Time For The GOP To Say “Enough Already”

And so we learn that, just as it ever was, the “impartial” panels moderating the debates will be made up entirely of drooling leftard liberals.

I was appalled, although not surprised, to read the just announced list of moderators for the forthcoming presidential debates: Jim Lehrer of PBS, Candy Crowley of CNN, Bob Schieffer of CBS, and Martha Raddatz of ABC (VP debate).

Nope. Not a single representative from the “other side” on there. Listen, His Imperial Majesty is perfectly aware that there is no such thing as a Wholly Impartial Moderatorâ„¢, it is a mythical beast as everybody has his own opinion and is perfectly entitled to it.

Which, by the way, is ostensibly why we made up panels of moderators: to avoid or, more accurately, balance out the bias that is part of human nature.

Ostensibly, because it seems that the only “balancing out” in moderator panels these days is between Trotskyism, Maoism and Leninism.

So we agree wholeheartedly with Mr Simon when he says:

I don’t have any idea why the tradition of allowing a biased media to run these events continues. It is a testament to the passivity of the Republican Party. We saw how it worked during the primary season. Now we are going to get a rerun during the main event, with more subtlety and ultimately more subversion.

But there is something we can do about it even at this late date: protest and protest loudly.

The passivity and “go along to get along”, “bend over here it comes again” and “thank you sir, may I have another” mentality of the GOP is so well-established by now that it ought by right be part of the dictionary definition of that laughably nadless “party”, but that doesn’t mean that it has to remain that way. Yes, we can protest and yes, we do have a chance of being heard, but only if we actually do it as opposed to the usual “what’s the point? It’s not going to work anyway.”

You may call us a hopeless optimist (and if you do, His Imperial Majesty would strongly recommend that you get back on your meds), but we’re pretty convinced that if it hadn’t been for the Tea Party protesting loudly while ignoring the moans of “you’re never going to succeed, you know”, 2010 wouldn’t have happened, the RINOs in Congress wouldn’t be scared shitless by now while watching ever more of their fellow parasites being kicked out after decades of sinecures and Mittens “Squish” Romney wouldn’t have even thought about putting Paul Ryan on the ticket.

It’s time to tell the Ogabe Steno Pool that we’re not going to participate in their phony show trial “debates” run by their party commissars anymore. Either balance those panels out or go fuck yourselves.

Thatisall.

Maybe Ryan will get Mittens to man up and tell them to change their moderators.

And in other news, I did a comparison of Obama and Romney, and one of Ryan and Biden.

Opinions? :em05:

so Romney/Ryan are debating both the opposing candidates AND the moderators. It’ll be interesting to see the content of the questions. If I were the campaign manager for Romney/Ryan, I would tell the debate organizers to balance out the ideaology of the moderators or we will pull out of their show trials masquerading as debates…..that we’ll hold town hall meetings… Read more »

When Bob Schieffer is the conservative of the group…… it’s time to walk away.

Exactly my thoughts the moment I read the so called moderators list. If our team accepts this they are proving themselves to be losers before uttering a word.

Either 50% are assigned conservative moderators or they should walk. I propose Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter as moderators. Lets see how they like them apples.

If they could just get Sheriff Arpaio on the panel,, just him,, the rest would be reduced into whimpering rivulets of snot.
BS is whistlin’ past such a huge cemetery,, but it’s only getting darker, ‘specially for holder.
Screw the distractions. Let’s keep the heat right under their asses, where it belongs.

Terrapod, I like your list. What’s wrong with half-dozen moderators, anyway? Or two from column A and two from column B.

Romney’s reaction to this electoral clusterfuck will set the tone of the campaign. Ryan has already started kicking serious ass. Let’s ratchet it up a bit.

Just get Tuk-tuk, the Javanese headhunter. He has no idea who Romeny and Obama are, and he cares not a whit for American politics. Perfectly neutral.

Terrapod @ #7: To your list of worthies I would add: Monica Crowley Charles Krauthammer S.E. Cupp Mark Steyn Michelle Malkin Sean and S.E. are probably the most TV-friendly to a broad audience. The rest would make any liberals tuning in quickly realize that they have no idea what is really going on, and that will piss them off. I… Read more »

SecondMouse – wow, yes, Mark Steyn would be spectacular, how did I forget! But then none of our choices meet the “ahem” standards of the MSM do they? Hope Romney does tell them to go to hell unless it is balanced, and yes, why not two moderators at the same time with alternating chances to ask the leading questions…. boy… Read more »

Need to stop calling them moderators and star calling them “liberators” there is nothing moderate about them. As liberators you can accurately describe them “liberating” you from truth. “liberating” you from common sense, etcetera. In fact, we should have no moderator asking questions; the candidates should directly ask each other question, so we could watch joe Biden curl up into… Read more »

It’s too easy to overlook the damage they have done to the root word “Liberty” by using that appellation. I would instead label them ‘Progerators’.

On second thought, ‘Masturbators’ would be more appropriate. ‘Dutch rudders’ would be even better, for those who enjoy a fitting if somewhat obscure reference.

This certainly shouldn’t be difficult in the name of “fairness”. As best we know 20% of the citizens are liberal,40% are conservative, and the other 40% are independant or a mixed bag. So– if we have 5 moderators use the above as the standard. What could be more Fair and representative of reality?

If there’s gotta be a panel of unelected mediacrats, I nominate – Jerome Corsi, Stanley Kurtz, Edward Klein.

But I sill cannot recall that article of the Constitution which extablishes the requirement of a series of Presidential Candidate debates. Eisenhower? Truman? Roosevelt? The other Roosevelt? When Nixon did it, it was the first of his numerous mistakes.

Remove the middle man and just allow the candidates to alternate asking each other questions. Watch Biden become a whimpering puddle of goo on the floor.
