.

When I thought about becoming a teacher, I wanted to teach at a Christian school, mainly inspired by my teacher that I had 4-8 grade, She didn’t make a lot, but that wasn’t why she became a teacher. That’s not why I wanted to become a teacher. She showed me that I had a gift (writing), and helped me refine it. I wanted to be able to do the same, and help other young people how to write at the same time.

These teachers are such malcontents. Teaching should be a labor of love, not a constant whine-fest when they don’t get what they want. If they don’t like what they’re making, there are always other jobs out there. All they’re doing is hurting the kids who are stuck at home, and the parents who have to work and have no idea what to do with said kids. I ever have kids, it’s home-schooling for them, if possible.

Much as I hate to admit it, the teachers have a point about the evaluation. The books and instructional material are absolute garbage, they were bad when I was in grade school and they have gone steadily downhill since. My granddaughter asked me to help her with her math homework, and I was appalled by the worthless examples, the illogical methods they were supposed to use and the utter lack of basics being taught. I showed her how I did it, and two weeks later they moved her into the advanced class. She’s a smart girl, but was being taught all wrong.

Being evaluated for progress when you are mandated to use bad material = not a good thing. If you blow off the books and Teach, you’d better be looking for another job; if you teach to the book you’ll keep your job but the students won’t learn much. You can be sure that 99.9% of these teachers took option 2. Dad took option 1 and as a result didn’t manage to teach very long at any one school (although I still run into former students of his).

When I was in grade school (1990s), we were taught using books made in the 60s-80s, and we got along just fine. In fact, we scored high on the achievement tests (I was reading at the college level by the time I was in the sixth grade). We learned how to do math correctly, and how to read and write correctly. As you said, the tried and true methods often work the best.

If your evaluation, while poor, is the same as everybody else who is using the same material (and why wouldn’t it be if the only reason your evaluation sucks is that you’re teaching garbage?) then the school district would have to choose between A) seeing if there’s something wrong with the material or B) fire every single teacher in the district. I submit that the latter would be unlikely. Even a Democrat voter would be able to smell the fish here.

    tweell says:

Why there’s the real problem, now isn’t it? And why can you be fired for doing a good job? UNIONS and the liberal leftist cancer infesting our society. And why is that cancer allowed to continue to exist? Because we’re fucking pussies and just meekly bow down and accept the yoke.

I don’t want to hear excuses, I want to hear solutions. And we can’t ever hope to improve the quality of education in this country unless we allow the producers of education (teachers) to be evaluated based on the quality of their product. The problem IS that when Johnny can’t read at age 17, we don’t have any other options because we HAVEN’T shut down the unions and hanged their bosses from the nearest tree. Or at the very least offered our fellow citizens an alternative like, say, private schools which most people can’t afford because they’re being robbed blind by the IRS to pay for the schools they don’t want their children to attend.

First, we shut down the unions. Then we shut down the liberal democrat fascists and their stranglehold on choice by, say, offer vouchers to all taxpayers so they can CHOOSE which school their kids go to. The free market will take care of the rest.

Failing schools will shut down for lack of kids attending them, kids from lazy, dysfunctional families will continue to fail (but it will be bloody obvious that it’s not the teacher’s fault as their students NOT from “gimme” families will excel so it won’t hurt their performance eval) and things will once again return to normal.

I don’t want to hear excuses, I can’t use them for anything.
